    The Child Survival Program…

was birthed out of necessity. prior to the program’s development, the children that were being enrolled in the regular Compassion program were the ’survivors’. By that we mean, if a child was fortunate enough to make it into a Compassion program, it meant he or she survived that critical age from birth to 5 years–that is the group whereby 30,000 children die every single day.

In other words, ten million (10,000,000) kids were dying every year before they were old enough to be enrolled in a Compassion project. That number has not changed significantly in the last few years, so it is of the utmost importance that Compassion’s child survival program grow.

Steve K. - If you haven’t, already, go to Compassion’s home page, click on About Us, then Programs, then Child Survival Program. It’s well worth knowing about, although I can’t think of any part of Compassion that isn’t!
