Last month we asked you to join the letter writing club on Pinterest and I was so excited by the wonderful ideas you pinned to the Second Friday Letter Writing Club board. I even included a couple of these items in my letters.
So now it is time to introduce our theme for this month: Father’s Day!
The greatest gift I ever had
Came from God; I call him Dad!
Here in the United States, Father’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday in June. People in many other countries celebrate some form of Father’s Day by spending time together as a family and blessing their fathers with a special gift.
How will you be spending Father’s Day this year with your family? If you have young children at home, maybe have them draw a picture of your whole family together. How about sharing that drawing with your sponsored child?
Based on this month’s theme, consider asking these questions in your child’s letter:
- What do you and your father like to do together?
- What is your father’s favorite food?
- What makes your father laugh?
- How tall is your father?
- What is your father’s favorite Bible verse?
How about an idea from our Pinterest board to go with these questions?
Let your children fill out one of these printables for their dad, then send a blank one to your sponsored child, asking him or her to send it back to you with the answers.
Lastly, spend a little extra time in your letters reminding your sponsored children about their Heavenly Father who loves them and cares for them each and every day.
