November is the time of year when many people contemplate the blessings they have in life. And it is no wonder. Since 1863 in the United States, we have had a national holiday set aside to give thanks for God’s blessings in our lives.
Many people spend Thanksgiving day with family and friends, eating a big feast and watching football games. While sharing about all the food at your big Thanksgiving feast would be insensitive to your sponsored children, this month gives us an opportunity to share about the history of Thanksgiving, as well as some of the traditions you have in your family.

I’m ecstatic that I just sent our first email (with pictures!!!)to our boy, Hector! This is going to ensure that we will be writing more often. Of course, the translators might be sick of us writing but that’s a better problem then not writing at all! Thank you for adding this to your features!

Hi -when is this organization going to join the 21st century and start sending the childrens letters via emails -quicker n cheaper n easier on out enviorenment -(less paper used n wasted -)not to mention time involved –
I usually end up receiving my boys letters here about Easter time , wishing me a happy Christmas -AFTER they have been redirected from Thailand -sent to wrong country -I live in Laos , and would really like to have a better way of receiving the mail –

Lyle, I sincerely apologize for the frustration with the very lengthy amount of time that it takes for letters to be delivered in the mail. Please know that we are aware that this is unacceptable. We are actually working hard to bring the emailed letter option to our supporters very soon (in the next few months). Please stay tuned as we roll this out. I am having no problem writing letters to my sponsored child. What I AM having a problem with is scheduling mailings for sufficient lead time for timely delivery in Ecuador! I need to tear apart a calendar and rearrange the months so I have no excuse if my Compassion Calendar says it’s December it will be the 10th month in my “year”. Time to mail Christmas gift package!
