Getting to Know the Compassion Experience Team: Rachel Mueller

fun get to know you questions Here we are, well on our way with the Change the Story Tour [3] and it’s been a crazy ride so far! We’ve had many firsts – first festival, first Global Leadership Summit, first injury, first time meeting one of the Compassion students whose story we tell.

Our heads and hearts are spinning a little bit.

I realized that we don’t know each other very well so I wanted to let you get to know our team a little better, starting with me.

So hi, I’m Rachel. I’m going to answer some questions today.

I’m twentysomethingish. I’m tall. I have blonde hair and blue eyes. I usually wear red lipstick. I have two brothers and a mom and dad. I’m your primary social media person. Blogs, tweets, Instagram, Facebook. Unless you don’t like it, then that’s someone else.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Chicago. I went to high school in Colorado. Then I moved to Nashville for college. I moved back to Colorado and now I live in Nashville on my days off.

Do you travel with the tour?

Yes. I travel full time with Frank and Martina. That’s what we call the trucks. Well actually, I drive in a white van (Bertha) behind them. Occasionally they let me sit in the big trucks.

Do you sleep on the trucks?

No. We stay in hotels, which is glorious because — someone makes your bed every day!!! Even though some hotel pillows make my neck hurt.

Are you married?

No.

What is your life motto?

My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.

What’s your favorite verse in Scripture?
“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly as I should.” –Ephesians 6:19-20, NIV

What’s your favorite food?

I have this annoying little thing where if I eat gluten (bread type things) I get really sick. So my favorite food would have to be anything without gluten.

What’s your favorite part of the Mobile Experience?

Honestly, I love getting to hear your stories when you walk through. I get to hang out with you and hear how God changed you in twenty minutes. It’s pretty awesome.

What do you do on your days off?

Sleep. Read. Watch movies. Write. Sometimes explore a little bit. If I’m in Nashville, I get my oil changed, go to the dentist, get my hair cut, etc. The things I used to take for granted.

Why should I come visit the Mobile Experience?

I’m a little biased, but it really is something you don’t want to miss. If you’ve ever wanted to experience what life is like outside the US, this is the perfect way to do it.

If you’re curious about who we are, or what we do, this gives you a tangible way to see the ministry firsthand. It’s only twenty minutes out of your day, which is slightly less than an episode of Green Acres.

What’s your favorite moment from the Change Tour so far?

Hands down when Julian came to visit us [4]. Julian is one of the Compassion students whose story we tell.

She came to visit in Parker, Colorado, and I was beyond humbled to meet her. Her story is amazing. She’s amazing. God is doing amazing things in her life. Can you tell I think she’s amazing? ☺

There you have it, a little bit more about me. I’ll continue this blog series by having the rest of our tour staff answer questions as well. We’re a traveling circus (minus the elephants) and I’d like you to meet everyone.

The tour has been going great. We’ve had some great shows and met even greater people. You guys have been showing up and blessing us beyond belief. I can’t thank you enough for helping give us the opportunity to do this!

We’ll see you next month.
