It’s Saturday. Here are two halves for you to wrestle with. It’s a tag team thing. Take on one or try to pin ‘em both down.
To follow Jesus is to . . .
My response to God’s mandate is . . .
Thanks to Melissa Coast and Jill Foley for sharing their best half with us.

To follow Jesus is to embrace suffering for the sake of love.
…to love Him and love others.
(my first response for both halves, six words that have immeasurable implication)
To follow Jesus is to … be Jesus-like.
My response to God’s mandate is … to first make sure I have IT right at home, and then take IT to all corners of the Earth.
To follow Jesus is to . . . obey.
My response to God’s mandate is . . . to obey.
OR
To follow Jesus is to . . . find His purpose for my life.
My response to God’s mandate is . . . to do anything and go anywhere, as He leads me, to fulfill His mandate.
To follow Jesus is to…be so close you could pick His pocket.
My response to God’s mandate is…lacking and always in need of improvement–and imrovement comes when I’m close enough to pick His pocket.
To follow Jesus is to seek Him through His word and through prayer; talk to Him, know Him, and tell others about Him.
My response to God’s mandate is to do what I can, where I am, to further his Kingdom and to love and care for others. (I strive to be better — I could do more.)
To follow Jesus is to be always listening , trusiting and obedient to His directions for me.
My response to God’s mandate is to act as Jesus would and never doubt or fear His leading.
To follow Jesus is to… care about what he cares about, and to NOT care about what he DOESN’T care about.
My response to God’s mandate is…to surrender and say YES.
To live like Him. What does that mean to me? To love ALL people.
ALL includes-the poor and wealthy, the hungry and overweight, the sick in health and the sick in acts they perform, the murderers and the liers, the Christian and the non-Christian.
If I want to follow Jesus I have to love-even when it’s the hardest.
