There are many organizations in this world building clean water delivery systems in rural areas of the developing world, but the need for safe drinking water in more developed communities gets overlooked.
Communities may have water infrastructures in place, but the water that is distributed is contaminated. Purified bottle water is available in local stores, but not everyone can afford the “luxury” of clean water. Healing Waters International, one of our business partners, is changing that.
Healing Waters International builds water purification systems at local churches in the developing world, and trains the church staff to operate the systems and manage the accounting. The churches then sell the water in their communities, typically for less than a quarter of the cost of store-bought water, and then sponsor community service projects with the revenue that remains.

I just learned of this great ministy! I love the Blood: Water Mission ministry that Jars of Clay partners with and also(I believe..)started up. I am definatly adding this cause on Facebook!
Yes, count them, one by one!!! When I count Compassion I count it many times in many different ways!!! It is very encouraging to see so many sponsors, employees, and advocates working to make a difference!!! Also the kids we sponsor for their faith, perseverence, boldness, prayers and encouragement. I think what I like about Compassion the best is the encouragement I have received through many different people associated with Compassion towards Godliness. I see Godliness as a vibrant life. Living your talents, gifts, desires, enjoyments to the fullest. Maxing out your potential. I greatly enjoy encouraging my Compassion kids towards their God-given DREAMS and FIERCELY pursuing mine as well…I don’t want to be disqualified myself!!! Also the best way I see to encourage my Compassion kids to pursue their dreams is to reach my own!!! How can I say don’t give up on your dreams and mean it if I have given up on mine??? Kind of like Jesus saying “we need to pick up our Cross daily and follow Him” Jesus not only carried His Cross until He was exhausted but died on it for ME and YOU so we could have LIFE!!! I need to walk in that LIFE!!! Thanks for the blog posts I love responding to them!!! There is nothing like living the ADVENTUROUS life with the Lord!!! I think you start to realize how much you can live through!!!

I heard of a young boy whose sponsor family (not Compassion, I don’t think) visited him. At one point in the day, the dad bought bottled water for all of them, and they sat around talking and drinking their water. All except the young boy, who, an hour later, hadn’t even opened the bottle. He just sat there, looking at it.
Finally, after many encouragements to drink up, he said that it was the first time he had ever seen clear water, and it was too wonderful a gift for him to drink it.

Excellent point, I am amazed all the things I take for granted like clean water. If everthing is all set-up and running smooth I think that is normal. If something small goes wrong I often make too big a deal out of it.

It really stinks that so many people die from the water they drink. I speak for myself when I say I take clean water for granted. Everyone deserves to know what clean water tastes like!
