Richmond — your last statement really impacted me in a big way — “Ultimately, God is the greatest Advocate for children.” That is so true and beautiful! I spoke in a church once and a woman came up in tears and said God had awakened her in the night and told her to sponsor a child in need. Then she said, “I didn’t even know you were coming today, and I knew nothing about Compassion’s ministry.” That’s when I knew that God had already begun the work in this church before I even arrived. Advocates — God IS speaking to His people about helping children in need; we just need to be alert enough to join Him in the work He is already doing around us. Sometimes we even have to stop what we’re doing to join Him.

Thank you for this story, Richmond! I was like that woman, when I first encountered a Compassion table; I had always wanted to sponsor a child, and when I was finally able, financially, to do so, I didn’t know which organization I could trust. As I saw the packets on the table, I said, “I can do this!!” The fourth time I said it, God said, “Yes, you can do it. This is it!” My life took a major turn, that day, and I’ll bet God’s work in that woman through child sponsorship is just beginning.
As an advocate, I have had many occasions when I have approached someone about sponsorship, only to hear them say, “God has been talking to us about sponsoring a child.” I love that!

Richmond,I am so proud of you, and i am so glad that you got where you are, i still tell people in the UK you are my youth pastor, Rem. our mission trip to Wakiso. This is a new generation birthed. I pray that my two sponsored children will grow to be leaders like you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
