Share Summer With Your Sponsored Child

favorite season Summer! It’s my favorite season of the year: flip flops, long sunny days, ice cream, day trips to the beach, fresh produce.

Do you have a favorite season? Most of us do and we all have great reasons why that particular season is our favorite.

Have you asked your sponsored child what his or her favorite season is?

Last summer, my family was able to take a week-long road trip to Colorado Springs for a one-day conference at the Compassion headquarters. We were able to stop at a couple of national parks along the way.

While at the national parks, we purchased postcards and took many photographs. We included the postcards and photos with letters we wrote to our sponsored kids last summer.

Do you have any summer plans with your family? Be sure to pick up some postcards and take photos to include in your next mailing to your sponsored child.

So how about a few questions to ask your sponsored child about summer?

  • What is your favorite thing to do during the summer?
  • Do you go to school during the summer months?
  • Is there a sport you like to play during the summer?
  • What is your favorite thing to eat when it is hot outside?

Now this wouldn’t be a Pinterest post if we didn’t share a couple of our finds with you.

Share about your family vacation with this printable holiday planning sheet:

Part of my last message got lost in cyber space. The link still wasn’t working when I wrote the last message. I just tried it again. It works. Thanks!! I love the template and the domino idea. I wanted to be able to use it.

Maybe someone could email me those two things so I could print them out?

Hi Laura! All of the pin links work now so you should be able to print them out with no problem. Please let me know though if you have any difficulty with them!

This is a good idea for all the seasons, not just summer. My kids love hearing about different seasons and seasonal activities. Most of them live in places where there aren’t any seasons, so I’m not sure summer is much different to them than the rest of the year.

Sharon, our plan is to have some of the future blog posts focus on the other seasons. We know that many of the children probably don’t really have any big changes in their seasons. This gives us an oppportunity to share how God created different the seasons are where some of us live.
