In a developing city in south-central Philippines there is a peculiar little town called Abkasa. It is cut off from the rest of the main city by a single dusty road that is narrow and very bumpy, a couple of kilometers through tall sugar cane.
We began our ministry in Nicaragua in 2002, when the Child Sponsorship Program was started. In just seven years of ministry, we have served over 30,000 children in Nicaragua.
We began our ministry in Burkina Faso in 2004 starting with the Child Sponsorship Program. So far we have 20,000 registered children in Burkina Faso.
Our “Church to Church” initiative, developed with the Willow Creek Association, is attempting to help churches promote genuine cross-cultural church partnerships.
Our Church to Church (C2C) program focuses on building long-term relationships between well-resourced churches in the U.S. and our partner churches in the field. C2C is now active in nine of the 26 countries where we work.
Sneha cried in a shrill voice from her room, “Please somebody save my daughter … he will kill us both!” Neighbors rushed over and broke open the door to find Sneha tied and drenched in kerosene. Her husband had tied her up with her 3-year-old daughter to be burned alive.
