He is an orphan and lives with his uncle last I heard. He just started school last year - even though he was already 10. He sent me a letter showing me how he was learning to write his numbers and letters. The letters have gotten from him over the past year have told me very little about him. I have been writing more specific questions in the hopes of getting to know him better. My boys and I pray for him and his family each night. I have been watching the situation in India with great concern. I am not sure how much he is being affected. I know Compassion will keep me informed if something comes up - but I can't help but worry. Obviously, "affected" is a general term. It can mean something as broad as having violence occur in the neighborhood, which wouldn't prompt a call from us, or as specific as the child is injured in the violence, which would prompt a call.
