It’s Not Too Early for Christmas

paper christmas crafts I’m a Christmas fanatic. My husband learned early on in our marriage to keep his thoughts to himself when I blast the Christmas music and start decorating the day after Halloween each year. I can’t help it. I LOVE Christmas.

I know it may seem a little early, but now is actually the perfect time to get your Christmas gifts and letters in the mail to your sponsored child.

Since it can take two to three months for them to reach your child, you’ll want to make sure your Christmas goodies are mailed to Compassion by October 31, 2012. You’ll also want to make sure that your donations to the Christmas Gift Fund are in by the date as well.

If you’re not quite in the Christmas spirit yet, here are some crafts ideas for items you can send to your child.

A paper ornament (minus the ribbon)

A paper snowflake

Christmas envelopes

A paper wreath

Scripture (printable)

What fun, paper Christmas craft ideas do you have to share?

oh ok the gem is really thick much thicker than a button, I have them and am using them to make ornaments, and the ornament is defiantly thinker than 1/4. And flat ribbon is not able to be sent? Thanks for the reply!

No, you can’t send ribbon. Only paper items.

Regarding the first ornament. I am in the middle of making some almost like that. I wasn’t aware that 3D items can be sent. And the big buttons on them are ok too? Just not the ribbon? Why not the ribbon but big buttons/ Gems are ok? Curious cause if I send some, I hope they will be sent, as they are a ton of work to do!

Yes, you are welcome to send 3D items as long as they are no thicker than 1/4″ thick. I don’t believe there are buttons on the ornament- it looks like glitter glue to me. There might be a decorative pearl in the center, but its hard to tell in the picture. You can decorated your ornaments with glitter, paper, small gems (as long as they’re not too thick), etc. but buttons probably wouldn’t be the best thing to use for decoration.

Great post, Shana! No matter how prepared we think we are, when we need to leave 2 to 3 months lead time on our packages, Christmas can sneak up on us!
I shared a post on this topic earlier this week. I’ve got some more ideas for goodies you can send. Feel free to stop by! http://www.bloggingfromtheboonies.com/2012/09/time-to-think-christmas.html
