I have a little boy in the Sahari Doba Child Development Center. He is an orphan and lives with his uncle last I heard. He just started school last year - even though he was already 10. He sent me a letter showing me how he was learning to write his numbers and letters.

The letters have gotten from him over the past year have told me very little about him. I have been writing more specific questions in the hopes of getting to know him better.

My boys and I pray for him and his family each night. I have been watching the situation in India with great concern. I am not sure how much he is being affected. I know Compassion will keep me informed if something comes up - but I can't help but worry. We will continue to keep him (and all of the other children, families, and Compassion staff) in our prayers!

Pat D.,

If your child is directly affected by the situation, we will contact you as soon as we receive the specific information from the country office.

Obviously, "affected" is a general term. It can mean something as broad as having violence occur in the neighborhood, which wouldn't prompt a call from us, or as specific as the child is injured in the violence, which would prompt a call.

I'm praying for these beloved people..I sponser a child in India with WorldVision. Now, I'm a bit worried. I wish I could just hug these children right now and keep them safe!
May Our Precious Jesus keep the Compassion staff, children and their familes and other Christians safe!!

I sponsor an 18-year-old girl in the CSI Christian Mission Child Development Center project in the Madurai area of India. I have been wondering whether the Christian persecution affected this project.
