Thank you so much. I loved this. I want to direct my Compassion team of Advocates in this way -- celebrating the little victories, the step by step process of achieving a goal. This will be helpful as a parent, too -- as I've had my sights on the distant future instead of on the next step to "coach" them along in...

It's sad to think that if you're not in it to win in this world, that you are considered weak or unmotivated.

Excellent point Wes. Just like the throw-ins, I tried to focus on visiting and although that is not the all encompassing part of sponsorship it is a piece of the whole "game" like soccer.

As a soccer referee, it is really enjoyable to watch kids/adults actually play, it is like a dance but sadly most games are not played but merely trying not to lose. I am thankful the Lord encourages us in Hebrews 10:38-39 "to play"

38But the just shall live by faith [My righteous servant shall live [a]by his conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it]; and if he draws back and shrinks in fear, My soul has no delight or pleasure in him.(A)

39But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery (perdition) and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe [who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, the Messiah] and by faith preserve the soul.
