    There are four types of human malaria: Plasmodium falciparum; Plasmodium vivax; Plasmodium malariae; Plasmodium ovale.

    4 types. I think that with one of the types it comes back and you never fully get rid of it.

    And the answer is …

    Four.

    Four types of malaria infect humans, although only two types cause most deaths. Of those deaths, most occur among young children in Africa.
