How about Philippines independence day??? June 12, 1898.

Christmas is when JESUS our Savior was born and he saved us from the world and set us free from sin and the world!!! Independent from sin and the world and dependent on Him!!! So I thought since we would be travelling to the Philippines during their independence day that could account for Christmas b/c of the independence motif in both!!! If not that is fine!!! But for indepence day in the Philippines I will dunk a basketball for Angelo on a 10ft rim with 2 hands!!! So he will be encouraged not to give up on his dream to become a basketball player!!! That is what I will do 😉

It would be an Ethiopian Christmas :)and I’d probably over spoil the children and their familes. We’d go to church, hear Christmas stories and songs and I’d make sure there was enough food for them to eat for weeks if possible!!

If I could spend Christmas with my sponsored child…I would sing a song from my heart to encourage her.

If I could spend Christmas with my sponsored children I would tell them how much I love them. Of course I would have a big hug for all 3 of them. I’d tell them God loves them, too. It would be a dream come true to see them face to face.

Being with my child would be the biggest Christmas gift, I had ever gotten. (Of course, not counting Christ Himself coming to earth, which is H-U-G-E)

Spending Christmas with my 3 sponsored children would be the ultimate gift. I would spend my time with them enjoying the special day and making it my goal for them to know how truly important and amazing each of them are in their own unique way. I would talk about their dreams and how each are truly reachable.

I would probably be very tearful at first seeing as how we have so much in our country, and then I would just love her and play with her so that my young children would see that they will be family on the other side of heaven.

    She would show me Jesus.

Like Chuck Guth wrote above, I would love to spend Christmas with both the children we sponsor in Honduras. It would be the most unforgettable celebration of Jesus’ birth, an experience and a gift in and of itself.

I’d want to see how they celebrate Christmas, share how we celebrate Christmas, and get to see what their day to day life is like. I would hope to be able to help the community, I have been saving funds to build a well in one of their villages, they need safe drinking water. The gift of Living Water.

    Oh, what a Christmas Dream…

In addition to doing a ton of spiritual things, I would probably do all the things Compassion would rather have us not do (in regards to over-spoiling the children with an abundance of gifts for them and their family).

It would be a very spiritual Christmas for me and my sponsored children.

  12. Crystal December 20, 2008

we would read the Christmas story together, talk about how much God loves us, sing songs and of course, play games – because she’s a little girl. And I would be blessed beyond measure!

  13. Catherine J December 20, 2008

…I would fulfill a dream that she and I share.

From the time that she wrote me, a few months ago, and said that she dreams of spending a Christmas with me, I’ve known that someday I will spend a Christmas in Ecuador.

  14. Chuck Guth December 20, 2008

It would probably be my best Christmas ever. Having three sponsored children in Honduras it would be great for all of us to be together and discover the real meaning of Christmas!

  15. Lisa Miles December 20, 2008

I would just enjoy getting to know him and his family and seeing what their personalities are like, in person. I would also want to see his community, his church, his school. And, finally, I would really focus on God’s blessings. How of all the people in the world, the Lord brought our families together on Christmas — families from opposite sides of the planet — to worship the Lord together.

  16. Gin December 20, 2008

…it would be the best Christmas I’ve ever had!

  17. Juli Jarvis December 20, 2008

I would play a Christmas carol for them on the piano.

  18. Jill December 20, 2008

It would be a special Christmas for both of us!

  19. Sara Benson December 20, 2008

..I would hug her really tight and tell her how much I love her. Then I would make sure that she knew that God sent Jesus because He loves her so much.

It would be a Christmas that I would never forget.

  20. Cissy December 20, 2008

it would be the best Christmas I could get…to be able to meet them, hold them close and tell them how much I love them.

  21. Sarah H. December 20, 2008

It would be one of the greatest days of my life here on earth!

  22. Brittany December 20, 2008

….I’m sure they would remind me of all the special gifts that we receive on a daily basis that are usually forgotten.

  23. Prairie Rose December 20, 2008

I’d have the most meaningful Christmas ever.

  24. Judith Tremblay December 20, 2008

At some point I’d tell him the Nativity story, making sure to mention that he shares a name with the angel that came to Zechariah, Mary and Joseph.
