This blog post is about our staff in Haiti. We would like this to be a bulletin board for you to share your prayers and encouragement for them and
with them.
Although many of our staff have suffered incredible losses as a result of this disaster, we are asking them to perform heroically, and they are!
And they’re doing so in the face of loss and widespread devastation that many of us can only imagine. Because we are a world away, it’s easy to overlook that what we’re asking them to deliver must be obtained in the midst of communication and transportation problems, aftershocks and deep personal trauma.
Numerous members of our staff in Haiti are grieving the deaths of family members and friends. Some have lost their homes, and others are injured themselves.
In light of all this, we ask that you leave a comment or prayer to encourage and strengthen them. We guarantee that they will see your comments, even if the comments have to be printed out in order to be delivered. We hope that as communication becomes more reliable, they will have the ability and opportunity to respond to you.
On behalf of our staff and Haiti, thank you.

Still praying for you. We thank and praise the Lord that He has not forgotten you, and that you care for all those precious children so they know they haven’t been forgotten. for. – We also pray that something good will come out of this for your country, that people will turn to His churches and to the Lord. – May the Lord provide you with whatever you need (He knows best what each one of you needs), and may you experience His great love. And may you soon find the children that are still unaccounted for.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Haiti,
We continue in prayer for you daily. At http://www.OurCompassion.org we have a prayer blog for the children in Haiti who were in some way injured by the earthquake. This includes those whose homes were destroyed, and those who themselves still are unaccounted for. In the past week, we have had great cause to rejoice as you have informed several of our sponsors that their children have been found unharmed. When we hear this wonderful news, we remember Our Lord’s parable when the Father cried out “My son, who was dead, is alive”. Also, every week another sponsor writes to us to inform us that their child is still missing. This grieves us, but we know that it is a very hard thing to locate families that may have moved far from their homes to relatives you do not know about, or to a camp which has no system of keeping account of people. We pray for you as you continue to seek out your children and ours. We praise God for your diligence and love, and pray daily for your health and your families and ministries.
Your grateful brother
I continue to pray for all of you.I thank God for all that you are doing and all that you have to do.May God give you all the strength you need to continue His good works.Blessings
Dearest Ones,
May the Lord bless and keep you. May His countenance shine upon you and give you peace. We hold you gently in our prayers, and pray for your healing, courage, strength and rest. May you be encouraged and feel the prayers of others to help sustain you.
My friends in Christ, you are not forgotten. We continue to pray and lift you up to our mighty and powerful God. May He put His hand on you today, renewing your energy and helping you serve. May He open new doors for you and make your path bright. May you see His many miracles, and experience His unending love. Blessings my friends!
As Christian leaders your words and actions help frame the possibilities for your Hatian brothers and sisters. When they see you serving and guiding in love, then they have hope that each day will be a little brighter; that each one of them truly has a promising future; and that this earthquake will not defeat them! This is not a short term mission and it will take great endurance. Only God can provide that endurance. I will continue to pray for His mercy and blessings to overflow on each of you and those you minister to; that He will provide the insight you need to meet your own personal needs and also the needs of others; and that He inspires you through the obstacles you overcome and the victories, both great and small, that you achieve. Although what is happening in Haiti is not on the news daily, please know that many people still lift you up in prayer and are confident that God is accomplishing amazing things through you to bring good out of this tragedy. You continue to be a great blessing!
Thank you so much for all of your love, selflessness, and perserverence for the people of Haiti. All of you there give us so much hope for the brokenness in the land, and I pray that God’s power that fixes it will continue to abound in all of you as you serve and pour yourselves out. His love and compassion is so evident in you all, and we know in our prayers it will continue to sustain you and flow through you. We love you all!
To our faithful brothers and sisters in Haiti. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your families, the children and their families. I want so much just to give you a big hug and not let go in along time. Know that you are doing things that we can’t even imagine here in the United States. May God continue to pour out His blessings and love on you all. Be strong – God is in control. Please hug and kiss the children for us.
Dear brothers and sisters in Haiti,
Thank you so much for the work you are doing there. You are definitely the hands and feet of our Lord. I am praying for you that the Lord will provide you the strength and emotional stamina to keep on serving in the midst of a challenging situation. Know that the Lord keeps you in the minds of His children elsewhere in the world so that we continue to pray and support you. Thank you so much for your hard work once again. You are being faithful in a place where we cannot go…
My heart goes out to you and the people of Haiti. The Lord reminds me often to pray that through your efforts, He will turn the people of Haiti into a nation who praises and follow Him. May He shelter you and them in the shadow of His wings.
Hello Brethren, it is so good to know that in the wake of such disasters, people like you are working so hard to bring hope where there seems to be none. My prayer is that the Lord may continue to strengthen each one of you and meet all your needs. He is the only one who can reward you and he surely will. God bless you.
I hope God continues to strengthen your hearts and hands to handle and address the needs of so many people. The work you’ve been doing is priceless. Keep it up!
My pastor and Dr. Jonathan Olford are coming to Haiti to provide a training to leaders which will help with what your people have experienced. I am hoping that Compassion International is able to go to this training. I was hoping to go on this trip, but I already had something planned.
Ròm 5:3-5 (Haitian Creole Version)
3Nou pa manke kontan menm lè n’ap soufri.
4Poukisa? Paske nou konnen lè n’ap soufri sa fè nou gen pasyans. Lè nou gen pasyans konsa, sa ban nou kouraj pou nou soufri. Plis nou gen kouraj, se plis nou gen espwa.
5Espwa sa a p’ap janm twonpe nou, paske Bondye te fè nou wè jan l’ renmen nou lè li ban nou Sentespri li.
Thank you so much for all that you do! My wife and I are praying for you and your efforts. God bless you all!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I’m thankful to God that He has allowed your hearts to full of love for the people of Haiti and that He has given each of you specifically the opportunity to take care of them. The sacrifices you make are worth it! There is nothing more fulfilling than God’s love working through you. I appreciate all you do! I’m so happy for you to have this privilege. May God’s peace and grace be with you!
We continue to pray that God will provide the physical, emotional, and spiritual strength needed to face your daily challenges. Our cousin and fiance, who get married in a week, have opted to request donations for Haiti rather than receiving wedding gifts. We pray God’s blessings upon them – and you – through this act of kindness.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness and your courage during this most difficult time. I will continue to pray for you. It will be exciting to continue to follow what God is doing there in Haiti. Loss, suffering and death are so very difficult and perhaps you ask “why”. All I know is that God is there and sees and that one day we will see the full picture when we see Him. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.
God Bless You. I just received a letter from the wonderful little girl that I sponsor in Haiti the other day. These letters bring me such joy. Our relationship, which is great for both her and I, would not be possible without your hard work. Thanks again!!
Thank you for all the work you are doing in Haiti! Remember all the prayers that go up for you daily. You are serving Christ as you serve the hurting people. God is with you, and he’ll continue to give you strength. My friends and I are having a garage sale this week and giving the proceeds to the Compassion Disaster Relief fund. It’s a small way we can feel like we’re involved. Praying for you and thanking God for your hands and feet that are being Jesus to this country in need.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The more I learn of our Lord and get to know Him more, the more I come to realize that we do not have a clue the depth and height and breadth of His love for each one of us.
Father, please bless these dear children of yours, and the children they minister to, which a fuller deeper understanding of your love for them. I know that they want your love, and can often be too busy to be still and receive your love. Please breathe on them your quiet love Lord.
In the Love of Jesus
I’m convinced the LORD plans to completely restore Haiti to His ideal–far beyond anything we can think or imagine! You are part of that plan!!! Know that your labor is not in vain. May the LORD continually strengthen you, lead and guide you, protect and provide for you. Thank you for the work you are doing.
The months have come and gone, but you are not forgotten. You are my brothers and sisters. You are loved and prayed for daily. Please know that I can’t be there in person, but my thoughts and prayers are with you each and every day since Jan 12th. I have prayed with you thorugh the census and continue to pray the children will show up. I pray that you will be safe and secure in the office and in your homes. I pray that you will feel safe and secure in our Father’s arems.
Thank you for your hard work, it will not be in vain you are the hands a feet of the Lord Jesus.
I pray Father in Jesus name that you will guide and direct each and everyone of my brothers and sisters to accomplish what you have prepared for them to do.
I pray God to give you his supernatural strengh for what he calls you to do.
Just recently served in Haiti, and what an honor it was. I pray for all the workers still there, that they would be strengthened, and empowered to not just rebuild Haiti, but to advance the Kingdom!
We here in the states have not forgotten the struggle millions of Haitians are going through. We lift you up and are thankful for your continued efforts on their behalf. You have made the decision to follow this through to the end and for that also the people are grateful and have great pride for all you do. You have laid down your lives for others, and your reward I pray will be both in heaven and here on earth where you stand. Thank you. From those of us who can not be there. Thank you.
Yes Thank you for everything you do, you are doing a great job.
Dear Brave Staff,
You are on the front lines but we are behind you holding you and the children up with our prayers for you. Keep holding onto hope and to a better future. Maybe things will ending up being better than they were. May God bless you for all the work you have done during this time of dislocation and hardship. God is more loving then we can imagine and he cares about all of you and will uphold you. With best wishes for all of you. Carol Hallifax/Kansas
Dear brothers and sisters,
We continue to pray for you, and as we are praying for the girl from Haiti we have now decided to sponsor in addition, we will always be reminded to go on praying for you, as you are doing this wonderful job of ministering to the children. May our good Lord attend to your personal needs, whatever they are, and pour out His richest blessings on you. Thank you for your wonderful commitment. – We also pray for the upcoming elections – may they turn out to be beneficial to your country.
May God in HIs Mercy continue to strengthen you and guide your steps as you minister there. Through you, we know, “He has done great things – halleluyah!”
“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.” Psalm 31:24

For all the Brothers and Sisters who continuously let others know the Love of God by your acts of kindness, we thank you!
May God give your the rest you need to offer others rest, may He grant you His sanctuary as you provide others sanctuary, and may He offer a host of others to comfort you in the midst of all the comforting you do in Jesus name.

To Those Involved in the Relief and Ongoing Support Efforts,
Thank you for your daily and hourly sacrifices to serve the Haitian children and their families. In America, we have a tendency to forget as months go by and with the devistation in will take years to recover. As Jesus shared, “Let the little children come unto Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as them” (Mark 10:14b), what an honor to be able to work with the precious ones Christ refers to . Please know that many are continually praying for you and the children of Haiti.
God bless you, your families, and your efforts.
Father, I thank You for providing for many needs in Haiti. I thank You for Your children there who are working to bring hope to others around them. I pray You would continue to provide their every need. I pray You would give them patience when communication and transportation get in the way of their efforts. Please help them solve what problems they can and leave the rest in Your hands. Father, lift them up when they need encouraged. Help them to see the fruit of their labor, and please comfort them when they are saddened by their loss and the loss of their friends. Use this disaster to further Your kingdom in Haiti and bring Yourself glory. Thank You that You care about every hurt, and You can redeem even the terrible things to work good for those who love You. May it be so in Haiti. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ name, I ask these things.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the work you do! How beautiful are your sacrifices, how big are your hearts! I will continue to lift you up in prayer as you work to rebuild and restore what was damaged in the earthquake. May God be rebuilding and restoring your bodies and your spirits as you pour out your time and energy for “the least of these….”!
I sponsor two precious children in Haiti, one lives very close to the eipicenter of the earthquake. I so wanted to be able to something tangible to help Josemie and Johnson, and still desire to do so. This being impossible, I can’t begin to express my gratitude for you who are being the hands and feet of Jesus in my place. Your circumstances have been and continue to be beyond difficult, and your sacrifice is great. I can only say “thank you” and pray that God will bless you richly. I know He will, if not in this life, then in the next — in heaven, where all will be set right. God is good!
“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14
Thank you for filling Haiti with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.
I saw your photos today and learned about your faithfulness
in fulling your calling to minister to children during a tramatic time in your lives and in your country. I’m humbled by your dedication and am thankful for the ways God uses you. I
pray that you will continue to experience strength and guidance
from our Lord. I trust that each of you feel His presence in
tangible ways.
Carry on in the very important work you are doing. Jesus told us how important children are and how we must be like them to enter the Kingdom. As a pediatrician and a mother, I salute you and exhort you to continue in this work that daily seems menial and yet has ETERNAL significance. Thank you for being a part of the Body and laying on comforting hands to the children. I will pray for your perserverance and your own comfort. You are not forgotten,.
Gras ak lape Bondye avek nou! Mwen pa-t suspann priye pou nou nan tout afliksyon nou! I want you to know that as a former missionary to Haiti, in Anse-a-Galets, La Gonave, my heart is with all of you in Haiti! Not a day goes by that I do not have you in my thoughts and in my prayers. I prayer that God watches over you, keeping you tenderly in His care, and that he gives you the strength and faith to continue on in victory! Bon Koraj!
You truly are the Hands and Feet of Jesus Christ. How His Heart grieves over the lives taken in this quake but how His Heart must be moved by the humble, merciful, service of His people down in Haiti- you. And how He is glorified by you and your service as well. I am humbled at your sacrifice and service in such a time as this. God bless you all.
