What are the things you do during Easter?
Easter starts with Palm Sunday when we go to church carrying palm branches, tree branches and sometimes flowers. We parade through the community, singing songs and end up in the church building. On Good Friday, we go to church dressed in black to signify that we are mourning the death of Christ. It is always a sad atmosphere. The next Sunday is a happy day. We dress in white or bright color clothes. At church the preaching is on the resurrection and its importance to the Christian. On Monday, churches, families, friends and individuals go on picnics to places of interests, mostly at beaches.
What do you like about Easter?
What I like about Easter is how Christians come together during the period. Easter serves as a period of unification of church members.
What does the death and resurrection of Christ mean to you?
Jesus’ death and resurrection means a lot to me. His shed blood took away all my sins. Unlike the Old Testament days where one has to sacrifice goats, sheep, cows and other animals to pay for sins committed, today Jesus’ death has taken care of all of that. His resurrection assures me that He has conquered Satan. All I need to do now is to believe in Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and direct me always.
What difference does Jesus make in your life?
Without Jesus I would not know God, I wouldn’t have been going to church and I wouldn’t have even tried to do what is right. The child development center revealed Jesus and the Bible to me and it has taught me to be humble and obedient just like how Jesus humbled himself even though he was a king. He even came to serve others.
What will you like to tell people your age who do not know about Jesus? Why?
I will want to say that Jesus is the only one you have to look for. He is the only Savior and when you choose Him as Lord and Savior, you will have everlasting life in heaven
