Regrettably, since the project closed in 2009, we aren't able to send the continuing correspondence waiver. This waiver has to be sent within six months of a project being closed. I encourage you to continue praying for him.

(I'm Tom Fulghum, son of Tom and Lois, former missionaries with HCJB Global. <>) I had a Compassion Child in Ecuador, from the coast. I met him one Christmas, bringing him up to Quito with his mom and his Compassion worker. Then some time after I'd returned to the US, they discontinued work at his project area, and I completely lost contact with him. I now help another child from near Riobamba Is there a way of regaining contact?

What a beautiful example of my hope as a sponsor.. to love and have a special relationship with the children that grab my heart..
We are to be there for them, not necessarily the other way around; remembering the child's interests and such is good to remember in my letter writing. I don't want to confuse or frustrate any child with letters, but at the same time hope to say or show something different enough sometimes to 'perk' their imagination and questions about things they don't know.. a fine balance.
What an honor to be considered a family member; what an ultimate reward to a loving sponsor..

Hey AG...My heart just welled up with tears as I saw the progress of faith and love with you and Marcos. It was a joy to meet him back in 2002, and now in 2009 he is married and have a beautiful wife and family. Amazing Love! Amazing Grace!

“Normally, it is very easy for us to tell ‘I do this or I do that …’, but it is way better to take the child’s interests into account...."

This is such a beautiful and encouraging story! I appreciate so much the many ways that Allen has gotten vitally involved in his sponsored children's lives!

I agree too, visiting your sponsored child is something you should definitely try to do! (Easier said than done, I know). I visited one of my sponsored children in July, and it just takes the relationship to a whole new level.
