Honoring Rebecca St. James

rebecca saint james More than 16 years ago Rebecca St. James traveled with us to Calcutta, India. On that trip, her heart was deeply stirred by all she experienced. Rebecca was impassioned to find sponsors for the poorest children around the world and she did — 32,197 children to be exact.

Rebecca is moving into a new season of life and we want to honor her and her artist’s heart. So on behalf of our ministry and 32,197 sponsored children, thank you, Rebecca. We are eternally grateful for you.

What an impact! Just think how much more of a result could be achieved if EVERY sponsor was able to promote Compassion to their friends and track their impact! I’m guessing Vision 2020 might be a dream far too small….

Thank you for posting this video (especially on a weekend when I can watch it)! Like Wess’s daughters, I also started listening to Rebecca’s music as an adolescent. I fondly recall concerts, including Creation East where she did exactly as was described-bringing out her Bible and speaking from her heart to the audience. At Creation East over a decade ago, I decided to become a CI sponsor, which has certainly changed my life for the better :-)

Because I am a Girl is a global initiative to end gender inequality, provide girls education, promote girls’ rights and lift millions of girls – and everyone around them – out of poverty

This was a beautiful service in honor of Rebecca – a wonderful opportunity to see how Compassion acts as a family to all it’s partners.
