I join Pastor Rodriguez in proclaiming – “Jesus is Lord of Gualey!” I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Gualey visiting, maintaining and supervising the water project installed at Pastor Rodriguez’ church through Healing Waters International. He is a truly inspiring person, and a church that is definitely living out the call to love their neighbors. Thanks for bringing attention to our brothers and sisters in Gualey. I visited Gualey while in the DR with a team from Healing Waters. I ate lunch in the humble home of a woman living in a shack with her 4 children while 5 men provided security outside. Pastor Rodriguez has truly risked his life to be an advocate for children. He has won the respect of his community, and God is doing great things in that community, thanks to the him and the Compassion volunteers in that community.

Wow, it’s amazing how Satan is almost using a pervasive way of charity towards these people too. The druglords giving the children money and material possesions. We need to pray for these children. It shows the importance of the wholistic development program. If we just met one need, Satan can come in and try to meet the other needs.

How terribly sad to know that innocent children in have to grow up under such circumstances. Thank God for the witness and efforts of Pastor Rogrigues and Compassion.

This breaks my heart. I never realize the magnitude of the drug problem in the DR. My heart breaks for the children. I will definitely keep the DR in my prayers.

I will definitely be praying for this community as my sponsored child lives there. It makes me incredibly sad knowing that this is going on all around her. Even though its hard to hear this, thanks for sharing it.

This breaks my heart. It also shows how cunning the devil is in his efforts to gain the lives, bodies and souls of children.

We are truly in a spiritual battle. We do not fight against flesh and blood; they truly are instruments of Satan, our real Enemy. We must increase our prayers for the pastors, the student-center staff, the children and their families. And we must pray unceasingly that Christ will defeat those whose gifts to the children and families are meant for their harm.
