Clearly, all is not well in this bath bucket! Most of us don’t know what it’s like to bathe in such a manner, but millions of children around the world are truly blessed to have clean water washing over them.
What photo caption can you come up with to describe what this child is thinking?

This water is COLD
i second!
One man’s trash bin is another child’s bath tub.
Ouch that soap burns my eyes.
“But Jesus was born in a dirty manger and he loves me. Why can’t I be dirty and still love him too?”
“Daddy, I know it’s clean water! But it’s C C C C COLD!!!
But the mud gave me super powers! Now I can’t stop the bad guys!
“This is the same bucket we use to go to the bathroom”
no soap, no bath, just a bucket and cold water and a hungry child!!
I believe I would rather be in a bath tub where I could adjust the water temperature with my toes!
“But I got clean last week, why do I have to do it again!?!”
“But I was SAVING that dirt!!!”
Daddy, What’s wrong with a little dirt?
Get me out of here!!
Reduce, reuse, recycle–gone awry.
Why do I have to get washed up?? I’m only going out and get dirty again.
I see nothing wrong with this picture, I’m sure like any other child he just doesn’t like water in his eyes. like you said there are lots of people on earth that do the same, and I grew up just like that, the bucket was getting smaller and smaller with time
I don’t know if plastic was shrinking or I was getting bigger
yes, and many of us are very spoiled…there is a difference between pity..and compassion..
I worked so hard to get this dirty, now you are taking it off.
well….you’re next dad!
“when they said God cleanses……. this isnt what i had in mind!!!!”
“nnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!”
BUBBLES! I want more BUBBLES!
“So what’s wrong with a little dirt, anyway?”
(My mom always said if I came back from somewhere and I was dirty, she knew I’d had a good time. LOL)
Dad, this daily baptism stuff has GOT to stop!
Face it – Dirty is easier!
I don’t like water in my eyes.
All the more reason to sponsor a child today! Our sponsorship of Lucia from Nicaragua has brought us so much joy. If you haven’t yet sponsored a child, please consider doing so in this new year. Although our nation is experiencing an economic crisis and times are tough, we in America have so much more than our brother and sisters in developing nations. God will bless your generosity and He will provide if you step out in faith and make a commitment to bless those who are less fortunate.
Being rinsed off with your own potty seat, is not as fun as it looks…
brrrrrrrrr, cold in here, please don’t push me in any further
Why Do I have to be the youngest in a family of ten. It’s like being a dirty pond!
I don’t WANNA take a bath!!! wait, you’re rinsing my head with a BED PAN???
Oh, I don’t have a caption, but I can almost hear this little one screaming!
I thought we were playing HIDE and SEEK!!
I have a painting I did of my daughter at around the same age in the same color bucket only she loved it…we were staying where there was no tub, only a shower and she needed to be clean. I wish there was a way I could upload it. Some kids love the bath, some don’t…
“Son, you’re now of age to know this is the water we use for dinner, too. So, no wee-wee, okay?”
I actually used to be washed like this. What I was thinking was that the soap in the water stings, my eyes….
“Ouch, this soap stings my eyes…”
Please can I get out now daddy? My head is really really squeaky clean!
“Ever since Sister went to the Compassion Project and learned about personal hygiene, I’ve had to endure this!”
But, I don’t need a bath!!!!!
“I always hate these cold bucket baths! I wish it was warmer!”
Tell me once more why you glued your hand to the top of my head?
Daddy, I thought you said “washed by His blood,” not “washed in the SUDS!!!”
You’re not going to throw me out with the bath water are you?
Some of the scariest things in life are the most beneficial.
But all I did was play in the dirt!
I am never going to step in that stuff again!
“Aww, MOM!!”
But Mom! The cooties are what protected me from the girls! Now I have to go out and find more cooties, quick!
Water in the eyes is the WORST ever! (At least that’s what my little two year old I used to be nanny for seemed to think… Dad needs to learn the hand-shield maneuver.)
