Photos Wanted

We have an account at Flickr, a photostream they call it, where we upload our photos … but we don’t get out of the office that often ’cause we be Webbies, so we don’t get a lot of photos to upload.

We’re working on that.

We also have this suh-WEET! Flickr group where anyone can upload photos – even YOU!

Especially you.

Right now, we only have 23 members in the group :-( and 121 photos. But what we do have is … well, why don’t you tell us what you think? And while you’re at it, add something to the stream.

drewfrancis1 took this photo. Click on it and you can see his whole photostream.

And our own Brandy Campbell took this photo when she was in Ethiopia earlier this year.

You remember Eric (aka chappyphoto), right? It’s his photo in the blog’s banner.

All of that is to say this, which if we were following sound web writing pwinciples we would’ve said at the beginning of this bwog post …

It’s time to change our banner. And we want the next photo up there to be yours.

So upload your photos to our Flickr group now ’cause we wanna see what u got.

Great idea – and thanks for the encouragement! I already subscribed to Compassion International Group on Flickr, but didn’t post any photo’s yet – will start working on that NOW! :-)

Do you want lots of photo’s? Or only the “best of”???

  2. Chris GiovagnoniNo Gravatar Says:

Personally, I’d say the “best of” but it’s really the members’ group so upload what you want to share with others.

    Look forward to seeing them.

In some of the photos that were uploaded this morning, I saw one of the child development centers I visited in Kenya in February 2007. I saw the buildings I helped paint and the playground I helped install. It was awesome to see that!!

    Hi Chris,

This is so great to hear! Yeah, this morning I had a bit of time, so I uploaded most of the photo’s I have… :-) And didn’t wait for an answer… Hihi… So it’s up to the people to decide which ones they really like!

So nice to hear that you helped painting and installing at one of the child development centers – it was so wonderful to visit all of these projects!

If you have any particular questions – please let me know! We had a wonderful time and will meet Belinda again in October – we are so blessed that we work in Southern Sudan at the moment and come to Kenya for holidays/R&R so that we can meet with her every once in a while!

Thanks for your reply and keep up the good work! I love the blog!

    Greetings,
    Wendy

Ha! Ha! I didn’t make the connection between your comment/question here and the Wendy in the photos. My mind hasn’t turned on this morning. :-)

Looks like you had a great trip!

I dont have any to add yet, but I enjoyed browsing through the ones uploaded so far.

One thing I love about looking at Compassion photos or videos over others is that it’s not always about the devestation of living in poverty but more so, the hope that the children have through Compassion and Jesus. When you see the children smiling in the pictures, you can’t help but know there is hope for all of them.

Aww, I don’t have any pictures to share :-(

These two photos are great! I’m glad others take better pics than I do!

  8. Melissa CoastNo Gravatar Says:

Aww. me neither Beth…. I guess we can go stand in the “no picture” corner together…. :(

Thanks Abbie for your comment – I totally agree. I uploaded my pictures because you do see despair, but with that you totally see hope that Compassion brings through Jesus Christ! The children smile and have so much hope in their eyes. They believe that through scholing they can do better things for their family… isn’t that great? Praise God!

And to Chris… Yes I had a wonderful amazing trip and looking forward to meeting her in October again! WOW I feel blessed.
