@Amy Wallace - Amy when you decide to go let me know I'll send you $20 it is not much but two neat things happened to me. Once I was in Sunday school and said "I'm going to the Philippines!!! I am aggressive at work and take extra work at work and I am fierce." A lady named Virginia Latourneau was visiting the class and gave me $20 saying "I felt like the Lord told me to give this to you." I greatly appreciated her $20. Later at a bible study I joked saying I think the Lord told her $2,000 and she heard it as $20. Also at church somebody left a $5 bill on the bookshelf with a note saying you are worthy of great value etc. buy yourself something nice etc. I still have that $5 bill and the note. I thought about just walking up in front of the whole church and saying I need all of you to give me $5 so I can go on the Compassion Philippines Sponsor Tour. I chose against that and earned the money from a bunch of drunk people overpaying me when I drove Taxi's for a month. It definitely feels good to get the money but maybe I should ask more next time!!!

Amy I like your thinking!!! I know I could fit!!! But knowing what God has done in the past I might as well just pay for both of our spots on the sponsor tour. But don't hold your breath!!! I hope to visit Peru maybe in 3 to 4 years. Maybe sooner. I went to Nicaragua last year on the sponsor tour and was able to save to go on the Philippines sponsor tour this June. I would like to go on the Tanzania sponsor tour next year, but I would really like to win the lottery for that one!!! Then Peru sometime after Tanzania. Maybe 2011 possibly 2010 if I somehow I could save for 2 trips. The reason Peru is last is because Victor the boy I sponsor there is 3 so I thought I would like to visit him by the time he is 7. As the time approaches feel free to ask me if I hit the jackpot!!! ;)

I Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for YOU!!!"

Another really interesting post. It is fascinating to learn how Easter is celebrated around the world.

@Mike Stephens - Sounds like a plan! If we start walking now, we might get there in time for Andry's 6th birthday on July 8 :)

I really do want to visit him and my other children someday. I may be biased, but I think he is the cutest boy on this planet. He always draws me pictures with his letters, and sends me many "kisses".

Maybe once I'm done my undergrad, I'll be able to visit my children. I have a really big suitcase - we could split the cost of a plane ticket, and you could probably hide in my suitcase.

Speaking about Easter gifts...

"...they just do not care much about it.The children just enjoy their time being out of school and eating some traditional dishes. They gather at somebody’s home..."

This is what we do...we don't do any of the commercialized Easter stuff. The focus for us, is Christ's death and resurrection. I think God saving us from sin is the biggest gift of all!
