Daghand salamat sa imong pag-ampo diri kanamo nga gidungoig niya and imong panalangin. Ug dili kini namo kalimtan sulod sa pila ka tuig. Kami kanunay naga-ampo saginod nga hatagan kag kalig-on sa imong pang lawas. ug labi na sa imong trabaho.

When their father says, "Thank you so much for the prayers you share here in us. God hears you praying. And we can never forget it for our whole entire years. We always pray to God that he will give you strength, good health especially in your work."

I am amazed that my child's family praises God for his healing after an illness, and how thankful they are that Gabriel is sponsored.

My sponsored children amazing me with their spiritual maturity. They constantly look for ways to help others and grow as leaders in their community. They always ask how they can help and pray for me. They refuse to be victims and are happy, sincere, dedicated warriors deeply committed to “the call”. I honestly believe they CAN change the world.

My sponsored children amaze me with their thankfulness.

"I am the luckiest girl in the world"

and

"I pray for all the children in my project who do not have sponsors"

are exact quotes from letters I have gotten from two of my girls.

One of my girls also particularly amazes me with her spirit and determination. I'm sure she's an LDP student in the making! :)

Diantha, don't get weary of waiting. It is said the first letter can take up to 6 months. Please keep writing - my 'wait period' between when I write a letter to Bolivia and when she receives it is 2-3 months, so when she responds, it's another 2-3 months before I get it. And I've heard that the letters are saved up and only go out 3 or 4 times a year from her country, so sometimes I receive two at once written a month apart.

In Bolivia, the kids are allowed to write every time the sponsor does, not a mere 3 times a year. Therefore, I encourage you to put letters "in the pipeline" so you will not have long waits between letters. (However, I know some countries have not taken up the policy of 1 for 1 letters.) As time goes by, with your relentless letters and your child's responses, you will develop a close relationship. Just don't think of it as, "okay, now the ball's in your court," waiting for a response before you write again.

Diantha, three or four months may be about average, but I've heard of sponsors waiting 6 monts for their first letter.

Trying to build a relationship with a child far, far away, by correspondence, is a great way to learn "delayed gratification"! :o) Please don't give up, and feel free to continue writing to your kids as often as you want and are able.

That depends Diatha--I'd say on average it take 8 weeks for my letter to reach my child. Than another 8 weeks for the his/her letter to get back to me--so you are looking at 3 to 4 months from the time you write a letter until you recieve a letter back from your child.

Give is some time Diantha (if you are a new sponsor). The letter writing, translating, delivery process takes time. Suffice it to say, the letters are well-worth the wait.
