featured-child-email-signature-blockIf you use Outlook, Yahoo or Gmail for your e-mail needs, you can now add our “featured child” widget to your e-mail signature block. Here’s how.

This is our original “featured child” widget, which you can put on your blog, MySpace page, or other website.

And this is the Facebook version.

Each widget features a specific child currently waiting for a sponsor.

Will there ever be a widget for Hotmail?? This is the email address I use all the time..

This is wonderful news. I will be setting up my Yahoo and Outlook accounts tonight!

Does this work on Outlook Express?

I think this is a great idea, just remember on every email that it will show up. So, be careful what you write, because it will have the request for a child sponsorship on it.

What about those of us using Apple’s Mail program for email?

  6. Chris GiovagnoniNo Gravatar Says:

    @ Heather,

Hotmail only allows text in its e-mail signatures. It doesn’t support this functionality at this point.

    @ Michael Scarbrough

Here are some general instructions on adding signatures to Apple Mail.

    And here is another set.

This iS PERFECT for my Wordpress.com-hosted blog, since they don’t allow ‘object-based’ widgets… only html image-based ones. Any idea if there’s a similar dynamic widget in the works that allows our compassion advocate link can be embedded?

Hi Sophie - Can you provide your advocate link for us? We believe we have a version that you can use on your Wordpress blog but need to know your advocate link in order to set it up.

Woo Hoo! My amazing hubby just added it for me!

Tom, that would be wonderful! Here is my advocate referral link:

My challenge is that Wordpress.com widgets need to be strictly HTML-based, like the widget designed for e-mail signatures. If there’s something like that available that’ll incorporate my advocate link, that would be great!

Go ahead and try using the html code on the following page and let us know how it works out for you. This widget is customized for your source code.

Thanks, Tom!! The link works perfectly!

I’m jumping in a tad late, here, but I don’t see an answer to Kees’s question. I also use Outlook Express…and I would also want to use my advocate referral link: http://www.compassion.com/sponsor/index.asp?referer=51131

  15. Chris GiovagnoniNo Gravatar Says:

    Vicki,

The widget does not work in Outlook Express.

    Tom,

How can I get an advocate referral link? I’m currently using the email signature and would love to be able to link it to my advocate ID (V2403).

    Thanks,
    Jon

    Jon,

Use this link to associate your advocate number with the e-mail signature block.
