It's good to see the LDP students helping out too. Student Leadership Development Programs offers a wide variety of opportunities that complement the classroom experience. Great work guys.

Pro 19:15 -- Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

Pro 31:27 -- She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

I agree Vicki, I can swim and have never been in anything where flood waters seem to rise so quickly, I can only imagine trying to escape. I am thankful for the help and encouragement of so many Christians especially of many I have heard through Compassion. Their testimonies strengthen me. I remember one a few weeks back about an LDP student who often studies til late at night and has to get up real early to take care of her family and then catch a bus to college. Lack of sleep is very difficult especially when you are trying to do a good job at things like studying and or exercising. Visiting the Philippines this past June on the sponsor tour I got to meet an encouraging lady who mentioned their church was flooded just like mentioned in the report above and she said they were having worship as the waters were approaching head level in the church! Her statement caught me off guard a little. I thought man, it give new meaning to singing there is a fountain flowing deep and wide! I couldn't really say anything I was just thinking wow! I am thankful we were able to be an encouragement to them, they were definitely an encouragement to me!

I Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for YOU!"

My mind really cannot even grasp the level of devastation that hits so many parts of our world in natural disasters. I can only think that, one day, all of God's people, from every tribe and every nation, will be gathered in the new heaven and the new earth, with no more disasters, pain, suffering, or sorrow.

In the meantime, too many people still do not know Jesus, and Compassion's ministry helps to make Him real to those in need.

This is exactly how the church is supposed to work, and how leaders are developed for following generations. I love the LDP and all its students.

It's great to see that the LDP students are lending a helping hand in this time of recovery in the Philipines.
