Compassion Sunday 2013: Ginsely’s Story

Poverty does not just bring hunger or ill-health. Poverty robs children of their joy and takes away their opportunities and hopes for the future.

That is why Compassion Sunday is so important. For those of you who do not know, Compassion Sunday is an annual event that draws the attention of the Church to the needs of the world’s poorest children.

Children like Ginsely, who lives in the Dominican Republic. This is her story:

You can download this video and other Compassion Sunday resources on our site.

Ginsely’s life, and future, was transformed through the love and care of a sponsor. Compassion Sunday connects children like this young dentist to that same love and care.

Compassion Sunday is coming up on April 21, 2013. Will you host an event at your church or participate online? The future Ginselys of the world will be eternally grateful!

I was so very privileged to meet Ginsely on our sponsor tour two weeks ago. She is very subdued in this video – she is a fun-loving, generous, loving young woman. She has to work a regular job for awhile to pay her living expenses then goes to the villages to practice dentistry. She likes to say that she loves to make people smile; she does so with her professional skills and her love of God. Amazing what God can do with our hearts and resources.

Thank you Ginsely for sharing this (and making me cry!) what a beautiful testimony your life is. I pray my sponsored children will say the same one day, that they believe they can do all things through Christ.
