World Water Day 2012 – For the Love of Water

I love water.

It’s fun to play in.

It’s beautiful.

It tastes good and quenches my thirst.

But more importantly, especially today — World Water Day — it’s necessary to remember that water is life.

Sadly, however, most of the world is dying of thirst.

The U.N. estimates that by 2025 two-thirds of the world’s population will live in water-stressed conditions. It doesn’t have to be this way.

Celebrate today. Celebrate World Water Day by giving over 1 million gallons of clean water to children living in extreme poverty.

Love the pictures in this post! After reading ‘A Place at the Table’, our family has been having rice and beans for dinner once a week and putting aside money that we would have spent on food for that meal. We have already put aside enough for one Water of Life system through Compassion and are looking forward to putting aside more money through out this year to help families have safe drinking water.

LOVE THIS Yvonne! My family has put on several “rice and bean dinners” where we make up big crockpots of beans and rice cookers full of rice, invite all our friends and their kids, and make an evening of it. We ask our guests to bring whatever they would’ve spent to feed their family dinner that night, then we pool our money and send it off to a worthy international cause. Fun with friends, nutritious meal, and turning something mundane (dinner) into something hopefully eternal!
