Our Mission Statement Expanded and Explained
By David Dahlin | Categories: Children in Poverty, Sponsors and Donors
Our mission is our enduring purpose. It describes why we exist, what we are passionate about and what our programs are meant to accomplish. It’s summed up in the phrase, “Releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.”
Calling someone “negro chocoano” is offensive; it shows discrimination because of skin color. Juan, a sponsored child, has been deeply hurt by these words.
Our ministry often refers to the “opposite of poverty.” And, you might think that we are referring to wealth. The opposite of poor is obviously rich, right?
