Over on another blog post – Where Do You Sponsor a Child? – several sponsors have been exchanging maps of the countries where we work; maps that list the child development center numbers and give a rough approximation of where the centers are located in relation to one another.
You can now find all of those maps in our Flickr account.

Thanks for doing this! In my last letters I sent my kids maps of their countries and asked them to show me where they lived and send it back. I hope they do!! It’s great to get a feel for how many centers are in some of these countries.

This is wonderful! Both because it makes it easy to see where my kids are, and also because there are sometimes when I want to sponsor a child in a specific area within a country and it is very difficult to find out the project numbers. I really appreciate this!!!

Thanks! As Cheryl says, this is a great tool for Advocates to help people wanting to sponsor a child in a specific area.

Woo hoo! I’ve had an idea where my children’s centers were, but having it “in writing” makes me smile

How great to see where the projects are! I know where my own kids are located but it’s neat seeing just how many different projects there are!

@Kristen – Kristen I like your thinking. I have thought of the same thing. When I visit the Philippines I thought about taking the Philippines map and asking where they live b/c some live far from the city the project is connected to!!!

Can anyone find IN950 – Himalayan Inland Mission (HIM) Child Development Center? I sponsor a child there but don’t see any projects in her area (500km north of Delhi).

I thought that my sponsored child was in Chennai, but it seems on the India map you have nothing there. ??? I’m looking at the last 3 numbers on his number on all our mail – is this the correct number to see where he is on the map?
May 19th, 2009 at 11:26 am
@sprittibee – We have child development centers in Chennai. There are two maps for India. One is labeled East India and the other is labeled India. You want the latter one.
May 28th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
@sprittibee -The number you want is the first 3 numbers after the two-character country code, such as “123″ in IN1234567.

On the Ghana map, it seems to be missing GH 223
September 4th, 2009 at 4:17 pm
@Caitlin – That’s not the only one that seems to be missing.
GH223 should be in the box pointing to Cape Coast.

Thank you. I did notice a few other numbers missing, but I was being a little selfish, I knew GH 223 had to exist because of one of my sponsees.
