Please Encourage Our Haiti Staff: Prayers Needed

This blog post is about our staff in Haiti. We would like this to be a bulletin board for you to share your prayers and encouragement for them and
with them.

Although many of our staff have suffered incredible losses as a result of this disaster, we are asking them to perform heroically, and they are!

And they’re doing so in the face of loss and widespread devastation that many of us can only imagine. Because we are a world away, it’s easy to overlook that what we’re asking them to deliver must be obtained in the midst of communication and transportation problems, aftershocks and deep personal trauma.

Numerous members of our staff in Haiti are grieving the deaths of family members and friends. Some have lost their homes, and others are injured themselves.

In light of all this, we ask that you leave a comment or prayer to encourage and strengthen them. We guarantee that they will see your comments, even if the comments have to be printed out in order to be delivered. We hope that as communication becomes more reliable, they will have the ability and opportunity to respond to you.

On behalf of our staff and Haiti, thank you.

Can you provide status of my sponsored child Thania Velcine?

    1. Katherine Brice October 13, 2016

Jason, the information we currently have says that your sweet Thania has not been affected. However, we will contact you if we receive information that says otherwise. We are still collecting information from the field. Thank you for your continued prayers!

Sending comforting prayers of hope & courage to the Compassion Haiti staff, their families, the Child Development Centers ad all our beloved sponsored and unsponsored children.

Is there a link that directly connects giving to the Hurricane Matthew relief?

I also would like to know about how my sponsored child and her family are doing.

    Thank you & God’s Blessings

    1. Katherine Brice October 13, 2016

Darlene, thank you so much for your prayers! If you visit compassion.com, there is a red banner at the top that you can click on to contribute to disaster relief for the hurricane victims. Bredlie is not currently on the list of children who were affected, praise God! We will contact you if we receive information that says otherwise. God bless you!

  3. Karen Crocker October 11, 2016

Prayers for you all. How can we find out if our sponsored child is ok?

    1. Katherine Brice October 12, 2016

Hi Karen! Thank you so much for the love and concern you have for your sweet Jamesy. He is not on the list of children who were affected by the hurricane. However, that list is constantly being updated as our staff in Haiti is visiting each child in the program and assessing their needs. We will contact you if we learn that Jamesy was affected. Please keep all who are suffering from the hurricane in your prayers!

I pray that you be comforted and filled with the Holy Spirit as you advance the Kingdom of God through love. Of all of the callings of Christ, the call to love is the noblest. May Christ richly bless you and strengthen your spirits! As you are the “hands and feet” of Christ in Haiti, I ask that the Lord will fill you with joy, renewed purpose, and renewed vision for the suffering, broken, and lost! Love you all!!!

I pray that you all feel encouraged by the promises left to all of us by the God of peace. He told us in John 16:33 “These things I have spoken that in me you will have peace. In the world you will have much tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world.” Hold on to your faith, and know that even though times are hard, and your work seems to never end, you can rest in the one who asks you to bring your burdens to Him, and He will give you peace! God bless you all!

I pray you will remember that changing the life of a child will impact generations! God bless you!!

I thank God for the work that you do so readily for these children, and I pray that He will continue to strengthen and sustain you especially in times of adversary. Always remember that although the devil seeks to devour, Luke 10:19 states that “He is the enemy, but know that I have given you more power than he has. I have given you power to crush his snakes and scorpions under your feet. Nothing will hurt you”. Stand strong in God, and thank you for the good work you are doing

  11. Stanley March 17, 2014

God knows of your sacrifice and your strong faith and you will receive crowns in heaven. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

I am presently helping with a Haitian Protestant church here in Torbeck, South Haiti : I found one case here of a baby of 6 months raised by the sister of the mother , the mother had the child out of wedlock (raped) an is mentally ill, can`t care for the baby ; the sister asked me if we can sponsor this baby as herself has 7 kids and financially can`t support this baby. I will be leaving Torbeck in 13 days to go back to the USA.

    Lord Jesus,
Strengthen in your Spirit today every worker in Haiti, fill them with Your joy. Remove any obstacles they have in their lives that would discourage them. Fill their hearts with Your compassion and protect their families.

I have been a sponsor to a Compassion child in Haiti for many years. In fact, he is no longer a child. He is 18! I received a letter from him about two weeks ago, and I am very impressed with and proud of the person he has become. I am so thankful for this young man who loves God and who is working hard in his studies. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for helping to release children from poverty. Thank you for your perseverance in times of grief and sadness.

May joy and peace surround you,
    contentment latch your door,
and happiness be with you now
    and bless you evermore!

It has been a couple years since the earthquake yet it seems like just yesterday that the images of Haiti were all over the news broadcasts. It was heart wrenching to watch what was happening there and we prayed as we continue to pray today for Haiti. My son went to Haiti in June of 2012 with a group to help minister in any way they could. He came back with a new urgency to pray. About four months ago I began sponsoring a little girl from Haiti and have really begun to pray for her and her family and also for Haiti. I just wanted to encourage all of you who work tirelessly with little appreciation. God knows your name, where you are, and the deepest concerns of your hearts. He will never leave you or forsake you. His smile is upon you and He appreciates your hard work and your reward will be in heaven and nothing here on earth will ever compare. I want to thank you for all you are doing. You ARE making a difference.

brothers and sisters in the Lord, its times like this when we all pull together to love, pray and lift each other up to the Lord for healing and helping. this whole world is getting ready for the Lord’s return but until he does, we lift each other up to the Lord to comfort, heal, provide and cleanse us as His word says. Be of good faith for He has overcome the world and goes with us HIS children right up to the end. Prayers are with you always…………..

    Hello beautiful Haitians!
I am sorry that I have taken to so long to respond to this blog, but i hope that my message will be delivered to you in the right time. I am Haitian myself and it has been many years since I have been in my country. I would like to come back. It is with great excitement and admiration that I watch and hear of you serving our country, defending the weak and sick, while surrendering to God the strength that you have left to worship him. I am encouraged by your deeds and I praise God for you. Continue to do the good work for your rewards are laid out in heaven in the house of riches of the wonderful Bridegroom, Our Christ. You are the hands and feet of Christ our Lord. He came to deliver the sick and uplift the poor.

    Bless you

I realize that this has been 2 years since the time of the original post. God led me to sponsor a 4 year old boy from Haiti through Compassion International. I don’t know why God led me to do this but I know that I can trust God when he leads me.
I have been sponsoing this boy for about 6 months. In that time I have learned a lot more about Haiti then I would have otherwise taken the time to learn. God bless you Dyasmy and Compassion! I will not only pray for young Dyasmy but I will pray for his country and his leaders that they might see God’s will!

I have been sponsoring my child in Haiti for 4 years and I just recently discovered this website. I didn’t think about the staff who is there in Haiti supporting my sponsored child. I am sorry I have overlooked you. From now on I will include you all in my prayers daily. I thank you for you being servants of our Lord Jesus in ministering to this nation. You are a blessing and will surely be blessed for your work. Never give up hope. You are loved by the most high God. God Bless you…

  22. Leslie Doyle January 4, 2012

Sponsoring a child through Compassion in Haiti is so important to me. I cherish the child I sponsor in Haiti. I believe that it is through the wonderful compassionate hearts of those who serve with Comapassion in Hait, that it is truly the only way that I can communicate and sponsor my child. It takes a village to raise a child, and as an adopted child, I know how important it is to give love with no boundaries to someone you don”t know without questions in your heart. Loving others unconditionally is truly the greatest gift we can give. I pray every day for the people of Haiti, and know that my sponsorship is only possible with the help of those who serve in Haiti. My sponsored little girl is in Grison-Garde. She is now a part of my extended family. I love writing to her, sendign thigns to her, and receiving her letters and drawings.

Never give up on hope-hope for GOD to teach each of us how loving others should always come first.
    God Bless…

    JOY equals :
    J=Jesus
    O= Others
    Y= yourself

Dear workers and staff in Haiti,
Please know that literally thousands of prayers are going up for you on a daily basis. My prayer for you today is that you would allow God to bring comfort to your hurt and wounded spirits. He is the only one whom you can really depend on when you are facing the walls of despair that you must face on a daily basis there in Haiti. May God put His loving arms around you and hug you close to Him and not let go until we see in coming in the sky. And I do believe that the awesome earthquake that you have experienced is a sign of His soon coming. Please don’t get discouraged when things don’t go quite like you want them too because you are just facing the war with Satan. I heard a saying that I think fits here nicely. “If you aren’t at war with the devil everyday then you better check up because something is wrong”. He is constantly roaming to and fro seeking whom he may devour. So please stay faithfuls to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..Sending you this message wrapped in love………………………………………………………………Love Kathy

  24. Sarah December 18, 2011

    Dear Jesus,
Please be with the Compassion workers in Haiti, and the children, as they continue to serve you despite the earthquake, hardship, suffering, and sorrow that they have experienced. Please help them to continue to be a light for you. I thank you so much for the work that they do and for their hearts of service. Please continue to strengthen them.

    Amen

Having visited Haiti in 1998 as a tourist on holiday in the Dominican Republic my abiding memory is of a people with very little if anything of material possesions and of most people with a smile on their face. We crossed the border at Ouinaminthe and drove along dirt roads to a town that I forget the name of where goods from aid packages were being sold in the market. On the way we visited a bakery and a lady who’s home was a 2 room building with a tin roof. As a tourist from a western European country I felt so blessed to be able to travel and see other parts of the world but it left a feeling that people did not need to be in need. So I pray for a more even distribution of the World’s resources and for a regular reminder that I can play a small part.

    Hi My Haitian folks!
I am not quite sure how to address someone who is doing and living, breathing a life of servanthood before my very ears. You are doing the things that I have read about in stories and in the Bible. Oh, now I see that it is many of you that God references in the word when he speaks of those who are faithful, and those whose aroma is pleasing before him because of the righteous heart you possess deep in your soul. I hope to one day join you in the labor that you do. Do not grow weary, for your crown(s) in heaven await you and your treasures are being multiplied each moment that you give away a breath, sweat drop, tears and even blood for the friend, enemy and brother\sister in Haiti.
Thank you for your existence. God Bless.

  27. Jill Slayton August 14, 2011

    Dear Lord Jesus,
Your word tells us you know the needs of your children even before they are spoken. I lift the people of Haiti up to you now. I especially lift up the workers at Compassion International as they seek to be your hands and feet. Be with them, comfort them and prepare them for all you have for them to do. I ask your blessings upon them. In the name of Jesus, Amen

Dear brothers & sisters in Christ,
I want you to know that I am praying for you in Haiti… I can not imagine all of the devastation you must all be going through in so many different ways, but as Believers in Jesus Christ, we know, that we know, that we know, that we know that He is in control. He promises us He will never give you more than you can bear, and that He WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU!!!!! May you hold onto these promises… May God surround you each one w/the Peace that passes ALL understanding, because none of this trauma makes sense. As hard as it is for you adults, image how much worse for the children. I am praying that you can reach out of your own sorrows & troubles to comfort the children that really don’t understand!!!

I have two grown sons and when they were younger I encouraged & taught them that if we were ever involved in any type of natural disaster and separated from one another, not knowing if the others of us were alive or not, to have those moments of trying to find each other, but then realize that because we ALL Love the Lord we were guaranteed to see one another in Heaven. And invest their energies in helping those around them that had or felt no hope!!! Our Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and Righteousness, I dare not trust the sweetest name, but Holy lean on Jesus Name. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand ALL other ground is sinking sand, ALL other ground is sinking sand….

    In Christ’s Love,
    Anita

    Father,
Thank you for the surrendered hearts of those who are serving You in Haiti. Father, you have seen the great sacrifices they have made and are making to share the good news of your kindgom and to minister to the broken in their land. Father, send your Holy Spirit to fill and refresh them. Heal their grieving hearts with your love and comfort. GIve them your strength and provision in every area to serve, and may many souls continue to be won for the glory of Jesus. Help us here to take seriously the call to pray for those who need your supernatural provision to continue. Let us not be indifferent because we are comfortable. Move our hearts with your will and purposes, lead us to humble ourselves, to fast and pray regularly for the sake of our brothers and sisters who depend on your care. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Don’t give up! Don’t give in! When discouragement knocks at the door, look to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. His word tells us He will never leave us or forsake us. He has called you all by name into His service. Be strong and courageous, trusting in our Lord to complete the good work He has started. Thank You for so freely giving of yourselves in these difficult days. I pray out of His glorious riches He refreshes you body, mind and spirit, providing for all of your needs. According to His power that is at work in us and among us. Christ be lifted up! In Jesus Holy Name!

God blesses each of you each day with the ability to touch these children’s lives. maybe one monent with one certain child tomorrow is the reason God placed us on earth at this time. Think of the story of Esther, in the bible. she was in the position she was to be brave and honest at that time, and saved so many. You are the “Esther” each day for these children. We encourage and applaud the care and energy and love you give even when the days and conditions may make you weary. Your work is a glimpse of God’s enduring promise. thanks you and may the Lord bless and keep you.

  48. Beth February 1, 2011

Dear Compassion Staff and church workers in Haiti,
Thank you so much for being the hands and feet of Jesus amidst such darkness. May the God of Abraham give you peace that passes all understanding, grace that flows abundantly and freely over you and through you, and above all His love to do what He has called you to do while you are dealing with your own issues. I encourage you to call upon the promises of God when you get weary because He will give you His rest. Tuck these scriptures away in your heart and meditate on them to soothe your soul and ease your pain. Our God is a God of restoration! He is our provider, Jehovah Jireh! Let His comfort surround you and carry you.
Zechariah 9:12 – Return to the stronghold, You prisoners of hope. Even today I declare That I will restore double to you.

Isaiah 26:3 – You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in you.

Psalm 25:2 – My trust is in you, O my God! …

Thank you so much for helping so many children. You have a special calling on your lives. God bless you richly and abundantly for all that you do in His name. You are touching so many lives and you are helping me to touch lives, too. God’s grace is enough to sustain us through our toughest battles. Thank you for being warriors for His kingdom.

God bless you! Stand firm in the Lord. He WILL provide!
    Beth

    Dear Lord,
Thank you so much for the Compassion staff and church workers that you have placed in Haiti for such a time as this. It has been a long time, a year, since the earthquake. I pray that – just as you have cared for them and used them for your glory this past year – that you would continue to strengthen them especially now. Help them to have tremendous endurance,to stay healthy, to cling tightly to you, and to show your love to those around them. In the midst of this very difficult situation, may those who don’t know you be drawn to you by the love they see from your church in Haiti! And I ask that you would please encourage them, because the road is tough, but their role is so important! Thank you for watching out for them! Thank you for empowering them, and giving them strength! In Jesus’ name, AMEN

Heavenly Father, creator of heaven and earth, we praise Your holy name! We thank you for all the blessing you showered upon us. Thank you for the gift life, family and friends. Heavenly Father,

You have shown me how you keep watch over us all. You know when we rise up and when we lie down. You know when we are devastated by hurricanes and earthquakes, when we are anxious when circumstances are beyond our control.

Thank you for your recent reminders to me that you care about me, and are taking care of me. Thank you for the peace that passes all understanding. I pray, Father, that you continue to watch over my brothers and sisters in Haiti. Give them that same peace, that, even though everything around them is in shambles, you are still constant, and are directing every event that affects them. In everything, may you be glorified.

It has nearly been a year since the devastating earthquake in Haiti. I just wanted you all to know that we are thankful for all the work that you are doing in Haiti. It is hard for us to realize what you all have been through, but you are in our thoughts and prayers. I pray for continued strength to overcome these obstacles, and thank you again for what you are doing in the lives of these children. May God richly bless you and your family.

  74. Chris December 8, 2010

Honestly, I read this text and did not know what to write to you, dear brothers. But, talking to our God, He led me to do a reading in Matthew 13, the parable of the sower. Until then it had not understood what God wanted me to minister to your hearts, but now I understand.
You are great sowers of love and hope of Christ. Christ in us is the hope of glory! And you will be seen through the glory of God. Your life is a perfect testament to the extravagant love of our Jesus is the perfect expression of God’s grace. Feel happy for being chosen to live in these difficult days here in Haiti. You have been chosen for the image and likeness of the creator, were called to bring love and hope to the lives lost. You are true warriors and the Lord’s disciples. And in Jesus’ name, I encourage them to continue to sow, to praise the Lord at all times. To love each person as if it were your last day. God has been looking for you in a very special and certainly he says, “I found those who worship in spirit and in truth, who loves me for who I am and love me with all your strength.” As the Apostle Paul says, we should be happy all the time and you are a channel of blessing to so many people living in Haiti. I believe in the name of Jesus, that through this witness tremendous Our God will save many lives. In the name of Jesus, continue! Go ahead! You are the big winners and I sincerely am glad to know I have brothers as dedicated as you. Brothers who are willing to lose life to find it in Jesus. Brothers who lost loved ones, but that did not stop worshiping and loving Creator. That’s good to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is alive in your heart. You have lost their lives for Jesus’ sake, have lost their choices and so many other things for the love of Jesus. But know …. You chose the best part! haha! Hallelujah! It’s really great to look at you and know that my God is raising a generation strong, altruistic and holy! Which has pledged to lead a genuine gospel … You really brighten my heart. In Jesus’ name, that their wounds are healed today! That their disappointments are healed now! That a new anointing of God be upon you. And walk of faith in faith and be transformed from glory to glory. This is my prayer with all my heart, in Jesus’ name.
And do not hesitate to tell us how you are and how are their expectations. We are here for this! We are your brothers and wherever they are, we are committed to pray for you.
Love them in Jesus Christ, the finisher of our faith.
    With love, Chris. ♥

Matthew 12:15: “Behold my servant whom I chose, my beloved, in whom I delight. I will put my spirit upon him and he will proclaim justice to the nations.”

  75. Malia December 3, 2010

Thank you for your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you to the Port-au-Price and Bourdon staff who made an incredible visit with my sponsored child a reality in August. Your work is not forgotten, and I pray that the Lord fills you with unexplainable hope, energy, and endurance as you continue to face seemingly hopeless circumstances and serve day after day. Trust and believe that when you are weary, Christ’s power is made perfect in your weakness…

  76. Theresa Walker December 2, 2010

I have done four medical missions to Haiti, namely Chansolme in the North, and I have seen the courage of the people. I was blessed to have participated and have had a heart for Haiti since 2006. I have three beautiful children whom I sponsor and they are all charming and wonderful! Thanks for all you do to help us, you are all assured a place in Heaven for what you have sacrificed. May Gods blessings be on you!

  77. Barbara Ferraro December 2, 2010

As we begin the season that recognizes the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, I add my prayers to others that God will continue to bless you with His grace and that He will bring beauty from ashes. God bless all of you in the name of Jesus Christ.

  79. Doris December 2, 2010

As I look at your staff photo my heart is so wishing I could be there and hug and help each one of you but I can’t. I know Someone who can and He is there, lean on him. When we rest on Him He renews our strength. I know because He does that for me over and over. Trust Jesus, don’t give up ever! I and many others pray for you daily. God, let them feel our prayers and your presence and strenght this day and every day thru this trial, Amen!

  80. Renie December 1, 2010

Here in the US it is hard to imagine what you have gone through and are continuing to struggle with. But you are under the watchful eye of a loving Father who takes delight in His children. Especially when they are working on His behalf. Know that your suffering will turn to gladness. It will strenghten you and build your character, a strenght that you will need in the future and in eternity. Nothing wasted by our God.

  81. Maria November 22, 2010

You are not forgotten, you are in our prayers and thoughts. Thank you for all you are doing and may God be near each one of you.

  82. Toni November 21, 2010

The Wall Street Journal has an editorial saying that the US and the UN SHOULD DO SOMETHING! about the corruption in Haiti that prevents aid from reaching people. I’m so very grateful to know that you all are DOING SOMETHING already, day in and day out, and have done so every day since the quake hit nearly a year ago.

We who sponsor children can’t imagine what hardships you suffer to go on being Jesus’s hands and feet and voices to one of the most impoverished peoples on the face of the earth. We can — I can — only praise you to the Lord and beg His aide to you and His blessings upon you.

You are truly Suffering Servants. Thank you.

  83. Doris November 9, 2010

I keep you all in my prayers and thank God for you. My son’s family sponsors a little girl there named Wismithe and we pray for her, too. Thank you for all you do as you serve in the name of Jesus. You are NOT forgotten. I am praying God will heal and stop the spread of the cholera. Philippians 4:13 says that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. May He continue to give you the strength and the resources you need to be His Hands there in Haiti. Soli Deo Gloria! ( to God alone the glory).

  84. Joel Haubenstock November 8, 2010

Thank you for serving the children and their families as Christ has, and is serving us in this world. This Scripture comes to my mind. He knows the way that I take-
    When He has tried me-
I shall come forth as Gold. Job
Nothing done for Christ is Ever lost. Love in Christ, Joel

Dear Haiti staff of Compassion Internation

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and those of my Church, Calvary Baptist Church here in Bishop California. I have myself survived 6 very major earthqueakes and understand the terror and disbelief. I am sending prayers that you are able to get through one day at a time for that is all the Lord guarantees us is this day and that when you feel as though you may not make it one more day that the Lord gives you the strength to do this. Sending you blessings:)

  88. rooksher October 22, 2010

May the Lord of Heaven and Earth glorify Himself through you and your tireless perseverance. May He bless you and all you bless and and all those who bless you. May He give you the strength through His spirit run with perseverance the race marked out for you. I pray He guides you to fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Amen.

  89. DUANE WATTS October 22, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Haiti:
As you work tirelessly to complete your mission, please remember that Adam and Eve were created before the children, and the children were created before the neigbors. And he who does not provide for his own family is….Please remember to continue in service to your families. It is very difficult to recover your family from neglect. I pray you, love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind and strength, and love your wives as Christ loves His church and gave Himself for her.

  90. Jean October 22, 2010

I am so grateful for the work you do. I pray you will be blessed beyond measure!

  93. Heather September 25, 2010

Thank you my brothers and sisters in Christ. You are truly men and women after God’s own heart. You are there in Haiti supporting his children and showing them the love of our wonderful savior. Jesus said “If you love me, you will do even greater things than I” (Not a direct quote”. May the Lord Bless you and keep you, may he make his face to shine upon you each and every day. Remember God loves you and will uplift you. You are in my heart and my prayers.

  94. Jason September 23, 2010

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Cor. 15:58)

When it’s hot and sweaty and mundane and average and relentless, remember Paul above.

  95. Jon S. September 23, 2010

Thank you for loving your neighbors – for demonstrating what is so easy to speak of but so hard to do. I can’t imagine what you all have done to help the people of Haiti who continue to suffer. Thank you for remaining in the trenches of ministry while the rest of the world has moved on. May God bless you and keep you, may the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you, may the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace (Num. 6).

  96. DUANE WATTS September 21, 2010

Carry on in the very important work you are doing. Jesus told us how important children are and how we must be like them to enter the Kingdom. As a pediatrician and a mother, I salute you and exhort you to continue in this work that daily seems menial and yet has ETERNAL significance. Thank you for being a part of the Body and laying on comforting hands to the children. I will pray for your perserverance and your own comfort. You are not forgotten,.

  103. Janice Hughes August 31, 2010

Thank you for filling Haiti with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord.

  105. Lori Brandt August 31, 2010

I sponsor two precious children in Haiti, one lives very close to the eipicenter of the earthquake. I so wanted to be able to something tangible to help Josemie and Johnson, and still desire to do so. This being impossible, I can’t begin to express my gratitude for you who are being the hands and feet of Jesus in my place. Your circumstances have been and continue to be beyond difficult, and your sacrifice is great. I can only say “thank you” and pray that God will bless you richly. I know He will, if not in this life, then in the next — in heaven, where all will be set right. God is good!

  106. Susanna August 31, 2010

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the work you do! How beautiful are your sacrifices, how big are your hearts! I will continue to lift you up in prayer as you work to rebuild and restore what was damaged in the earthquake. May God be rebuilding and restoring your bodies and your spirits as you pour out your time and energy for “the least of these….”!

  107. RD August 31, 2010

Father, I thank You for providing for many needs in Haiti. I thank You for Your children there who are working to bring hope to others around them. I pray You would continue to provide their every need. I pray You would give them patience when communication and transportation get in the way of their efforts. Please help them solve what problems they can and leave the rest in Your hands. Father, lift them up when they need encouraged. Help them to see the fruit of their labor, and please comfort them when they are saddened by their loss and the loss of their friends. Use this disaster to further Your kingdom in Haiti and bring Yourself glory. Thank You that You care about every hurt, and You can redeem even the terrible things to work good for those who love You. May it be so in Haiti. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ name, I ask these things.

To Those Involved in the Relief and Ongoing Support Efforts,

Thank you for your daily and hourly sacrifices to serve the Haitian children and their families. In America, we have a tendency to forget as months go by and with the devistation in will take years to recover. As Jesus shared, “Let the little children come unto Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as them” (Mark 10:14b), what an honor to be able to work with the precious ones Christ refers to . Please know that many are continually praying for you and the children of Haiti.

God bless you, your families, and your efforts.

We continue to pray for you, and as we are praying for the girl from Haiti we have now decided to sponsor in addition, we will always be reminded to go on praying for you, as you are doing this wonderful job of ministering to the children. May our good Lord attend to your personal needs, whatever they are, and pour out His richest blessings on you. 120. Bonnie August 14, 2010

We here in the states have not forgotten the struggle millions of Haitians are going through. We lift you up and are thankful for your continued efforts on their behalf. You have made the decision to follow this through to the end and for that also the people are grateful and have great pride for all you do. You have laid down your lives for others, and your reward I pray will be both in heaven and here on earth where you stand. Thank you. From those of us who can not be there. Thank you.

  121. Nick July 27, 2010

May the LORD continually strengthen you, lead and guide you, protect and provide for you. Thank you for the work you are doing.

  126. DUANE WATTS July 22, 2010

    Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The more I learn of our Lord and get to know Him more, the more I come to realize that we do not have a clue the depth and height and breadth of His love for each one of us.
Father, please bless these dear children of yours, and the children they minister to, which a fuller deeper understanding of your love for them. I know that they want your love, and can often be too busy to be still and receive your love. Please breathe on them your quiet love Lord.

These brothers and sisters in Hati have been given the bread of adversity and the waters of affliction but we know and have faith that you will show yourself mighty in their midst and complete the work you have begun. We praise your mighty and glorious Name. Amen

  131. Brooke McDonald July 4, 2010

Thank you for all the work you are doing in Haiti! Remember all the prayers that go up for you daily. You are serving Christ as you serve the hurting people. God is with you, and he’ll continue to give you strength. My friends and I are having a garage sale this week and giving the proceeds to the Compassion Disaster Relief fund. It’s a small way we can feel like we’re involved. Praying for you and thanking God for your hands and feet that are being Jesus to this country in need.

  132. Roberta D’Achille June 27, 2010

God Bless You. I just received a letter from the wonderful little girl that I sponsor in Haiti the other day. These letters bring me such joy. Our relationship, which is great for both her and I, would not be possible without your hard work. Thanks again!!

  133. Beulah Magee June 13, 2010

Thank you so much for your faithfulness and your courage during this most difficult time. I will continue to pray for you. It will be exciting to continue to follow what God is doing there in Haiti. Loss, suffering and death are so very difficult and perhaps you ask “why”. All I know is that God is there and sees and that one day we will see the full picture when we see Him. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

  134. Dave & Janice June 13, 2010

We continue to pray that God will provide the physical, emotional, and spiritual strength needed to face your daily challenges. Our cousin and fiance, who get married in a week, have opted to request donations for Haiti rather than receiving wedding gifts. We pray God’s blessings upon them – and you – through this act of kindness.

  135. Hannah June 12, 2010

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I’m thankful to God that He has allowed your hearts to full of love for the people of Haiti and that He has given each of you specifically the opportunity to take care of them. The sacrifices you make are worth it! There is nothing more fulfilling than God’s love working through you. I appreciate all you do! I’m so happy for you to have this privilege. May God’s peace and grace be with you!

  136. Luke & Julie June 9, 2010

Thank you so much for all that you do! My wife and I are praying for you and your efforts. God bless you all!!

  137. Cam Brown June 7, 2010

My pastor and Dr. Jonathan Olford are coming to Haiti to provide a training to leaders which will help with what your people have experienced. I am hoping that Compassion International is able to go to this training. I was hoping to go on this trip, but I already had something planned.
    Ròm 5:3-5 (Haitian Creole Version)
3Nou pa manke kontan menm lè n’ap soufri.

4Poukisa? Paske nou konnen lè n’ap soufri sa fè nou gen pasyans. Lè nou gen pasyans konsa, sa ban nou kouraj pou nou soufri. Plis nou gen kouraj, se plis nou gen espwa.

  138. Flavia June 7, 2010

I hope God continues to strengthen your hearts and hands to handle and address the needs of so many people. The work you’ve been doing is priceless. Keep it up!

  139. Stella June 6, 2010

Hello Brethren, it is so good to know that in the wake of such disasters, people like you are working so hard to bring hope where there seems to be none. My prayer is that the Lord may continue to strengthen each one of you and meet all your needs. He is the only one who can reward you and he surely will. God bless you.

  140. Evelyn Owens June 5, 2010

My heart goes out to you and the people of Haiti. The Lord reminds me often to pray that through your efforts, He will turn the people of Haiti into a nation who praises and follow Him. May He shelter you and them in the shadow of His wings.

  141. Ching June 3, 2010

Dear brothers and sisters in Haiti,
Thank you so much for the work you are doing there. You are definitely the hands and feet of our Lord. I am praying for you that the Lord will provide you the strength and emotional stamina to keep on serving in the midst of a challenging situation. Know that the Lord keeps you in the minds of His children elsewhere in the world so that we continue to pray and support you. Thank you so much for your hard work once again. You are being faithful in a place where we cannot go…

  142. nelda hawley June 2, 2010

To our faithful brothers and sisters in Haiti. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, your families, the children and their families. I want so much just to give you a big hug and not let go in along time. Know that you are doing things that we can’t even imagine here in the United States. May God continue to pour out His blessings and love on you all. Be strong – God is in control. Please hug and kiss the children for us.

  143. Allison June 2, 2010

Thank you so much for all of your love, selflessness, and perserverence for the people of Haiti. All of you there give us so much hope for the brokenness in the land, and I pray that God’s power that fixes it will continue to abound in all of you as you serve and pour yourselves out. His love and compassion is so evident in you all, and we know in our prayers it will continue to sustain you and flow through you. We love you all!

  144. Cletha June 2, 2010

As Christian leaders your words and actions help frame the possibilities for your Hatian brothers and sisters. When they see you serving and guiding in love, then they have hope that each day will be a little brighter; that each one of them truly has a promising future; and that this earthquake will not defeat them! This is not a short term mission and it will take great endurance. Only God can provide that endurance. I will continue to pray for His mercy and blessings to overflow on each of you and those you minister to; that He will provide the insight you need to meet your own personal needs and also the needs of others; and that He inspires you through the obstacles you overcome and the victories, both great and small, that you achieve. Although what is happening in Haiti is not on the news daily, please know that many people still lift you up in prayer and are confident that God is accomplishing amazing things through you to bring good out of this tragedy. You continue to be a great blessing!

  145. Teresa May 27, 2010

My friends in Christ, you are not forgotten. We continue to pray and lift you up to our mighty and powerful God. May He put His hand on you today, renewing your energy and helping you serve. May He open new doors for you and make your path bright. May you see His many miracles, and experience His unending love. Blessings my friends!

  146. Cheryl Nehnevajsa May 3, 2010

    Dearest Ones,
May the Lord bless and keep you. May His countenance shine upon you and give you peace. We hold you gently in our prayers, and pray for your healing, courage, strength and rest. May you be encouraged and feel the prayers of others to help sustain you.

  148. DUANE WATTS May 1, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Haiti,
We continue in prayer for you daily. At http://www.OurCompassion.org we have a prayer blog for the children in Haiti who were in some way injured by the earthquake. This includes those whose homes were destroyed, and those who themselves still are unaccounted for. In the past week, we have had great cause to rejoice as you have informed several of our sponsors that their children have been found unharmed. When we hear this wonderful news, we remember Our Lord’s parable when the Father cried out “My son, who was dead, is alive”. Also, every week another sponsor writes to us to inform us that their child is still missing. This grieves us, but we know that it is a very hard thing to locate families that may have moved far from their homes to relatives you do not know about, or to a camp which has no system of keeping account of people. We pray for you as you continue to seek out your children and ours. We praise God for your diligence and love, and pray daily for your health and your families and ministries.

    Your grateful brother

  149. Marianne April 27, 2010

Still praying for you. We thank and praise the Lord that He has not forgotten you, and that you care for all those precious children so they know they haven’t been forgotten. for. – We also pray that something good will come out of this for your country, that people will turn to His churches and to the Lord. – May the Lord provide you with whatever you need (He knows best what each one of you needs), and may you experience His great love. And may you soon find the children that are still unaccounted for.

  150. Ashley April 21, 2010

I pray that in this, the most difficult of times that your hearts would be fettered to Jesus Christ, trusting Him and watching Him be faithful to show up every time your hearts cry out to Him. It is when we’re hurting that we are drwn closest to Him. I pray that this is a time of growth, restoration and recovery for you.

    In JESUS’ name, Amen.

  151. Michael English April 8, 2010

I am praying for grace and strength for all the Compassion
staff in Haiti! Thank you for serving all the families and children in spite of your great personal losses and turmoil. I pray God will bless you greatly and give you great joy in your efforts. I sponsor a child named Makenson Vitale. He attends the Vertieres Child Development Center. I pray that he is still alive.

    Love In Christ,

    Michael English

  152. Dana April 7, 2010

Just wanted to let you know that we are with you and we are praying for you. You have been on our hearts since we were first gripped by the tragedy unfolding on Haiti. You are amazing people!

Last week I added a little Haitian girl to my Compassion family. I had noticed Compassion Canada finally had Haitian children posted – maybe about 30 or 40 – and had noticed a set of twins. I came back the next night and almost half of the children were gone, including one of the twins. I couldn’t let one twin be sponsored and not the other. I wanted some way to reach out and let Haiti know we love you and we are praying for you. sponsoring a child seemed a tangible way to connect with Haiti and remind the Haitian people that we have NOT forgotten and that we will be with you for the long haul. My little Christine and her twin sister, Christina, are in Project 763, which is right in Pout-au-Prince as far as I can figure out.

We’ll keep praying for your country and for the work you are doing, in the midst of so much tragedy and heart-ache.

  153. Tammy April 5, 2010

God bless you all for all you do! Our prayers are with you.

  154. Heather March 31, 2010

You all are angels! I was in Haiti on my first mission trip when the earthquake occured working With a mission a few hours away from Port-Au-Prince. I saw the heart of the Haitian people so much in the hours and days that followed. The Haitians that worked for the mission came to right away, even though they had families and houses out in the destruction they came to us. They were praising God in the even as the tremors occurred almost constantly. The Haitian men stayed up all night long and watched over us while we slept at night because we were sleeping outside and our security walls were down. They were our angels every moment. And the night we left for Haiti, they prayed for hours because they knew our journey to Port-Au-Prince would be a dangerous one. Many of them lost houses and family but they were their for US. Thank you for the work you are doing, because I know these same things can be said of you. You are an amazing people!

  155. DUANE WATTS March 27, 2010

    Good Morning Brothers and Sisters!

  156. Marianne March 26, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Haiti,

As Compassion keeps us updated on your lives and faithful service, we cannot but marvel at what you do and how you do it, and thank the Lord for it. You are doing this despite the unimaginable losses and grieving, which only two months on are certainly not gone. Please know that we still are with you daily in our thoughts and prayers. May the Lord heal your wounds as you seek His comfort. The Lord says: “I will make you well again; I will heal your wounds” (Jer. 30:17). – May the Lord also renew your strength, may He protect you, and may He pour out his blessings on you so that you may be a blessing to those you minister to. I commit you all to His loving care.

  157. Soo Ai Kudo March 26, 2010

    Dear God and our Father,
I bring before you my brothers and sisters in Haiti who are working so sacrificially in Your name, dependent on it at the same time. Bless them as they bless the little children and families that they are serving. Please give them great wisdom in the big and small decisions they make daily. May they be decisions that will lay the foundation for greater works in the future in Your name. Please take tender care of each one of these brothers and sisters and their own families, their spiritual, emotional and physical well-being; pour Your living waters upon them as they pour it on those they serve. Strengthen them when they feel weak, and protect them from the evil one. More than that, give them victory over the evil one in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. And dear Lord, in your mercy, please keep the expected rainfall over the areas where the agriculture needs them, and away from the areas where it will increase the hardship and suffering of those without homes.
In the might and merciful name of Jesus Christ I pray.

  158. DUANE WATTS March 20, 2010

    Dear Brothers and Sisters:

I listened to a 44 minute message today from Brother Wess Stafford. I cried many tears to hear of the many losses, much sadness, and many challenges you have faced. I also cried many tears of joy for the faithfulness of our Lord as Brother Wess told of your faith and dedication to continue to serve the Lord by serving your brothers and sisters and neighbors. We continue to pray for you daily. Thank You for continuing to care for the Lord’s children.

    Your Brother

  159. Pat March 20, 2010

  164. Madeleine Huebl March 8, 2010

Thank you for your work of service to our Lord, the children and their families. Please remember even Jesus would go to a quiet place to get away from the crowds and to be with his father. I would encourage you to draw strength by quieting yourselves in the Lord’s presence and drawing from the Living Waters of Christ. May your hearts be encouraged and lifted up knowing that many stand with you in faith, with hope for the future. Blessings to you all.

  165. Duane Watts March 5, 2010

I don’t think I could express it or pray it better than Elaine above. I will add to that, we are praying for you all (staff and beneficiaries)that you have the Lord’s protection: warmth and dryness, against the rainy season. That there will be no mudslides. We ask you Lord that you provide only enough rain to fill cisterns, and provide for crops. please Lord, protect your people from the harmful effects of being wet many hours a day. Also Lord, we ask in advance, please prepare weather systems so that the hurricane season bypasses Haiti, with no more than a useful amount of rain, and no harmful wind. We know O Lord that the wind and the waves and the rain know your voice and obey you.
We know Lord that you love your people in Haiti, and all of the children. Please bless the Compassion staff there with their churches to be the feet and hands and eyes, ears and voice of Jesus.
Staff, we will hold you and your families up to the Lord in prayer every day. Jesus Loves You!

    Your Grateful Brother

Blessings on each of you, we have not forgotten you–you remain in our thoughts and prayers

    Dear Family,

God Loves You. In the midst of the pain, loss, hurt, brokenness and confusion, you are ALL still in His Hands.

May His Unspeakable Peace leave the Heavenly shores right now and fill your hearts, minds, souls and spirits. I pray that Peace brings with it the conviction of freedom and serenity that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, could ever possibly separate You from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. There may be silence but You’re on His mind 24-7-265.

    Dear Precious Haiti Staff,

Since the moment I heard about the earthquake, my concern and prayers have been with you. I pray that you will not grow weary in doing good and that the Lord strengthens you all for the task at hand. He is faithful.

I have had this verse for you on my heart, that the Lord will:

…give a crown of beauty for ashes

…a joyous blessing instead of mourning

    …festive praise instead of despair.

In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.

    (Isaiah 61:3)
    Amen.

My love and prayers continue to be with you,

    Janice Abdalla
(former co-worker from the FL office)

    To the workers in Haiti,
You are such a blessing to God by serving the Haitians. I pray the prescence of God fills you all right now in Jesus name. I pray Ephesians 4:16-21 that you would be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, that you would be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ and know His love “that you may be filled up to all the fulness of God.”
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory”.

Psalm 5:11-12 But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You REJOICE; let them ever sing and SHOUT FOR JOY, because
    You
    make a COVERING OVER THEM and defend them;
let those also who love Your name be JOYFUL in You and be in HIGH SPIRITS.
For You, Lord, will bless the righteous; as with a
    SHIELD You will SURROUND HIM
    with goodwill.

Psaume 5:11-12 Alors tous ceux qui se confient en toi
    se réjouiront,
Ils auront de l’allégresse à toujours, et tu les
    protégeras;
Tu seras un sujet de joie Pour ceux qui aiment ton nom. Car tu bénis le juste, ô Éternel! Tu l’entoures de ta grâce
    comme d’un bouclier.

    2.His protecting cover OVER you
    3. His shield AROUND you

He loves you from the inside out!

  190. Cynthia Henzler Servito February 11, 2010

    Dear Heavenly Father:
Continue to keep all of your children of all ages under your wing of protection and refugee. Provide for all of their needs with joyful abundance and may that abundance radiate onto others. Fill each of the staff with Jesus’ glorious love overflowing. May Jesus put a healing hand on all of them and whom they touch to comfort those that mourn and heal any spiritual, mental and physical injuries. May all of the staff’s heart, minds and ears hear the Holy Spirit’ guidance and make haste to its bidding. Lord, we pray for a great harvest of souls not only in Haiti, but throughout the entire world that is watching closely and being affected.
Thank you, Heavenly Father in Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

  191. Rosie Mizell February 11, 2010

You have been on my thoughts and in my prayers ever since the Earthquake. I wish so much that I could be there to serve you who do so much for our children. Thank you for all you are doing in the mist of such heartbreak. Know that you will continue to be in my prayers. I’m so thankful for you and ask that God hold you all in his precious hands as you continue to show his light to the world.

  192. Pua Coffman February 11, 2010

Father God, I ask that you would give the Compassion staff supernatural strength as they continue to pour into a broken community. I pray that you would care for their emotions as they process the devestation around them. Thank you that Haiti is not God-forsaken, but God-infused! Thank you that you have called forth your light-bearers to be your hands and feet in Haiti. God I pray for your mercy and protection to guide every staff member individually. I pray that there would be the safety of your wings around them, and I pray that you would make communication between staff members and their families successful and encouraging. Thank you for your love for Haiti and for the staff members. May you be glorified in our prayers and their efforts. I ask all of these things in the strong name of Jesus, amen

  193. Kent Silveira February 11, 2010

    and
the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

4 weeks later…we’re still with you, still caring, still praying

  198. Jennifer Steigenberg February 9, 2010

    To my Brothers and Sisters,

I cannot comprehend your pain, your loss, your sadness. But I do know that God holds you in His hand, and He sees your sacrifice, your compassion for people, your hearts for him. And He can and will sustain you through this horrific time. Thank you for the work you are doing to help families recover and begin again; may the same be true for each of you and your households. I pray for His comfort, His peace, His energy, and His blessings on each of you as you do His will.

God bless you in your work.

    Dear Staff,
I see your photographs. I don’t know your names. But your hearts are familiar to me. They are hearts full of love and compassion and self sacrifice. I am so sorry for your personal loses. God sees you and all that you bear. I pray that He will lighten your load and comfort you with only the kind of comfort He is able to bring. I pray that He will restore what you have lost and give you strength and peace.

    Love your sister in Christ,

  208. Shaun Caraway February 8, 2010

    Haiti staff,

I just wanted you to know that you are not forgotten and that there are people still praying for you, the kids, the churches, and your country. I cannot imagine what you have been through!! I pray God will continue to give you peace and strength during this time of sorrow, yet must-continue work for His kingdom. Your are laying up treasures in heaven where moth, and rust, thieves, and earthquakes cannot destroy. I have not had the priviledge of coming to your country on a trip, but knowing Compassion and what they expect out of the country staff’s, I am certain you are absolutely wonderful men and women of God!! I know that He will uphold you in this time of trouble. Take care of yourselves so you can take care of His kids!! God bless!!!

  209. Sheryl February 8, 2010

Tears fill my eyes and my heart is overwhelmed with sadness when I think of the loss that Haiti has endured. The child I sponsor lived in one of the hardest hit areas. Thank you for being the heart, feet, hands, words, ears of our Lord. Grace to all of you. May God bless you richly for your service to those who need you so.

  210. Moriah February 8, 2010

I was encouraged today by the words of several of the Psalms. Wanted to share them with you to encourage you too. I am praying for you!

    Moriah

    Sòm 10:17-18:
“Seyè, w’a koute moun ki soumèt devan ou lè y’ap lapriyè. W’a ba yo kouraj. W’a tande rèl moun y’ap peze yo, rèl timoun ki san papa yo. W’a fè yo jistis. Konsa, lèzòm ki fèt ak pousyè tè p’ap kapab fè moun pè ankò.”

    Sòm 12:5-7
“Y’ap peze malere yo. Pòv yo ap soufri, y’ap plenyen. Men, Seyè a di: M’ap vini koulye a. M’ap ba yo sekou y’ap tann lan. Pawòl Seyè a se bon pawòl. Li tankou lajan yo pase sèt fwa nan dife pou wè si li bon. Ou menm, Seyè, w’a toujou defann nou! Pa kite moun sa yo fè nou anyen!”

  211. Jeanette Parks February 8, 2010

My husband and I are praying for restoration, peace, and safety and healing for the Haitians, and that Compassion will be used mightily for Our Lord’s glory in assisting those in need.

God bless you in your work– well done, good and faithful Servants….

  212. Jennifer Washburn February 8, 2010

Dear Compassion Haiti staff, Thank you so much for working hard during this difficult time. I know that God will help you. Thank you for helping the children, including my child that I sponsor. “There is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God through Jesus” Romans 8:31

  213. Elizabeth Marvin February 8, 2010

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging … “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
    The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalm 46:1-3 & 10-11

We are continuing to pray for you and your families. I can’t even imagine how hard this situation is for you, but I pray that God continues to give you strength.

  214. Elizabeth Marvin February 8, 2010

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

  215. Caitlin February 8, 2010

Thank you for being there, even when it is scary, and unpleasant is not a strong enough word. I am thankful for you every time my sponsored child comes to mind, and I begin to worry. Where I want to search out my child, and hug her, and protect her, and feed her, I cannot, but you, who have already suffered so much, can comfort and provide for these people I have come to love so much, and you are. Instead of fleeing, you have stayed to care for my child, our sponsored children and their families. I know it takes courage to to stand and be the stability in a chaotic world, and it takes a strong will to stand long enough to find that courage. I am praying that God makes his presence and comfort known in your hearts, and his mercy and love known in your country, and gives you guidance, and an unnatural amount of faith and hope. Again, thank you.

  216. Sarah Hampton February 7, 2010

Don’t lose hope, friends. You are treasures. Praying for you and your country. The love of Christ is your strength. We love you.

  217. Duane Watts February 7, 2010

I wanted to add, I am praying with tears many times each day for the little girl whom we will sponsor once children become available again in Haiti. I am also praying for her staff and family. Only God knows who these people are, but He does know already, as I pray for the unknown.

    Your Brother in
    Kutztown PA

  218. Duane Watts February 7, 2010

    Dear Brothers and Sisters:

Please know that your work (every moment) bears eternal fruit to your account. May the love of Jesus overflow you into every soul you contact, that the world may know that the LORD, HE IS GOD.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for loving freely and reaching out as Christ did. You are my heros. God Bless you all.

  224. The Chan Family February 6, 2010

Hold fast and know that God is with you through all adversity. Your commitment and sacrifice is an encouragement to us all. We wrote a check today in support of Compassion’s efforts. Our six year old contributed $2 from his $6 savings, and our three year old contributed a quarter. We pray these “widow’s offerings” will lift you up as you continue to do His work.

  225. Miclans Gaudin-Smith February 5, 2010

I thank you for people like you who are so humble toward mankind. Ask God for strength everyday. What you are doing will be so rewarded in heaven.

  226. Samantha February 5, 2010

Our thougths and prayers are with you all. Although the days seem long and the supplies short, remain steadfast in your faith for God will always provide. 228. BK Neel February 3, 2010

I have followed the heartbreaking news in Haiti initially because our Sunday School has a child there. She is OK, but experiencing the same daily shortages. I am praying that God will provide you with your daily needs, keep you strong physically, emotionally and spiritually and give you the certainty that your brothers and sisters in Christ love you.

  229. M Kealy February 3, 2010

    Psaume 59:16
    Et moi,
    je chanterai ta force;
Dès le matin, je célébrerai ta bonté.
Car tu es pour moi une haute retraite,
Un refuge au jour de ma détresse.

Ancient words with everlasting power to comfort and encourage…today i sing to Him of you,

What a blessing to see how many brothers and sisters in Christ are holding you all up in prayer.I continue to pray for God’s strength, wisdom, skill, peace and patience as you tirelessly communicate God’s love in so many ways to those touched by this tragedy.I am especially praying for Maquerite Jean-Louis, the young girl I sponsor, as well as her family, friends, classmates, and teachers. I am a school nurse and I have done some short term mission work in the Dominican Republic. I have a real love for your people, and I know God will bless you and bring you all through this crisis – stronger in your love for Him and each other as you weather this storm together.. God bless you all!!!

Be encouraged as you read this today…we cannot IMAGINE what HE has prepared for you, for your faithfulness in serving him, moment by moment:

    1 Corinthiens 2:9

YOUR light is shining all around the world, you bring hope to your homeland, Glory to God, and increased fervency in our prayers for you…oh that we would be as constant and faithful to pray for you as you are to do His will.

We ARE with you still, in our hearts and our minds… and He will NEVER leave you or forsake you,
Listen for His ‘still small voice’ encouraging you in the slight breeze of the evening as you rest.

Philippiens 1:3 Je rends grâces à mon Dieu de tout le souvenir que je garde de vous,

  233. Jill February 2, 2010

    praying for you all.

  234. Majrorie and Vernon Elgin February 2, 2010

To the Haiti Tested….In every test, James said, “You will not be tested beyong your ability to endure,” but with the test God will provide the grace for endurance….that you may survive it. May you have the hope that your endurance will sustain you, even as our Lord Christ was held up as he suffered on the cross. Marjorie and the Reverend Doctor Vernon Elgin.

  235. Kris Campbell February 2, 2010

Brothers and Sisters, have faith that the Lord will provide what you need and that he will give you strength to overcome. Know that we pray for you and you are not alone. We are a world away but through the love of God we stand beside you with Him. God Bless You. In Christ, Kris

  237. Tricia February 2, 2010

    Dear Haiti staff,
Our children’s ministry has sponsored a little girl in Haiti for 7 years. Well, she’s not so little anymore! For all of these years, we have taught our children to faithfully pray for Rebecca.
Her CDC is on the list of those that have been significantly affected, and our entire church is praying for her.
But more than that, we are praying for you – for each and every one of you. For you serve in spite of monumental losses of your own, and you must hear news that we dread hearing, on a scale that we cannot understand.
Please know that you are remembered, you are appreciated, and you are loved. Not only by your Father in heaven, but by his Church on earth.
Thank you for all that you do, and for who you are.

  238. Debbie Farr February 1, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

God loves you so much. You will have great rewards in Heaven for your dedication to His work – even through these horrible conditions.

Praying for the LORD to give you energy to continue in your work, and that somehow He will provide you with the resources that you need to reach people in His Name.

In the summer of 2000, my husband Ted and I brought a group of 3 youth and 3 adults to Haiti to visit our 2 sponsored children. Since we came independently we worked closely with Ephram Lindor our wonderful guide. Is all well with Ephram and family? We were also fortunate enough to get to meet Wess and his beautiful family when we were staying at the Montana hotel before our departure. My husband and I are praying for Wess, Ephram and the entire staff at Compassion. We have seen firsthand the difference they are making in the lives of the Haitian people. May God bless you all and give you strength!

  248. Paul Ulrich February 1, 2010

    Dear Brothers and Sisters,
My wife and I are praying for you! We are thankful that God has such faithful followers giving so wholly of yourselves to reach others for Christ, to help the hurting, to love the grieving.

May he comfort you, too, in all that you have undoubtedly suffered.

    In Him,

    Paul and Rachel Ulrich

  249. Vickie February 1, 2010

God Bless each of you! I pray that God gives each one of you the strength, courage and wisdom to do His work and to guide you each day. I pray He protects your minds and hearts so that you can do your work even though you are seeing and living through a devastating and horrific disaster.
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Proverbs 3:6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

  250. Lisa February 1, 2010

    Dear brother and sisters,
You are the hands and feet that hold up the needy and all we can do here is pray for you and support you financially. But it is you that are completing God’s work. There will be a glorious time in heaven for all of us to meet and be together. Until then may God be with you as our hearts and minds are.

    Your loving sister in Christ

  251. Michael Hendrickson February 1, 2010

Your faith and love encourage and challenge us all to live all for Jesus. God bless you richly and fill you with His joy.

Dear Haiti Staff: I can’t even begin to imagine what you are seeing and experiencing each day. Truly you are friends of God. 256. Jan Baumgardner January 31, 2010

My family became connected to Haiti 9 years ago when my son decided to sponsor a child through Compassion. My son was 9 years old at the time, and he gave his entire allowance for a year to sponsor his little boy. We are blessed to have continued that sponsorship, and to have visited your beautiful country.

We know that you are facing indescribable devastation now. It is our prayer that God will bring you His peace, which passes all understanding. We appreciate so much your work.

    Thank you.
    The Baumgardner Family

  257. Nathalie Stephan January 31, 2010

Thank you for your commitment to Christ and serving those who have been so impacted by the earthquake despite personal losses and impact in your own families and circumstances. Know that you have been prayed for since the beginning and will continue to be. Press on in the Name of Christ dear ones!

  258. Karli Venable January 31, 2010

Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ in Haiti… we are praying with you, standing, kneeling, weeping, grieving, and even rejoicing at stories of hope and the mercies of God shown to you and through you in such a time. I am gripped by two small words hidden in the gospel of John 11… Jesus wept. Despite His knowing the end from the beginning, despite His sovereignty as God incarnate, God in the flesh stood in the face of loss, of suffering, of death, and He did not give a long speech explaining His ways or fill the air with hollow theology… He only wept and with every tear that fell, the Theology of the Ages is revealed and His fullness rends our hearts with a God so near, so tender, and so uniquely compassionate. And so we weep and we rejoice and we love Him and stand with you and stand with so many who are standing alone. May Love Himself abound still more and more in your hearts as you love the Haitian people so fully. Praying for you daily…praying for the Haitian fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters…carrying you all in our hearts.

  259. Nancy White January 30, 2010

To the many blessed Compassion workers: May God bless you all. God promises to be with you “even until the end of time.” He is with each of you and loves you so much. He is waiting for asked prayers so He can help. So many around the world are praying for you and your families and communities. One of the children I sponsor asked if I live near you. He is praying for you. He is 7 years old from Tanzania. God bless you and your countrymen and country.
    Love in Christ, Nancy

  260. Patty Gremaux January 30, 2010

My heart cries out for all of you – for those who are suffering and for those of you who are doing all you can to serve Jesus through helping in Haiti. “Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep…” Ro. 12:15. I weep with you and someday we will all rejoice together. I pray for your protection, wisdom, and strenth. God bless you and we will not forget even when the world does forget. But most of all, God never forgets and is with all of you in Haiti.

    Patty

  261. Gwen Ingram January 30, 2010

You are on my heart and in my prayers. I worked for Compassion in Haiti 1979-1983. I pray God will give you strength and wisdom as you serve Haiti’s children in this crisis, and comfort in your own grief.

  263. Krista Roodzant January 30, 2010

As I wrestle with how to bring the magnitude of this catastrophe down to elementary sized understanding to teach Sunday School tomorrow, I am so overwhelmed by the goodness of God to provide you as His hands and feet to love and serve the broken! Thank you for being available to be used by Him. May we all continue to storm heaven’s gates with prayers for your sustenance.

  264. Pat Marsheck January 30, 2010

    I have been sponsoring Richarlin
for 8 years in Haiti. I pray daily for you.

“Though the fig tree should not blossom, and there be no fruit on the vines, though the yield of the olive should fail, and the fields produce no food, though the flock should be cut off from the fold, and there be no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength…” Habakkuk 3:17-19

  265. Sarah Spencer January 30, 2010

First, thank you for doing what so many of us can’t. Thank you for staying when so many would have left. Thank you for finding the strength when so many would have given up. Having a sponsored child in Haiti I am deeply grateful for all that you are doing in his country. May God overwhelm you with love and strength and the ability to get up each day. Please know that many people here are praying for you and if we could we would take our strength and give it to you. You have not been forgotten. I send my love and prayers and hope to you all. When you don’t think you can walk another step just say “Help, Father” and He will be there. He will carry you and hold you and remind you that all of heaven looks down to encourage you on.

May God hold and keep you close and breathe strength into you for the tasks ahead. May He reward greatly your faithfulness in reaching out to others in the midst of your own pain. May you know Him as never before and truly experience His presence, mercy, comfort, love and hope.

    Hugs and prayers,

There are no words that I can say to make your situation better, but I can give you words of hope and encouragement and pray for you that God will give you rest from your sorrow. Isaiah 57:18~19(KJV) “I have seen his ways, and will heal him; I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.” Thank you all for proving that the body of Christ ia yet alive and working. I love you all and I will definately continue to bring you to Christ Jesus in my prayers. God bless you abundantly. With love in Jesus’ mighty name, Minnie A. Gatlin.

  268. Melissa Bauldry January 30, 2010

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every member of the Compassion staff in Haiti for your selfless love and devotion to the children and their families who you so faithfully serve. Such devotion in light of your own personal suffering is an amazing act of love and courage that will be a shining example to the rest of us of what true selflessness looks like. I am so humbled to know of you, and I am honored to be at least a small part, as a sponsor, of the same organization that you represent – Compassion. My admiration and love for you all as brothers and sisters in Christ grows daily. I am praying for your health and safety as you do your wonderful work. I ask our Heavenly Father to protect you all and give you strength. May God grant you His peace and send comfort to you each on the wings of His Spirit. Give them deep rest in their sleep, secure in the knowledge that You, O God, desire more for us all than we can ever think or pray for. Strengthen their deep faith, courage and resiliance. Thank you, God, for their witness and testimony of You to the many nations. Heal wounds which are inward and out. In Your mercy, O God, stablish Your leaders for this country and for ours. Thank you for the Gift of Jesus Christ. It is in His Name that I pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, I pray that you will bless and strengthen these people who give of themselves to others, in spite of their own losses. Please lift their hearts and fill them with thy love and hope for the future. Help the light of Christ that is within all of us to show through, brighter and more beautiful than before this tragedy, that more souls will be brought to thee. Let this be an opportunity to bring Jesus Christ to those who haven’t had the chance to know Him, that they may be comforted in knowing that those who died are now with thee. Lord, I love thee, and I pray these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I thank God for your faithfulness in continuing to serve in Haiti in spite of your own sufferings and losses. Please know that you are an inspiration to me to reach out to others in need where I am. May your work in Haiti bring the people to God and inspire others to His kingdom work. Our church children’s group sponsors a child from Haiti, and they are very much touched by his situation and by your service to his people. I believe God will use this tragedy to inspire them to His work as well. In this you are touching so many, both within and outside Haiti, by your commitment to God’s work. Bonjour mes cheres freres 🙂
Last Sunday morning I heard this Psalm being read on the radio…and it resonated in my heart how it applied to you at this time. I pray it comforts your soul as you continue your loving work in His name,

    Psaume 145
1Louange.

    18L’Éternel est près de tous ceux qui l’invoquent, De tous ceux qui l’invoquent avec sincérité;

    Dear staff,
Thank you all so much for your service to the Lord in Haiti. Praise god! I pray for you and your families, for the sponsored children, for the many grieving in Haiti and for those injured and suffering. May God continue to shine His light in your lives and lift you up in your pain. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
    He is good.

  313. Sarah January 29, 2010

    Dear Compassion Haiti staff,
The amazing faith of the Haitian people has been shining through despite everything. It is truly an inspiration to the rest of us – thank you, Haiti! I believe that in the coming months and years, a newer and brighter Haiti will emerge – filled with even more examples of your enduring faith and love of God.
Please rejoice in the small blessings that you receive each day and in the small accomplishments. I can tell you the value of this from personal experience. Several years ago, we had a major house fire and were forced to live elsewhere for 6 months while the house was being rebuilt. While the gravity of this situation was nothing in comparison to what you all are experiencing, I did learn the importance of rejoicing in small accomplishments. Sometimes it was too difficult or too overwhelming to look at everything that needed to be done, and I learned to set small (and realistic) goals that would fill me with the joy of accomplishment. Together the small things will add up to something big. This is my prayer for you.

  314. Karan January 29, 2010

Délivre-moi
incline vers moi ton oreille! Viens vite! Viens me délivrer!
Amen!

Do not grow weary in doing good,God Almighty, the Creator of the Universe has chosen you to reap an eternal harvest at this time…and it will be everlasting!
People are still praying, people are still remembering you all in the late hours of the night, the early hours of the morning, the hot hours under the sun as you toil for Him.
    Blessings on you!

For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.” – Matt 25

I am confident that the work being done with Giddings at Center 773 and the many other children at many other centers reflects the good work personified by the life of Jesus.

My wishes are for the personal well being of Compassion staff and for the children and family that you are serving with the help of our dollars.

    Sincerely,
    Bruce

Even though we can’t be there to help in the physical realm we are lifting you to the Lord and asking that He gives you the grace you need for each day, hour and moment. I pray that you will continually remember to allow the Lord to share this heavy yoke with you and seek Him for strength.

The exciting news is that our God is bigger than this disaster and His glory will shine through it all!!!

  352. Jan Fincher January 22, 2010

    Dear Precious Brothers and Sisters,
My husband and I have prayed many times this last year for the people of Haiti. We’ve talked about how life is so difficult there, about the plight of the restaviks, and we’ve thanked God for each of you who are there being the hands and feet of Christ, meeting the physical needs while pointing them to the Living Bread that will satisfy their hunger for eternity. Thank you for the work that you did representing Christ before the earthquake and thank you for your faithfulness to continue that work, no matter how heartbreaking, now. May the peace of God guard and strengthen your hearts in all that you encounter. Know that you were born for this work, at this specific time and that you have all that you need to complete it. Those whose earthly lives are finished are precious to God and they stand in that great crowd of witnesses encouraging you on. We may never meet here, but we’ll have much to talk about when we, ourselves, join them. Much love to you all,
    Glenn and Jan Fincher
    Decatur, Alabama, USA

  353. Jennifer January 22, 2010

May God comfort and protect all of you and give you strength to face the days ahead. The Lord be with you.

  355. Mick January 22, 2010

  357. Mais-oui Kealy January 22, 2010

    Guilbaud!

What a blessing you are to your team as the shepherd of such a flock of ‘soldiers of the faith’ and ‘warriors for the Lord’.
It is ‘for such a time as this’ that God has equipped you to be the Country Director. Even at a young age He prepared you for this moment…when you and your brother were away at school and you were caring for the daily needs of meals and laundry and study…as a mere child yourself…the Lord was training you for this very moment.

No “5 year plan” could prepare anyone for such an event, yet the testimony of the teamwork, the care you all have for your partners and children and each other, the appreciation you have for those who send you supplies…all these things bring Glory to God’s name…we, the watching world, cannot help but say: Look HOW they love one another!

Guilbaud, you are a hero I just listened to the ‘conference call update’ and Edouard described how you rescued your sister and her children…I think of the verse:
Psalm 91:14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

Guilbaud, please know–without a doubt, and express to your family and your team, that
    we LOVE you,
    we are WITH you,
We are approaching the very throne of the King of Kings to remind Him of His faithful servants, these dear Children of the King, and we thank Him for his gracious promise:
    * to supply ALL your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus,
    * to give you strength to do ALL things
    * to give you wisdom, liberally and without reproach
**to HOLD YOU BY YOUR RIGHT HAND (Psalm 139:10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me).

You are on our hearts and minds at all times, we are praying without ceasing…all around the world, from the east of Canada to the heart of Argentina,we are interceding for you all… and we are PROUD of you…

  358. Rebecca Hanak January 22, 2010

Thank you for all that you are doing to help the people of Haiti. I am so sorry for your losses. Even in the midst of your own personal losses you are still serving God. He is a mighty God and I know that He loves each one of you. He sees your sacrifices and the struggles that you are facing. He will persevere and He will reign over all. God I ask that you fill these workers with your strength and healing and that they would feel your presence in all situations. Keep them safe and help them to be a light to those who have lost so much. Lord shine your light and love on all of Haiti. May the country of Haiti come out of this tragedy stronger than ever before. May all the glory be to you God. Bless these workers. Amen.

  359. Kaye January 22, 2010

You are being held in prayers my dear brothers and sisters. You are a light in the darkness around you! You are the hope in the hopelessness that surrounds you. You carry inside of you the answer to every questions. You have Jesus….”Arise and shine for your light has come!!” Blessings to you in great measure….as individuals as a Compassion ministry!!

  360. Amy January 22, 2010

Thank you so much for what you’re doing to bless others! I pray that you would feel God’s comfort and peace in the midst of your own pain…

    – That when your hearts are overwhelmed, He will lead you to the rock that is higher than us (Psalm 61:2)

It’s hard to believe that happened. But everything is in God’s time and we are all in His plan. He knows how you feel and knows that you can go through this situation by His strength and His power.
    You are in my prayer.

  367. Joanne Marino January 22, 2010

Our hearts have been with you since we visited Haiti in 1998 with Grace Community Church from Greensboro, NC. Ephriam, we are praying for your health and that of your precious family. We have two sponsored boys and thank you SO MUCH for letting God’s beautiful Spirit work through your pain. He will sustain you. He holds you tenderly close to his heart. You are his glorious creation. We walk beside you and pray daily. Our deep love to each of you, beautiful Haitian family.

  373. Amanda January 21, 2010

    You all are in our constant thoughts and prayers. My hope is that through this tragedy, good will come to all the people of Haiti as the world reaches out to help the least of these. As the song “The Prayer” goes;
We pray You’ll be our eyes,
and watch us where we go,
and teach us to be wise
in times when we don’t know. Let this be our prayer
    when we lose our way.
    Lead us to a place,
guide us with Your grace, to a place where we’ll be safe.
We pray we’ll find Your light
and hold it in our hearts
    when darkness fall each night
    remind us where You are.
    Let this be our prayer
    when shadows fill our day.
    Lead us to a place,
    guide us with your grace,
give us faith so we’ll be safe.
May God provide for all your needs!

  374. Suzanne MacConnell January 21, 2010

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ ~ You are heroes! You are being lifted up to the throne of God as I write this. I am still awaiting news of my little Beltschtsar at HA-254. Daily I pray for his safety and for your hearts and spirits. You are the body of Christ to your people. May your feet move swiftly; Your hands gently; and may your grieving spirits be soothed and nourished as you minister in the name of our Lord Jesus. And may you, yourselves, find rest and comfort amidst chaos. ~ mary

  378. pendy January 21, 2010

Praying for you and all of the people of Haiti. The work you are doing is so important and having to do it in the face of devastation and sorrow, well, only through God is this possible.

  379. Molly Piper January 21, 2010

Seeing your staff picture brings tears to my eyes. “Just look at all these strong men and women of God!”

    2 Corinthians 4: 16-18
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

I know this affliction does not feel light or momentary. My heart aches with you as we bear these afflictions unto eternity, where we will surely meet our precious Lord & Savior, and be greeted by the saints who have gone before. Press on, dear brothers and sisters. Press on.

  380. Jim Porett January 21, 2010

Haiti Brothers and Sisters in Christ – You are in my prayers. May the Lord comfort you as you grieve, give you strength for the work He has called you to and provide all that you need. May His peace that passes all understanding wash over you during this time. Know that many people, all over the world cry out to God in prayer for you daily. I pray each of you have a renewed, deeper sense of hope that we have in Jesus than ever before.

  381. Catherine Tucek January 21, 2010

Never forget that God is not unaware of you – you personally, your sorrow, your tragedy.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

    That is about you.

  382. Melissa Benson January 21, 2010

  383. Kaitlyn January 21, 2010

    Father,
I truly cannot fathom the greatness of this disaster. IT is hard at times to keep faith and remember Romans 8:28 “All things work together for those who love Him”, but my prayer is simply that YOU will be glorified endlessly. I do pray specifically for the Compassion workers as well as their families and friends. May they be blessed by their love and selflessness. Thank you Lord for being our Foundation and Rock. Until the Whole World Hears…

  384. Callie Priest January 21, 2010

May He who gives all strength and power be faithful to provide you with what you need to carry on. Thank you for your commitment to the Gospel and to the many lives you are serving.

  385. Jessica January 21, 2010

You have been heavy on my heart this past week or so. I want you to know that since I cannot be there to get my hands dirty helping out, that I have been praying dilligently. I pray that you will be able to find peace in this suffering from our God who is so much bigger than anything we can imagine. I pray for healing. I pray for boldness. But most importantly I pray that the people of Haiti, will come to know our God who can give them true joy in the midst of sorrow.

  386. H Servante January 21, 2010

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

  387. Linda Steward January 21, 2010

    Dear Brothers and Sisters:
May God’s grace be sufficient for all that you need during this time of crisis. I pray that God will uphold your every effort with his strong right hand and bless the sacrifice you make on behalf of the children and all of us who have not the opportunity, the inclination or time to join you in your work. I know that God is with you. May you look at every rescue as a miracle sent directly from His hand to encourage you and show you that He is with you and that your are operating in His will and purpose right now. May you be filled with his peace everyday. It is my prayer that as you comfort others, you will also be comforted.

  388. Gail January 21, 2010

This situation, while very sad, is one where I keep having to thank God.

Thank God for every miracle survivor. Thank God that the Compassion building is still standing. Thank God for the decades of hard work you have all put into building connections, ministering to families, seeing kids and families saved for eternity, developing an infrastructure that is invaluable at a time like this. Your labours are bearing fruit right now like never before. Praise the Lord!

I also thank God for the hope that this crisis gives Haiti. Hope that He will make it replace that which was lost with so much better than there was before. May the world not forget Haiti until the nation is totally rebuilt. Hope that this will turn many Haitian hearts to Christ.

Thanks for the awesome testimonies of Haitians singing God’s praises in the middle of this devistation being proclaimed in news around the world.

So while my heart is heavy as I share your sorrow I can also see God’s hand moving mightily through you all and that causes me to thank Him and you.

    Thank you!

  389. Jennie, UK January 21, 2010

    Dear brothers and sisters

Isaiah 58:12 Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will become known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.

Matthew 16:18 Now I say to you that you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

We pray that God will enable you His church to rebuild not only it’s physical walls but also the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, His people by bringing hope in the face of such tragedy.

  390. J Dean January 21, 2010

Praying the Lord’s mighty and healing presence with each of you and all throughout your city, praying His protection and provision and comfort, standing with you in faith and believing His promises for His children…He will never leave you or forsake you, you are His beloved, chosen people, you are not alone. Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”

  391. Cam January 21, 2010

I am so thankful for each and everyone of you for all you do. My husband and I had the privilege of meeting Thimothee from PAP, Israel, Israel’s mom, and a precious lady from Chantal in 2008 during our individual visit with our boy in Haiti. It was such a blessing and we got some amazing photos of that time together. I always introduce them as my extended family.
Psalm 147:3 He heals the broken hearted, binding up their wounds. Sòm 147:3 (Haitian Creole Version)
3L’ap bay moun ki nan gwo lapenn yo kouraj. L’ap geri moun ki blese yo.
I am praying the Lord heals your hearts!

Another favorite verse when I am struggling is Romans 5…
    Ròm 5
1¶ Koulye a, paske nou gen konfyans nan Bondye, Bondye fè nou gras, n’ap viv san kè sote ak Bondye, gremesi Jezikri, Seyè nou an.

2Paske nou gen konfyans nan li, Jezi fè nou antre nan favè Bondye. Epi n’ap kenbe fèm kote nou kanpe a. Nou pa manke kontan paske nou gen espwa resevwa pa nou nan pouvwa Bondye a ansanm avèk li.

3Nou pa manke kontan menm lè n’ap soufri.

4Poukisa?

8Sou pwen sa a, Bondye moutre nou jan li renmen nou anpil; paske nou t’ap fè peche toujou lè Kris la mouri pou nou.

9Se paske li bay san li pou nou kifè koulye a Bondye fè nou gras. Nou pa bezwen mande si Kris la p’ap delivre nou tou anba kòlè Bondye.

10Nou te lènmi ak Bondye lè Pitit Bondye a mouri pou l’ te fè nou byen ak Bondye ankò. Koulye a nou se zanmi Bondye, nou pa bezwen mande si lavi Pitit Bondye a p’ap delivre nou.

11Epi se pa sa sèlman. Nou jwenn tout plezi nou nan Bondye, gremesi Jezikri, Seyè nou an, ki fè nou byen ak Bondye ankò depi koulye a.

The Lord is glorified if you do all you can do as unto Him, and by doing it you are keeping your own souls alive and burning for Him. Please do not give up!

  435. Lindy January 21, 2010

With all my heart, I wish I could be there to help iwith meeting the needs of the dear, hurting people, and especially the children in your country! You are doing what so many of us cannot do right now. Please know that we are constantly praying for you and that you are constantly on our hearts. We are praying that you will experience God’s goodness and mercy, that He will provide for you in amazing ways, and that He will refresh you when you are weary. We love you, and more importantly, God loves you! Psalm 36:5-9

  436. Milena January 21, 2010

Terrible things are going on there, I know. Now truly you have to hold on to the Word of God, because it’s really everything that can give you comfort. Our words might cheer you up a little, but only the God who created you knows how to talk to you in the proper way… I ask you to please remember Job, how much he suffered, lost everything, just like the people there, but didn’t renounce, he knew the God in who he trusted, which is the God who has the whole universe in His hands, and NOTHING happens without His consense.
Think about Paul, he suffered persecution, prision, but God rescued him from all his sorrows. So many others in the Word…
Be sure: He is watching out for you, He knows exactly what each of you is thinking, and if You don’t renounce, He will be with you every single day, as it has been so far. Your work there is not done, and now is the time to show more and more LOVE.
May God bless you and do wonders through your work…

LOVE. From people in Brazil. Milena

My heart continues to break for Haiti, every day. The devastation brings me to tears, and I want so badly to be there, to help, to hold the children in pain, and scared, and maybe newly orphaned. I am so thankful that you are all there, working in the love of the Lord. My prayer is for each of you, and every child, and their families. I know that God always works things for the good of those who love Him. I am confident that in the midst of this tragedy, God is at work. I kneel before the Father from whom his whole family in heaven and on Earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen YOU with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that u being rooted and established in love, may have power together with all saints to grasp wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge that U may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within YOU

To him be the Glory as he uses U to be his hands, his feet, his voice, and to share his LOVE

    Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You that You are in complete control and are not surprised by anything that faces Your people. I pray that you would strengthen Your people in Haiti, specifically the faithful Compassion workers who are laboring for You, serving others. I pray for physical rest, spiritual encouragement, time for fellowship and refreshment even if for only a few minutes at a time. I pray for healing for physical wounds and comfort for hurting hearts. I pray for Your gospel to be spread by their testimony in word and deed. I pray that their lives would shine forth your love and that the people of Haiti would come to You in droves!
Father, I cannot go to Haiti, but I pray that You would keep me faithful to pray for those who are there working day by day. Please keep them encouraged. Please give them other people to talk to about what they are experiencing so that they do not become overwhelmed. Please help them to feel Your love and presence that You promise to Your children.
Thank You, Father, for what you will do and how You will bless those doing Your work.
    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen.

    Dear brothers & sisters,
People throughout the world are devastated by your suffering- we really do care. Each time I think of your situation I cry. We do not know why God has allowed this, but we do know that He is good, and we are promised ‘that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.'(Rom8.28) I know it must be difficult to see any good right now amidst your sadness and grief, but we know that God’s Word does not lie- so good will come. And we will certainly be rejoicing with you to hear of it.
Stay strong in Jesus. Remember Job 1.21-22.
We love you very much, and are so proud to be your brothers and sisters. We are sure you are representing Christ well.
    Keep going.

    My friends:

I cannot imagine what you have seen, felt, imagined or lived through the last few days. I’m thankful there is a God who says “Do not fear” and “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

I pray continually for his strength, his comfort, his encouragement to satisfy the wounds of your hearts.

    You are not alone.

  461. Chris Pedersen January 20, 2010

The eyes and hearts of the world are on Haiti. I pray that your sorrows are soothed and your strength is renewed as you continue to fight for the children of Haiti. The devastation is horrendous, but God will use this for good. We pray for God to be glorified as you witness the countless miracles He has in store.

  464. Stephanie Smith January 20, 2010

“The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble”-Nahum 1:7 Beloved: we are wrenched by your suffering and are scrambling to meet your needs. You are not alone, but are continually lifted before our strong and loving God by your international Compassion family. We love you every minute; we weep with you today, and we will be there to rebuild with you tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that, and the day after that.

  465. Kiki Cherry January 20, 2010

At noon today on our campus we had a special prayer meeting for you. One young man wept as he lifted you up to the Lord.

Our hearts are breaking for and with you, especially at the loss of your dear sister in Christ.

My prayer for you today is that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13)

In the midst of the sadness, I am also praising God for the testimony that YOU—the church in Haiti—is having globally. As relief workers come from around the world, they are hearing the name of Jesus proclaimed in your lives. You are impacting the nations….and who knows how many countless people will come to know Christ because they have seen Him reflected in you.

Thank you for your courage…your hope….your deep love for one another….your unity….and your faith in the midst of the storm. We are standing with you and asking God to give you a peace that passes all understanding.

  466. N.A. Winter January 20, 2010

Words can not express the gratitude and appreciation for the work that you are doing. I can not imagine the sacrifices that you are making in order to be Christ to those in need. We know that your lives will be changed forever as a result of what you’ve experienced and it is our prayer that through this, God will draw you increasingly closer to Him.

My students and I regularly pray for you. Today we prayed that you would “run and not grow weary, walk and not faint.” May you truly soar on eagles’ wings and be filled beyond your capacity to continue in this work that God has called you to. May the love, care and concern that you pour out be returned to you many times over. May you be strengthen and encouraged and may the peace that surpasses understanding guide you every step of the way.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

  467. Bobby Sparks January 20, 2010

I know that you have suffered so much and I am so proud to call you my Compassion family, and my brothers and sisters in Christ as you are heroes and have carried on in spite of your pain in order to show God’s love to these children and the community. I have prayed for you with such urgency and desperation and I will continue to do so as you take on these battles with the armor of God. You bless my heart and know that you are a blessing to our Lord as well and you make Him smile 🙂

  471. Ted Griffin Jr January 20, 2010

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Haiti-
Be encouraged and be of good cheer. The Lord is with you and we are praying for HIS compassion to overwhelm you and give you strength. He delights when we pray and is given opportunity to show himself as our Heavenly Father and Benevolent One… we are praying for more miracles to take place in the ruins caused by this devastating earthquake bacause HE IS a God of the miraculous. Finally, we are praying for supplies to get where they need to the most so peace can be maintained. Be strong in the Lord for you are there as His ambassadors… He sent you because He knew YOU were perfect for the calling which He gave you. And so I pray for all these things in HIS matchless name… amen.

We are heartbroken over your losses and our losses in Haiti. We can’t imagine the desperate scenes in front of you. Know that we are SO grateful for you. Everything is so hard, I’m sure you feel like you don’t have it in you at times to see anymore hardship, do anymore work, feel anymore pain.

But take heart, brothers and sisters, because in Christ we are more than conquerors. He will provide for you emotionally and physically. Keep praying to Him in the moment by moment difficulties.

We love you. Again, let me say, we are grateful…there aren’t words to express how thankful we are for you. God bless you. God bless you. God bless you!
    With love and prayers-

I had the blessed opportunity to visit Haiti and some of the Compassion staff with a group named Student Life last fall. Please know that all of our prayers are with you. We cannot begin to imagine the tragedy that you are all facing, but we pray that our great God will give you peace and strength in the midst of your suffering. If anyone who reads this happens to know Timothy who would have led our group that week, please give him a huge hug and let him know our prayers are with him.

  478. Lisa McIntosh January 20, 2010

Lifting you up to the God of the Universe who is with you every step of the way. May you be strengthened as you allow Christ to use you. I am praying for strength for the task at hand.

  479. Erin K. January 20, 2010

    My prayer for you:

    Psalm 20

1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. “Selah” 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. 9 O Lord, save the king! Answer us when we call!

  480. Alistair January 20, 2010

To see the pictures of you all working in the carpark on behalf of the children despite your own deep personal losses was truly inspiring. Words cannot convey how much you are in our thoughts and prayers. It’s Ok to wonder where God is in all of this, but of course you know He is right there with you.

  481. Brooke January 20, 2010

Praying for God’s strength for you as you continue your ministry even in the face of personal tragedy. I can only imagine what you are facing and the tasks before, but all things are possible with our God whose heart I know is broken by the suffering. Even so, He is able to use all things to and for His glory. Thank you for your love of these churches and projects, but most importantly the children. They might, otherwise, be forgotten as they cannot speak for themselves.

God is going to work miraculous things through each of you just as He already has. Thank you again for your willingness to be God’s servant.

You are very much in our prayers and on our hearts. God knows what you are going through but he is also giving you his strength to go through it. Lean on him with all your heart. He will not fail you. He loves you. When you cry he cries with you but don’t forget he is strong. Yield to him and he will carry you. As for us, we will hold you up in prayer, stand on the promises for you and believe that in his strength you can do what needs to be done. God bless you all as you are his hands and feet.

  494. Jennifer January 20, 2010

From all of us who sponsor children in Haiti, Thank you! The sacrifice you make for these children do not go unnoticed. We are praying for you and ask God to bring peace and joy during this season. WE are trusting that God keeps his promises: All things work together for our Good! For those who love God and are called according to HIS purpose. Rom 8:28. Please feel our prayers and know that we are praying! Thanks again for all you do

  497. Terry Bobbitt January 20, 2010

My family and I have been praying for you daily as you do the work that God has led you to do to help the Haitian people. May God continue to give you the strength you need, the courage to be who you can be for Him and the wisdom to know all that He is asking you to do, even when things seem too overwhelming for you to bear. I pray that you will encourage one another and witness the miracle saving Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, as He places ‘faith stones’ on your path to get you through the toughest assignments. You are a testimony to the pressures one faces, yet chooses to perservers in the name of Jesus. You are Jesus with skin on for so many, and may they recognize from Whom this great love and service comes from. God Bless You all and thank you for a wonderful job you are doing. There are so many grateful hearts who are praying for you!

  498. Carolyn Fodel January 20, 2010

God bless you all. I am praying for you and your families, for you are the instrument that God is using to help these children.

  499. Jesse January 20, 2010

I lift up everyone and will continue to pray, pray, and pray without ceasing “…God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So my friend says with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.'” Hebrews 13:5-6

  500. Lauren January 20, 2010

With each new day, hour, moment, may God fill you up afresh. With His love, with His compassion, with His goodness… that as you pour out your life to serve others, God will fill up your own heart and life to overflowing.

You are in our prayers day and night.

  501. Kathy January 20, 2010

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We have rejoiced with you with each victory and have cried with you at each loss. We love you and would encourage you in the Lord. Greater is He that is within you than he that is within the world. With His strength you will get through this, and He will be glorified. May He bless your efforts. We love you!

  502. Carrie January 20, 2010

Our hearts ache with yours as we wait for news. We lift you up in prayer daily, hourly, moment by moment trying to wrap our mind around what you are seeing and dealing with. You are remembered and cherished by us and by the Lord. Stand firm, be encouraged, for the Lord is with you.

  503. Carrie Bond January 20, 2010

God calls those He loves and equips those he calls. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus to those we cannot reach. You are storing up treasure in heaven. May our Heavenly Father strengthen you and protect you during these difficult days.

  504. Amy Smelley January 20, 2010

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus. I am praying for God to give you the peace that passes all understanding during this. Praying for God to give you stength and encouragement. I love you all and I am so thankful for your ministry. Your rewards are in heaven.

  505. Gillian January 20, 2010

Our family is praying for you all and for our sponsored child. Joshua 1:9 ~ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

You all are doing valuable work and the Lord is with you!! God bless!

  506. Juli Jarvis January 20, 2010

You have been an inspiration to me. I remember well my visit there in 2002. I have wanted to return ever since. I have two children there that I have sponsored; one is 29 and may have been in Port-au-Prince. The other is his younger brother that I still sponsor (on La Gonave).

We have not ceased praying for you and will continue to stand beside you. God will be sufficient for all your needs, and He will not let us forget to pray.

I would encourage you to consider scriptures that speak of “The Living God,” such as Jeremiah 10:10 — “But the LORD is the true God; He is the Living God, the eternal King.” And these words from King Darius in Daniel 6:26-27 — “For He is The Living God and He endures forever; His Kingdom will not be destroyed; His dominion will never end.” Here is one from Simon Peter in Matthew 16:16-17 — “‘You are the Christ, the Son of The Living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in Heaven.'”

Finally, a scripture that reminds me of YOU: “You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of The Living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.” This is our ministry and God’s glory. It is the Spirit that gives you strength, courage and fruitfulness. He will be enough for you in the days ahead.

  507. Nicole @ Here’s The Diehl January 20, 2010

Praying for you, the families you work with, and all of those so profoundly affected by the earthquake. Thank you for continuing to be a blessing to the people of Haiti even as you grieve and recover yourselves.

  508. Sheryl Paris January 20, 2010

My heart breaks with yours for all your suffering. Jesus’ heart also breaks with yours. He was a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. May He continually carry your sorrows and bring you peace. You are not forgotten!

  509. Will January 20, 2010

May God be with you. Many of us have no idea what it’s truly like there, what you are going through. But God does, and He holds you in the palm of His mighty hand. Footprints – “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you “.

  510. Melissa Carlson January 20, 2010

    Dear Lord,
Give your servants an inexplicable ability to keep pushing through! God, they need your eyes, your strength, your mercy and power! God, have mercy on them, please! May they be encouraged and strengthened with every stitched up wound, every relived pain, every smile. Help them hold on to those moments of hope when all around them appears to be falling apart. Lord, you are the great Physician. Please heal your children in body and in spirit. They need you like never before. Be their savior once again!
In Jesus’ precious name I ask this, Amen.

  511. Robin January 20, 2010

Just like the man born blind that Jesus healed, this too will be used for God to receive His due glory. Thank you for your willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus, despite the tragedies you are personally going through. May He bless you with an extra amount of peace, grace and comfort as you minister to others.

  512. Michelle January 20, 2010

Sending prayers your way- know that people are walking with you in spirit, your work is important and God will provide.

Much peace and love, the McNally family

  513. Bobbie January 20, 2010

Lifting up you and your families in prayer during this time of great need is a privilege for our family. Your dedication and service to Christ serves as a reminder to us to “love our neighbor as ourselves.” Through this great tragedy comes an awareness of Haiti and all the many faces of Haiti. My children and I have talked about how before the earthquake, Haiti was just another country in our minds, now to us it is a very real place with very real people who have very real needs and it is now greatly on our hearts. Words cannot express how deeply you are loved and we thank you for the hard work you do, and also for your generous love for others.

  514. Stephanie S. January 20, 2010

There is little I can say that can comfort your grieving hearts, however, I pray and believe that our Heavenly Father can sustain you and comfort your heart as no other can. Thank you for all you are doing for the precious people of Haiti.

  515. Laura January 20, 2010

    Dear Compassion Staff,
Please know that our hearts and prayers are with. We are truly thankful for the work that you are doing in Haiti in the name of Jesus. We cry for you and the suffering you are enduring, but know that my family and I continue praying for you. We pray that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Pil 4:7)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. (2 Cor. 1:3-5)

    Yours in Christ,
    The Miller Family

  516. Jill Foley January 20, 2010

    To the staff in Haiti…

My family is praying for you. We are praying that God will guide you through this chaos and time of loss. We know you are grieving and hurting is so many ways, and because we are all part of the same body of Christ and the same family of Compassion – we are hurting and grieving right along with you.

Thank you for being there in the trenches and taking care of the children and their families. May God be your strength.

  517. Amy K. January 20, 2010

    Compassion Staff,

I am praying for all of you. Be strong through all this. I pray for all the hurts that each of you have encountered, and have asked God to give you an overwhelming peace in the midst of the chaos. I know you are very strong and determined and have great compassion for your people. Continue to find your strength in the LORD. I pray that God will keep you encouraged as you do His work.
Many depend on you, and what you are doing is so very important to the children you serve. You are so very important to God. He has saved you from this for a reason. Put all your hope for the future in Him. Look to Him to be your fortress and your rock. Run to Him to shelter you and to guide you.

“For you are my rock and my fortress; therefore for your name’s sake lead me, and guide me” – Psalm 31:3

I pray for all of you, and your families as you cope with life in a changed country.

    With God’s Love,
    Amy

P.S. Valine, I praise God that you are alive. I am so sorry. I never want to lose you. You are so important to me. I pray for you many times everyday. Love you.

  524. Vicki Small January 20, 2010

Father in heaven, our hearts have been broken by the devastation in Haiti and the suffering of your people, there. Most of us cannot begin to grasp what they are experiencing, now, but our hearts go out to them.

We know that You were not surprised, when the earthquake struck. We know You were there, in every building, on every street, in every home, and we know that You grieve with everyone who is grieving. We know You were with each one who was killed in the earthquake, or who died while buried under the rubble or lying on the streets, as they waited for help to come.

Thank you for placing your people where they can be salt and light amid the devastation, and bless those who continue to serve, even in their own bereavement.

Father, You gave us arms to reach out to people in comfort, but our arms are not long enough to reach across miles and oceans. But we know that You have a way of wrapping Your arms around each person who has a deep ache, around each survivor who has lost precious loved ones. We ask you to do that for us.

We ask you also to comfort the pastors and church leaders. Let them feel your Presence so strongly that they will know absolutely that you have not abandoned them. Let them know that many tears are shed for them by people they have met, and by many that they have never met, and that we pray for them.

We pray for the children. Oh, God, how we ache for the children! Will you reunite children with their parents; will you lead rescuers to each child who is still buried under rubble or unaccounted for; will you provide homes for orphans and children for bereaved parents.

O Lord, we long for the day when we will all be with you, forever.
Until then, keep us moving forward, keep us mobilized to minister to the lost and the suffering. Make us wise in our efforts to help, and multiply what is given many-fold, just as you did with the loaves and fishes.

Thank you for bidding us to come to you, for inviting us to pour out our hearts to you, and for promising never to leave us or forsake us. We love you so much, even when we love you imperfectly, and we leave all of these requests at your feet, in the name of Jesus. Amen

  525. Lisa Vercauteren January 20, 2010

Thank you for all you are doing in Haiti. We are praying for you. Praying that God will give you the strength to continue His good work. You are right where He wants you to be!

I won’t even pretend to know what it’s like right now, but my older brother, David, is helping in PAP right now, so I can honestly say my heart & prayers are in Haiti right now. Be encouraged, because your brothers & sisters from all over the world are praying desperately for God to be with & deliver you all. My prayers are with you all, but even better, HE is with you all. We’re praying for your healing, because we know in addition to the physical losses, at times the emotional toll must be nearly unbearable. Thank God we know He cares more than we can imagine. We pray you feel His love and peace, as well as our support for your efforts. Love to you from the Kaspar family.

We all want to make a difference with our lives. You had that opportunity and chose to take it. And you are making a Kingdom difference–thank you for doing what so many of us can’t–or won’t. Thank you for taking the opportunities. Thank you for making a difference.

  550. Ashley McGee January 20, 2010

Father, I thank you for my sweet brothers and sisters serving in Haiti. God I can’t even begin to imagine what they are facing every second of the day. I know they are serving others in their own time of distress and need. Father, I pray that you wrap them up so tight in your love and peace. Help them to know every second of everyday that you are near. Give them strength, clear thoughts, and health. Thank you for their sacrifice, and thank you for the ULTIMATE sacrifice. May this tragedy bring a world of suffering people to your Kingdom. Thank you for being You, all the time. I love you Father. I pray these things in your Holy name. Amen.

  551. Karen January 20, 2010

Words are not sufficient… but God knows your hearts, he knows your pain, He knows your sacrifice…

When our strength is gone HE is our strength. When our hope is dim, HE is our hope. HE is our provider, our counselor, our comforter, our peace, our friend.

Know that God is with you.
Praying he will be all you need, and more in this most difficult time.

    Your sister in Christ.

  554. Joy Hardee January 20, 2010

    Dear Haiti staff,
Our hearts are broken and heavy with you. We can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through but we are praying constantly for you throughout the day. I have updates from compassion posted on my FB status and many are praying for you. I’ve been reading in I Peter and have been amazed at how much “suffering” and “glory” go together. You may not be able to see at this moment how God can be glorified in this, but just yesterday, 2 of my family members sponsored children through Compassion b/c of my FB status updates. Also, our little Peterson is in PAP – HA 763. He stays on my mind constantly. I was feeling a bit sad the other night and reading some of his letters. He had mentioned Isaiah 41:10. It says “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, and I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
I know the pain and sorrow you are feeling is greater than anything I have experienced, but I have been praying this verse for Peterson and now for all of you. Please know you are loved, cared about and prayed for. We love you. You are constantly on our minds, hearts and in our prayers.

  555. Debbie January 20, 2010

Words somehow can not express the deep sorrow I feel for the country of Haiti. I have felt such a connection there over the last 7 years of supporting our CI child. I was scheduled to come visit you all in March and my heart aches that you are hurting now. Your courage and faith are truly inspiring and my prayers and heart are with you daily. Keep shining the light of Jesus in your dark and weary country!

  556. Lianne January 20, 2010

It’s amazing how you are able to work under these devastating circumstances. May God bless you abundantly and take care of you in your work and your personal life.
    Thank you just isn’t enough…

  557. Patty January 20, 2010

We pray a prayer of thanks for this wonderful team in Haiti. We pray that God will strengthen them each moment of their days, that they will feel His loving hand holding them in the midst of the difficulties they are facing. We pray that God will work through them, as He does each and every day, as they minister to the hurting. We pray that He will comfort them in their grieving and give them His peace.

We thank God for each person there and their commitment to the least of these, all of God’s children. Thank you for what you are doing.

  558. Amy January 20, 2010

Thank you for all you are doing in Haiti. All of you are in my prayers continually. May God bless you for your work there. Keep seeking God and doing His will.

    In Him, Amy

  559. Marie January 20, 2010

It’s hard to know what to say in times like these. Please know you are all as close to us as family. We wish we could be there to grieve with you, serve with you, minister to your needs and the needs of those around you. So in our helplessness, we ask God to do what we cannot. He has promised to give a peace that passes understanding, so that is what I ask for you. Strength for today and hope for tomorrow. God bless you and those around you.

    Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit

May God give all of you the strength and courage you need in the midst of this tragic event.
May you bring God’s comfort to the children and their families, and to each other. Bless you all.

    Father,
In Psalms You tell us to look unto the hills from whence cometh our help…that our help comes from You! How we need your help, Father. Our hearts are broken for our brothers and sisters…for their parents…children..and relatives. How can they continue without Your help. You have made the earth and all in it, You control the storms and can say “Peace” to them. You have said that we cannot trust in chariots or horses…but in Your Name. We call out to You, God most high for strength for our dear friends. God, help them…when help seems far away to find the children they give their lives for each day, give them wisdom to know how to help, how to comfort. Provide for food, medicine, medical help, water…safety…places to sleep safely. God be with them through this horrible storm and tempest. Comfort Your people, O God! Except for You…they will tire and faint beneath this load. But You O Lord are the Rock, the fortress, the place of refuge. Send aide Father! Bring just the right help …at just the right time. We ask that the God of wonders perform miracles on behalf of His people! My Your Word stay their hearts and minds! Use them as Your light in this time of darkness. Protect our little ones, Father. Care for those who are alone, those who are hurt, those who have lost parents or family members. We rely on the Name of the Lord our God! Because Your Son died for us and rose again…we will live and proclaim His name in all the earth! In Jesus Name, Amen.

  562. Sarah January 20, 2010

There aren’t words to express the thanks that so many people feel for the work that you are doing…just as there aren’t words to convey how sorry I am for the grief you are facing…Please know that there are so many people praying for you, the victims, the survivors, the rescue teams…It is so incredible that you are able to help out in a way that many in the US are not able to.
Thank you again for your sacrifice, you are loved and you are in our prayers!

  563. Lisa Whitlatch January 20, 2010

…our Lord said what you do for the least of these you have done for Me.

Our Lord I pray that You wrap the staff in your loving arms and hide them in the shelter of Your wings. Be their strength and their shield. Lord I pray that they will not lose heart and that You fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank you. Amen

  564. Angie Dybas January 20, 2010

There isn’t an hour that goes by that we aren’t thinking about you and praying for God’s comfort, strength and peace for all of you. We pray that you are surrounded and filled with the life and breath of the Holy Spirit. We lift you up before the throne of God. We can’t even imagine your pain, but we stand with you in your resolve to bring glory to God in this unthinkable tragedy.

  565. Debbie Wagner January 20, 2010

Heavenly Father, I ask that you hold each and every one of these selfless people close to You. Father, provide for their needs. Please guard their hearts from discouragement, dear Lord. Uplift them Father when they feel discouraged. Show them miracles, dear Lord. Father, bless them. Protect them and please help them know that You are walking right beside them. In Jesus’ Name I pray.

I commit to keep you all in my prayers. Your sacrifices are beyond my comprehension. I love you dear brothers and sisters in Christ.

    In His Name-
    Debbie Wagner

You are right in the palm of His mighty hand. Stand on Romans 8:31 – What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  567. Leslie Williams January 20, 2010

Father God, I am so thankful for the beautiful hearts of the compassion workers in Haiti. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it is for them to serve others while they themselves are dealing with this tragedy. Father, you are the healer and the comforter. Your grace is sufficient and I pray that these workers find rest in you. I pray that you wrap your arms around my brothers and sisters and uphold them with your righteous right hand. Give them strength to make it through the day. I pray that their efforts are multiplied and they have an abundance of resources to aid the people of haiti. Oh God, that your mercy and glory would shine through this tragedy. That your name would be glorified among the nations and the people of Haiti would proclaim your name with joy. God, I pray that my brothers and sisters in Haiti will run and not grow weary. And their strength will be renewed and they will soar on wings of eagles. God, you are the healer and the protecter. You never change. I am so thankful that You sent your son to die for us. Not because we deserve it, but because you Love us with a love I cannot wrap my mind around. God I pray that you hold them. I pray that they find comfort in you. I love you Father. In your precious Sons name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

  568. Kim January 20, 2010

    Father,

All I know is you are good, and you do good. You have many hurting and distraught workers in Haiti. Thank you for giving them another day here. Please console them. Let your peace flood their hearts. Let their lives be powerful messages of the gospel to those who do not know. Encourage us who are not there to help carry the burden, financially and emotionally, and to be a source of support for them. In the following days, would you give them wisdom and discernment, and much strength. May everything be for your glory.
    Amen.

  569. SC January 20, 2010

Lord, thank you for each and one of these precious staff members in Haiti. Please draw them near to you and comfort their physical and spiritual hurts. I ask that you give them strength to continue to do your work, to glorify your name, and to show those around them that you are our loving Father who offers the peace that passes all understanding, even in the midst of disaster.

Lord, please encourage each person, give them hope, let them lay their heavy yoke upon you, and free them to accept the rest knowing that you are always there for them.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen

Father God, there are no words to express our heartbreak over the loss of precious life in Haiti. I thank you, Father for the Compassion Haiti staff and each of their loved ones. Allow each one of them to be a light shining on a hill to bring hurting people to salvation. Ease their hurts…heal them…comfort them, Father. Give them wisdom and protection during this difficult time. And, Father, please help our beloved brothers and sisters to feel the love that goes out to them in our prayers. Let that love be so overwhelming to them that it lifts them up and bubbles out of them to pour upon their capital city and all of the hurting people around them. Bless the children especially. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

  578. Eric Skaggs January 20, 2010

Compassion staff, I am interceding on your behalf, nearly every moment of the day, and when I wake in the night! One of my specific prayers is (and will continue to be) that you sense the many, many prayers being lifted up on your behalf! I’m praying that the Spirit will sustain you moment by moment.

I cannot imagine what that must be like, but I feel strongly that you will be able to do the good works that are needed in Haiti’s time of need. I also believe that God will begin to smile upon you all, and the prayers we are saying for you will help, too. Please know that many people throughout the world are sending not only prayers, but money and food to you. Please take care of yourselves. I love you all!

Thank You! Thank you for your work! Thank you for everything you do everyday. Thank you for ministering to precious children. I can’t imagine having to do what the Lord is asking of you in these difficult days, but know that the prayers of many are with you, and the Lord will give you strength to complete His tasks. I hurt for your losses, and wish I could be there to help, to just hold your hands, and to let you have a moment of rest, but I cannot get there, so the Lord will have to provide some of that for you in my absence. May God bless you in spite of your pain, and give beauty for ashes, joy for pain, and praise instead of heaviness.
