wess stafford Our president, Wess Stafford, recently spoke about the passing year at a Compassion chapel service. We hope you are as encouraged by his words as we have been.

God has been faithful to Compassion in 2010, steadying us through some beautiful highs and terrible lows. We will trust in Him in the year ahead because we know He is good!

Happy New Year, everyone.

Amen! God is always good. He is faithful to fullfill what He has called us to do. I believe that your ministry will be blessed this coming year. Many new changes are seasons are coming. I pray that your ministry will continue to do Gods Will.

Thanks you so much — I always love it when you share a chapel service with us. I sat here laughing and crying as I listened to Wess speak. In 1988 I was praying and asking God which child sponsorship organization I should join, which one I could trust. I went out for lunch with a missionary doctor friend from Haiti (whom Wess knows) and she was telling me about a horrible hurricane that had occurred there. I said, “What happens to those people? How do they eat? How do they live through this?” and she said, “Well, of course, the children on Compassion didn’t miss a single meal.” Then she proceeded to tell me all about Compassion’s integrity, principles and effectiveness (she didn’t know a thing about my prayer or quest to find an honest sponsorship agency). I knew immediately that God had answered my prayers and I immediately called to ask for a boy from Haiti. I’m sponsoring his younger brother now, and he’s about to graduate himself. I just attended my first girl’s LDP graduation in Thailand, having received her precious letters since she was 8. I’ve been on the Advocate’s Network since 1994 when I first heard about it. I have witnessed almost all that Wess spoke about here, and can attest to God’s faithfulness and goodness throughout these decades. I’m so glad, thankful and proud to be a part of this ministry!

Wonderful & spectacular! I get the sense that Wess is a humble man and probably doesn’t want to hear this — but he is absolutely a hero for children everywhere. What a wonderful thing to be in God’s kingdom!!!

I would also like to point out that 61 is not old. (That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.) :)

The things that I am most excited about, as a sponsor — 1) Alumni Associations, 2) the Leadership Development program, 3) the Child Survival program and 4) social networking.

That is awesome. Is this transcribed anywhere? I would love to be able to read it over and over, since I read a lot faster than I hear.

I would love to see a blog on each of the presidents with a photo of them. To see the history of Compassion and to see what each of the presidents did to make Compassion what it is this day.

  6. […] Compassion International posted the final chapel with Wess Stafford, I was not surprised to hear him using my word as well.  In fact, it was the key word and […]

    Estimado hno. Stafford:
