Sponsorship in Six Words

in-six-words It’s said that Ernest Hemingway once wrote a story in just six words.

For sale: baby shoes, never worn.

And called it his best work.

In the spirit of Hemingway’s brevity, and maybe with little help from the Holy Spirit, can you sum up your sponsorship experience in six words?

Here’s what we came up with.

Thought I gave. But I received. – Tim Glenn

Now poverty isn’t just a word. – Becky Tschamler

Random pick doesn’t seem random anymore. – Chris Giovagnoni

Black smiling eyes. World beyond myself. – Amber Van Schooneveld

They focus up. I’m distracted down. – Meredith Dunn

My child shows me Him. – Brianne Mullins

Abundant life for kids in poverty. – David Dahlin

I’ve heard someone say before- “If the Lord leads you to it, He’ll be faithful to lead you through it”. That’s totally right.

He told me at a Mercy Me concert to sponser. Mercy Me had people handing out packets. God led me to get a sponsered child, and so far He’s been faithful to lead my through it!

I just thought I might share that all with you.. When times get rough, I remember that saying..

  163. Nicole July 23, 2009

Jesus cares for all the children.

Taken from that song you probably all know- Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world… Every month, at the beginning, it looks as if I won’t be able to pay the sponsership.. Every month right before I need to pay it, the Lord provides. He gives me the money to keep sponsering my little boy. Thank you Jesus!

As long as our state of living exceeds theirs, we can afford to sponsor.

. . . just a nice reminder in these financially troubling times.

  192. Rachel May 29, 2009

I just came up with these three–I thought that they were pretty good. 🙂 Do you like any of them?

Sponsoring is a chance of a lifetime!

To sponsor is a great priveledge.

Sponsor a child today; it’s wonderful!

Changing lives and sponsoring Kyakunzire Pamela is wonderful!

For only $32 a month, you can change lives!

Sponsorship equals a chance of a lifetime.

Sponsorship is a chance of a lifetime.

Encourage to excell, and be encouraged.

Encourage the child, and be encouraged.

Did any of you find these good?

  193. Rachel May 29, 2009

I really like this one that Mike Stephens thought of–“If I chose not to sponsor”……that’s a great one!! 😀

  194. Rachel May 29, 2009

    @Caitlin

Those first two are great! 😀

  195. Rachel May 29, 2009

Like He loved me, I love His children.

    Blessing and being blessed

    Loving others like He would…

Pamela showed me that you can
    break the chains of poverty.

Sponsoring Kyakunzire Pamela changed my life.

I want to love His children like He did me.

He loves me so very much!

He cares about the poor ones.

Jesus will never forsake the poor.

Tho’ we have everything, they give their all.

Most of these aren’t 6 words, but I thought that they were great anyway…..could you use any of them?
