This blog post is about our staff in Haiti. We would like this to be a bulletin board for you to share your prayers and encouragement for them and
with them.
Although many of our staff have suffered incredible losses as a result of this disaster, we are asking them to perform heroically, and they are!
And they’re doing so in the face of loss and widespread devastation that many of us can only imagine. Because we are a world away, it’s easy to overlook that what we’re asking them to deliver must be obtained in the midst of communication and transportation problems, aftershocks and deep personal trauma.
Numerous members of our staff in Haiti are grieving the deaths of family members and friends. Some have lost their homes, and others are injured themselves.
In light of all this, we ask that you leave a comment or prayer to encourage and strengthen them. We guarantee that they will see your comments, even if the comments have to be printed out in order to be delivered. We hope that as communication becomes more reliable, they will have the ability and opportunity to respond to you.

Hi Karen! Thank you so much for the love and concern you have for your sweet Jamesy. He is not on the list of children who were affected by the hurricane. However, that list is constantly being updated as our staff in Haiti is visiting each child in the program and assessing their needs. We will contact you if we learn that Jamesy was affected. Please keep all who are suffering from the hurricane in your prayers!
I pray that you be comforted and filled with the Holy Spirit as you advance the Kingdom of God through love. Of all of the callings of Christ, the call to love is the noblest. I pray that you all feel encouraged by the promises left to all of us by the God of peace. He told us in John 16:33 “These things I have spoken that in me you will have peace. In the world you will have much tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world.” Hold on to your faith, and know that even though times are hard, and your work seems to never end, you can rest in the one who asks you to bring your burdens to Him, and He will give you peace! You are not forgotten! Please remember that many others have hearts for Haiti. I have been to Haiti several times on mission trips and I sponsor a child from Haiti. I am presently helping with a Haitian Protestant church here in Torbeck, South Haiti : I found one case here of a baby of 6 months raised by the sister of the mother , the mother had the child out of wedlock (raped) an is mentally ill, can`t care for the baby ; the sister asked me if we can sponsor this baby as herself has 7 kids and financially can`t support this baby. I will be leaving Torbeck in 13 days to go back to the USA.

I have been a sponsor to a Compassion child in Haiti for many years. In fact, he is no longer a child. He is 18! I received a letter from him about two weeks ago, and I am very impressed with and proud of the person he has become. I am so thankful for this young man who loves God and who is working hard in his studies. Thank you for your hard work. Thank you for helping to release children from poverty. Thank you for your perseverance in times of grief and sadness.

It has been a couple years since the earthquake yet it seems like just yesterday that the images of Haiti were all over the news broadcasts. It was heart wrenching to watch what was happening there and we prayed as we continue to pray today for Haiti. My son went to Haiti in June of 2012 with a group to help minister in any way they could. He came back with a new urgency to pray. About four months ago I began sponsoring a little girl from Haiti and have really begun to pray for her and her family and also for Haiti. I just wanted to encourage all of you who work tirelessly with little appreciation. God knows your name, where you are, and the deepest concerns of your hearts. He will never leave you or forsake you. His smile is upon you and He appreciates your hard work and your reward will be in heaven and nothing here on earth will ever compare. I want to thank you for all you are doing. You ARE making a difference.

I am sorry that I have taken to so long to respond to this blog, but i hope that my message will be delivered to you in the right time. I am Haitian myself and it has been many years since I have been in my country. I would like to come back. It is with great excitement and admiration that I watch and hear of you serving our country, defending the weak and sick, while surrendering to God the strength that you have left to worship him. I am encouraged by your deeds and I praise God for you. Continue to do the good work for your rewards are laid out in heaven in the house of riches of the wonderful Bridegroom, Our Christ. You are the hands and feet of Christ our Lord. He came to deliver the sick and uplift the poor.

I realize that this has been 2 years since the time of the original post. God led me to sponsor a 4 year old boy from Haiti through Compassion International. I don’t know why God led me to do this but I know that I can trust God when he leads me.
I have been sponsoing this boy for about 6 months. In that time I have learned a lot more about Haiti then I would have otherwise taken the time to learn. God bless you Dyasmy and Compassion! Sponsoring a child through Compassion in Haiti is so important to me. I cherish the child I sponsor in Haiti. I believe that it is through the wonderful compassionate hearts of those who serve with Comapassion in Hait, that it is truly the only way that I can communicate and sponsor my child. It takes a village to raise a child, and as an adopted child, I know how important it is to give love with no boundaries to someone you don”t know without questions in your heart. Loving others unconditionally is truly the greatest gift we can give. I pray every day for the people of Haiti, and know that my sponsorship is only possible with the help of those who serve in Haiti. My sponsored little girl is in Grison-Garde. She is now a part of my extended family. I love writing to her, sendign thigns to her, and receiving her letters and drawings.

Please know that literally thousands of prayers are going up for you on a daily basis. My prayer for you today is that you would allow God to bring comfort to your hurt and wounded spirits. He is the only one whom you can really depend on when you are facing the walls of despair that you must face on a daily basis there in Haiti. May God put His loving arms around you and hug you close to Him and not let go until we see in coming in the sky. And I do believe that the awesome earthquake that you have experienced is a sign of His soon coming. Please don’t get discouraged when things don’t go quite like you want them too because you are just facing the war with Satan. I heard a saying that I think fits here nicely. “If you aren’t at war with the devil everyday then you better check up because something is wrong”. Having visited Haiti in 1998 as a tourist on holiday in the Dominican Republic my abiding memory is of a people with very little if anything of material possesions and of most people with a smile on their face. We crossed the border at Ouinaminthe and drove along dirt roads to a town that I forget the name of where goods from aid packages were being sold in the market. On the way we visited a bakery and a lady who’s home was a 2 room building with a tin roof. As a tourist from a western European country I felt so blessed to be able to travel and see other parts of the world but it left a feeling that people did not need to be in need. So I pray for a more even distribution of the World’s resources and for a regular reminder that I can play a small part.

I am not quite sure how to address someone who is doing and living, breathing a life of servanthood before my very ears. You are doing the things that I have read about in stories and in the Bible. Oh, now I see that it is many of you that God references in the word when he speaks of those who are faithful, and those whose aroma is pleasing before him because of the righteous heart you possess deep in your soul. I hope to one day join you in the labor that you do. Do not grow weary, for your crown(s) in heaven await you and your treasures are being multiplied each moment that you give away a breath, sweat drop, tears and even blood for the friend, enemy and brother\sister in Haiti.

I want you to know that I am praying for you in Haiti… I can not imagine all of the devastation you must all be going through in so many different ways, but as Believers in Jesus Christ, we know, that we know, that we know, that we know that He is in control. He promises us He will never give you more than you can bear, and that He WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU!!!!! May you hold onto these promises… May God surround you each one w/the Peace that passes ALL understanding, because none of this trauma makes sense. As hard as it is for you adults, image how much worse for the children. I am praying that you can reach out of your own sorrows & troubles to comfort the children that really don’t understand!!!
I have two grown sons and when they were younger I encouraged & taught them that if we were ever involved in any type of natural disaster and separated from one another, not knowing if the others of us were alive or not, to have those moments of trying to find each other, but then realize that because we ALL Love the Lord we were guaranteed to see one another in Heaven. And invest their energies in helping those around them that had or felt no hope!!! Our Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and Righteousness, I dare not trust the sweetest name, but Holy lean on Jesus Name. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand ALL other ground is sinking sand, ALL other ground is sinking sand….

Dear Compassion Staff and church workers in Haiti,
Thank you so much for being the hands and feet of Jesus amidst such darkness. May the God of Abraham give you peace that passes all understanding, grace that flows abundantly and freely over you and through you, and above all His love to do what He has called you to do while you are dealing with your own issues. I encourage you to call upon the promises of God when you get weary because He will give you His rest. Tuck these scriptures away in your heart and meditate on them to soothe your soul and ease your pain. Our God is a God of restoration! He is our provider, Jehovah Jireh! Let His comfort surround you and carry you.

I pray that – just as you have cared for them and used them for your glory this past year – that you would continue to strengthen them especially now. It is hard for us to realize what you all have been through, but you are in our thoughts and prayers. Honestly, I read this text and did not know what to write to you, dear brothers. But, talking to our God, He led me to do a reading in Matthew 13, the parable of the sower. Until then it had not understood what God wanted me to minister to your hearts, but now I understand.
You are great sowers of love and hope of Christ. Christ in us is the hope of glory! And you will be seen through the glory of God. Your life is a perfect testament to the extravagant love of our Jesus is the perfect expression of God’s grace. Feel happy for being chosen to live in these difficult days here in Haiti. You have been chosen for the image and likeness of the creator, were called to bring love and hope to the lives lost. You are true warriors and the Lord’s disciples. And in Jesus’ name, I encourage them to continue to sow, to praise the Lord at all times. To love each person as if it were your last day. God has been looking for you in a very special and certainly he says, “I found those who worship in spirit and in truth, who loves me for who I am and love me with all your strength.” As the Apostle Paul says, we should be happy all the time and you are a channel of blessing to so many people living in Haiti. The Wall Street Journal has an editorial saying that the US and the UN SHOULD DO SOMETHING! about the corruption in Haiti that prevents aid from reaching people. I’m so very grateful to know that you all are DOING SOMETHING already, day in and day out, and have done so every day since the quake hit nearly a year ago.

Thank you my brothers and sisters in Christ. You are truly men and women after God’s own heart. You are there in Haiti supporting his children and showing them the love of our wonderful savior. Jesus said “If you love me, you will do even greater things than I” (Not a direct quote”. May the Lord Bless you and keep you, may he make his face to shine upon you each and every day. Remember God loves you and will uplift you. You are in my heart and my prayers.

We continue in prayer for you daily. At http://www.OurCompassion.org we have a prayer blog for the children in Haiti who were in some way injured by the earthquake. This includes those whose homes were destroyed, and those who themselves still are unaccounted for. In the past week, we have had great cause to rejoice as you have informed several of our sponsors that their children have been found unharmed. When we hear this wonderful news, we remember Our Lord’s parable when the Father cried out “My son, who was dead, is alive”. Also, every week another sponsor writes to us to inform us that their child is still missing. This grieves us, but we know that it is a very hard thing to locate families that may have moved far from their homes to relatives you do not know about, or to a camp which has no system of keeping account of people. We pray for you as you continue to seek out your children and ours. We praise God for your diligence and love, and pray daily for your health and your families and ministries.

Just wanted to let you know that we are with you and we are praying for you. You have been on our hearts since we were first gripped by the tragedy unfolding on Haiti. You are amazing people!
Last week I added a little Haitian girl to my Compassion family. I had noticed Compassion Canada finally had Haitian children posted – maybe about 30 or 40 – and had noticed a set of twins. I came back the next night and almost half of the children were gone, including one of the twins. I couldn’t let one twin be sponsored and not the other. I wanted some way to reach out and let Haiti know we love you and we are praying for you. sponsoring a child seemed a tangible way to connect with Haiti and remind the Haitian people that we have NOT forgotten and that we will be with you for the long haul. My little Christine and her twin sister, Christina, are in Project 763, which is right in Pout-au-Prince as far as I can figure out.
We’ll keep praying for your country and for the work you are doing, in the midst of so much tragedy and heart-ache.

You all are angels! I was in Haiti on my first mission trip when the earthquake occured working With a mission a few hours away from Port-Au-Prince. I saw the heart of the Haitian people so much in the hours and days that followed. The Haitians that worked for the mission came to right away, even though they had families and houses out in the destruction they came to us. They were praising God in the even as the tremors occurred almost constantly. The Haitian men stayed up all night long and watched over us while we slept at night because we were sleeping outside and our security walls were down. They were our angels every moment. And the night we left for Haiti, they prayed for hours because they knew our journey to Port-Au-Prince would be a dangerous one. Many of them lost houses and family but they were their for US. Thank you for the work you are doing, because I know these same things can be said of you. You are an amazing people!

You are doing this despite the unimaginable losses and grieving, which only two months on are certainly not gone. Please know that we still are with you daily in our thoughts and prayers. May the Lord heal your wounds as you seek His comfort. The Lord says: “I will make you well again; I will heal your wounds” (Jer. 30:17). – May the Lord also renew your strength, may He protect you, and may He pour out his blessings on you so that you may be a blessing to those you minister to. I commit you all to His loving care.

I bring before you my brothers and sisters in Haiti who are working so sacrificially in Your name, dependent on it at the same time. Bless them as they bless the little children and families that they are serving. Please give them great wisdom in the big and small decisions they make daily. May they be decisions that will lay the foundation for greater works in the future in Your name. Please take tender care of each one of these brothers and sisters and their own families, their spiritual, emotional and physical well-being; pour Your living waters upon them as they pour it on those they serve. I don’t think I could express it or pray it better than Elaine above. I will add to that, we are praying for you all (staff and beneficiaries)that you have the Lord’s protection: warmth and dryness, against the rainy season. That there will be no mudslides. We ask you Lord that you provide only enough rain to fill cisterns, and provide for crops. please Lord, protect your people from the harmful effects of being wet many hours a day. Also Lord, we ask in advance, please prepare weather systems so that the hurricane season bypasses Haiti, with no more than a useful amount of rain, and no harmful wind. We know O Lord that the wind and the waves and the rain know your voice and obey you.

Dear Heavenly Father:
Continue to keep all of your children of all ages under your wing of protection and refugee. Provide for all of their needs with joyful abundance and may that abundance radiate onto others. Fill each of the staff with Jesus’ glorious love overflowing. May Jesus put a healing hand on all of them and whom they touch to comfort those that mourn and heal any spiritual, mental and physical injuries. Tears fill my eyes and my heart is overwhelmed with sadness when I think of the loss that Haiti has endured. The child I sponsor lived in one of the hardest hit areas. Thank you for being there, even when it is scary, and unpleasant is not a strong enough word. I am thankful for you every time my sponsored child comes to mind, and I begin to worry. Where I want to search out my child, and hug her, and protect her, and feed her, I cannot, but you, who have already suffered so much, can comfort and provide for these people I have come to love so much, and you are. Instead of fleeing, you have stayed to care for my child, our sponsored children and their families. I know it takes courage to to stand and be the stability in a chaotic world, and it takes a strong will to stand long enough to find that courage. I am praying that God makes his presence and comfort known in your hearts, and his mercy and love known in your country, and gives you guidance, and an unnatural amount of faith and hope. I have followed the heartbreaking news in Haiti initially because our Sunday School has a child there. She is OK, but experiencing the same daily shortages. Our children’s ministry has sponsored a little girl in Haiti for 7 years. Well, she’s not so little anymore! For all of these years, we have taught our children to faithfully pray for Rebecca.
Her CDC is on the list of those that have been significantly affected, and our entire church is praying for her.
But more than that, we are praying for you – for each and every one of you. For you serve in spite of monumental losses of your own, and you must hear news that we dread hearing, on a scale that we cannot understand.

Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ in Haiti… we are praying with you, standing, kneeling, weeping, grieving, and even rejoicing at stories of hope and the mercies of God shown to you and through you in such a time. I am gripped by two small words hidden in the gospel of John 11… Jesus wept. Despite His knowing the end from the beginning, despite His sovereignty as God incarnate, God in the flesh stood in the face of loss, of suffering, of death, and He did not give a long speech explaining His ways or fill the air with hollow theology… He only wept and with every tear that fell, the Theology of the Ages is revealed and His fullness rends our hearts with a God so near, so tender, and so uniquely compassionate. And so we weep and we rejoice and we love Him and stand with you and stand with so many who are standing alone. May Love Himself abound still more and more in your hearts as you love the Haitian people so fully. Praying for you daily…praying for the Haitian fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters…carrying you all in our hearts.

This is just another reminder that God is sovereign over all the world and this could happen to any of us at any time if it is Gods will.We do not know why tragedies happen but we can be comforted in knowing that God will provide the resources and strength that you will need to glorify Him through this devastating time.
You are in my prayers daily. I pray for courage and strength of body and mind. I also pray that God will supply your needs for food, water, medical supplies and extra hands to help. God is with you!!
Thank you for what you are doing. I was just praying for your country and the children you are helping. Then I got this message from Compassion. I have been blessed by reading the other prayers that people have posted to this blog and it gives me comfort as I know it gives you comfort to know that people all over the world are praying for your strength and needs daily, hourly, minute by minute. What a blessing our Lord and Savior is! We will continue to pray.

God does not withhold any good thing from those who love Him. All of you are demonstrating your love for Him through your every action during this difficult time in Haiti. I wish I could be present with you and stroke my hand down the side of your faces and tell you that God is so proud of what you are doing to help His people in the midst of all the chaos. The amazing faith of the Haitian people has been shining through despite everything. It is truly an inspiration to the rest of us – thank you, Haiti! I believe that in the coming months and years, a newer and brighter Haiti will emerge – filled with even more examples of your enduring faith and love of God.
Please rejoice in the small blessings that you receive each day and in the small accomplishments. I can tell you the value of this from personal experience. Several years ago, we had a major house fire and were forced to live elsewhere for 6 months while the house was being rebuilt. While the gravity of this situation was nothing in comparison to what you all are experiencing, I did learn the importance of rejoicing in small accomplishments. Sometimes it was too difficult or too overwhelming to look at everything that needed to be done, and I learned to set small (and realistic) goals that would fill me with the joy of accomplishment. Together the small things will add up to something big. This is my prayer for you.
You are being prayed for in Saint Louis, Missouri! Our church is holding a prayer, worship night, tonight just for you. We are sending you more HOPE through prayer and donations to Compassion International. I am so grateful to all of you for continuing to serve God and the church while your hearts are so broken. I can’t imagine the pain that you feel and the things that you’ve seen. Know that our God is a faithful, loving God who sees your faithfulness and will reward it. Keep your hearts focused on him and just take everything one day at a time. Don’t get overwhelmed by what may be looming in the future, just live in today. I love you all and I am praying for you.

During this difficult time, we expectantly ask you to give our Compassion family comfort, strength and meet our needs according to your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. We pray for our Compassion family to continue to do deeds that bear good fruit; we want to continue to grow in the knowledge of you Lord. I pray for David’s family as he is still missing. I pray for all staff who are working so hard to find the children and their families under such discouraging circumstances. I pray for the relief efforts, and that lives will be saved.

We’ve talked about how life is so difficult there, about the plight of the restaviks, and we’ve thanked God for each of you who are there being the hands and feet of Christ, meeting the physical needs while pointing them to the Living Bread that will satisfy their hunger for eternity. Thank you for the work that you did representing Christ before the earthquake and thank you for your faithfulness to continue that work, no matter how heartbreaking, now. May the peace of God guard and strengthen your hearts in all that you encounter. Know that you were born for this work, at this specific time and that you have all that you need to complete it. Those whose earthly lives are finished are precious to God and they stand in that great crowd of witnesses encouraging you on. What a blessing you are to your team as the shepherd of such a flock of ‘soldiers of the faith’ and ‘warriors for the Lord’.
It is ‘for such a time as this’ that God has equipped you to be the Country Director. Even at a young age He prepared you for this moment…when you and your brother were away at school and you were caring for the daily needs of meals and laundry and study…as a mere child yourself…the Lord was training you for this very moment.
No “5 year plan” could prepare anyone for such an event, yet the testimony of the teamwork, the care you all have for your partners and children and each other, the appreciation you have for those who send you supplies…all these things bring Glory to God’s name…we, the watching world, cannot help but say: Look HOW they love one another!

Haiti Brothers and Sisters in Christ – You are in my prayers. May the Lord comfort you as you grieve, give you strength for the work He has called you to and provide all that you need. I truly cannot fathom the greatness of this disaster. IT is hard at times to keep faith and remember Romans 8:28 “All things work together for those who love Him”, but my prayer is simply that YOU will be glorified endlessly. You have been heavy on my heart this past week or so. I want you to know that since I cannot be there to get my hands dirty helping out, that I have been praying dilligently. I pray that you will be able to find peace in this suffering from our God who is so much bigger than anything we can imagine. I pray for healing. I pray for boldness. But most importantly I pray that the people of Haiti, will come to know our God who can give them true joy in the midst of sorrow.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

May God’s grace be sufficient for all that you need during this time of crisis. I pray that God will uphold your every effort with his strong right hand and bless the sacrifice you make on behalf of the children and all of us who have not the opportunity, the inclination or time to join you in your work. I know that God is with you. May you look at every rescue as a miracle sent directly from His hand to encourage you and show you that He is with you and that your are operating in His will and purpose right now. May you be filled with his peace everyday. It is my prayer that as you comfort others, you will also be comforted.
This situation, while very sad, is one where I keep having to thank God.
Thank God for every miracle survivor. Thank God that the Compassion building is still standing. Thank God for the decades of hard work you have all put into building connections, ministering to families, seeing kids and families saved for eternity, developing an infrastructure that is invaluable at a time like this. Your labours are bearing fruit right now like never before. Praise the Lord!
I also thank God for the hope that this crisis gives Haiti. Hope that He will make it replace that which was lost with so much better than there was before. May the world not forget Haiti until the nation is totally rebuilt. Hope that this will turn many Haitian hearts to Christ.

Isaiah 58:12 Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will become known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.
Matthew 16:18 Now I say to you that you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.
We pray that God will enable you His church to rebuild not only it’s physical walls but also the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, His people by bringing hope in the face of such tragedy.
Praying the Lord’s mighty and healing presence with each of you and all throughout your city, praying His protection and provision and comfort, standing with you in faith and believing His promises for His children…He will never leave you or forsake you, you are His beloved, chosen people, you are not alone. Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge;His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”
I am so thankful for each and everyone of you for all you do. My husband and I had the privilege of meeting Thimothee from PAP, Israel, Israel’s mom, and a precious lady from Chantal in 2008 during our individual visit with our boy in Haiti. It was such a blessing and we got some amazing photos of that time together. I always introduce them as my extended family.

I know a lot of you have lost so much, loved ones, homes… please know that we love you and we´ll continue to pray. This scripture comes to my mind when I think of you:
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30-31”. May you feel His strength today, thank you for reaching out to those in need… even when you are hurting too and for setting that example of love and courage. May God show you His mighty hand in the midst of all this trouble. God bless you our beloved brothers and sisters…

I have prayed continually since the earthquake. While I don’t know you personally, I value the work you do day in and day out. May the God of power and love touch you in the places of despair and reassure you of His ever sufficient love. Compassion Staff in Haiti – I had the privilege of meeting the Compassion Staff in El Salvador in October. So I have seen the heart and dedication that you posses.
May God sustain you, surround you, go before you, and make His presence known to you today as you face difficulties and challenges that I cannot imagine and you seek to reach out to comfort those around you in the name of Jesus.
May the Lord give you encouragement and perseverance all through these terrible circumstances you are going through! We are praying for you from Romania.
Even if you feel overwhelmed (understandingly) in the face of so much disaster, and even if you feel that whatever you can do is little and so insufficient, you are making a difference! Terrible things are going on there, I know. Now truly you have to hold on to the Word of God, because it’s really everything that can give you comfort. Our words might cheer you up a little, but only the God who created you knows how to talk to you in the proper way… I ask you to please remember Job, how much he suffered, lost everything, just like the people there, but didn’t renounce, he knew the God in who he trusted, which is the God who has the whole universe in His hands, and NOTHING happens without His consense.
Think about Paul, he suffered persecution, prision, but God rescued him from all his sorrows. So many others in the Word…
Be sure: He is watching out for you, He knows exactly what each of you is thinking, and if You don’t renounce, He will be with you every single day, as it has been so far. Your work there is not done, and now is the time to show more and more LOVE.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You that You are in complete control and are not surprised by anything that faces Your people. I pray that you would strengthen Your people in Haiti, specifically the faithful Compassion workers who are laboring for You, serving others. I pray for physical rest, spiritual encouragement, time for fellowship and refreshment even if for only a few minutes at a time. I pray for healing for physical wounds and comfort for hurting hearts. I pray for Your gospel to be spread by their testimony in word and deed. I pray that their lives would shine forth your love and that the people of Haiti would come to You in droves!
Father, I cannot go to Haiti, but I pray that You would keep me faithful to pray for those who are there working day by day. Please keep them encouraged. Please give them other people to talk to about what they are experiencing so that they do not become overwhelmed. Please help them to feel Your love and presence that You promise to Your children.

People throughout the world are devastated by your suffering- we really do care. Each time I think of your situation I cry. We do not know why God has allowed this, but we do know that He is good, and we are promised ‘that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.'(Rom8.28) I know it must be difficult to see any good right now amidst your sadness and grief, but we know that God’s Word does not lie- so good will come. And we will certainly be rejoicing with you to hear of it.
Stay strong in Jesus. Remember Job 1.21-22.

I had the blessed opportunity to visit Haiti and some of the Compassion staff with a group named Student Life last fall. Please know that all of our prayers are with you. To see the pictures of you all working in the carpark on behalf of the children despite your own deep personal losses was truly inspiring. Words cannot convey how much you are in our thoughts and prayers. It’s Ok to wonder where God is in all of this, but of course you know He is right there with you.
We are praying for you! I know that what you are doing is making a huge impact on everyone around you. I can’t imagine what you are going through, but I pray that God would continue to give you strength to make it through each day and provided abundantly as he always does. Thanks for spreading Christ’s love everywhere you go in a place that needs it desperately.

Praying for God’s strength for you as you continue your ministry even in the face of personal tragedy. I can only imagine what you are facing and the tasks before, but all things are possible with our God whose heart I know is broken by the suffering. Even so, He is able to use all things to and for His glory. Thank you for your love of these churches and projects, but most importantly the children. They might, otherwise, be forgotten as they cannot speak for themselves.

You have been an inspiration to me. I remember well my visit there in 2002. I have wanted to return ever since. I have two children there that I have sponsored; one is 29 and may have been in Port-au-Prince. The other is his younger brother that I still sponsor (on La Gonave).
We have not ceased praying for you and will continue to stand beside you. God will be sufficient for all your needs, and He will not let us forget to pray.
I would encourage you to consider scriptures that speak of “The Living God,” such as Jeremiah 10:10 — “But the LORD is the true God; He is the Living God, the eternal King.” And these words from King Darius in Daniel 6:26-27 — “For He is The Living God and He endures forever; His Kingdom will not be destroyed; His dominion will never end.” Here is one from Simon Peter in Matthew 16:16-17 — “‘You are the Christ, the Son of The Living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in Heaven.'”
Finally, a scripture that reminds me of YOU: “You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of The Living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts.” This is our ministry and God’s glory. It is the Spirit that gives you strength, courage and fruitfulness. He will be enough for you in the days ahead.
Praying for you, the families you work with, and all of those so profoundly affected by the earthquake. Thank you for continuing to be a blessing to the people of Haiti even as you grieve and recover yourselves.
My heart breaks with yours for all your suffering. Jesus’ heart also breaks with yours. He was a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. May He continually carry your sorrows and bring you peace. You are not forgotten!

Give your servants an inexplicable ability to keep pushing through! God, they need your eyes, your strength, your mercy and power! God, have mercy on them, please! Lifting up you and your families in prayer during this time of great need is a privilege for our family. Your dedication and service to Christ serves as a reminder to us to “love our neighbor as ourselves.” Through this great tragedy comes an awareness of Haiti and all the many faces of Haiti. My children and I have talked about how before the earthquake, Haiti was just another country in our minds, now to us it is a very real place with very real people who have very real needs and it is now greatly on our hearts. Words cannot express how deeply you are loved and we thank you for the hard work you do, and also for your generous love for others.
There is little I can say that can comfort your grieving hearts, however, I pray and believe that our Heavenly Father can sustain you and comfort your heart as no other can. Thank you for all you are doing for the precious people of Haiti.

Father in heaven, our hearts have been broken by the devastation in Haiti and the suffering of your people, there. Most of us cannot begin to grasp what they are experiencing, now, but our hearts go out to them.
We know that You were not surprised, when the earthquake struck. We know You were there, in every building, on every street, in every home, and we know that You grieve with everyone who is grieving. We know You were with each one who was killed in the earthquake, or who died while buried under the rubble or lying on the streets, as they waited for help to come.
Thank you for placing your people where they can be salt and light amid the devastation, and bless those who continue to serve, even in their own bereavement.
Father, You gave us arms to reach out to people in comfort, but our arms are not long enough to reach across miles and oceans. But we know that You have a way of wrapping Your arms around each person who has a deep ache, around each survivor who has lost precious loved ones. We ask you to do that for us.
We ask you also to comfort the pastors and church leaders. Let them feel your Presence so strongly that they will know absolutely that you have not abandoned them. Let them know that many tears are shed for them by people they have met, and by many that they have never met, and that we pray for them.
We pray for the children. Oh, God, how we ache for the children! Will you reunite children with their parents; will you lead rescuers to each child who is still buried under rubble or unaccounted for; will you provide homes for orphans and children for bereaved parents.
O Lord, we long for the day when we will all be with you, forever.
Until then, keep us moving forward, keep us mobilized to minister to the lost and the suffering. Make us wise in our efforts to help, and multiply what is given many-fold, just as you did with the loaves and fishes.
Thank you for bidding us to come to you, for inviting us to pour out our hearts to you, and for promising never to leave us or forsake us. We love you so much, even when we love you imperfectly, and we leave all of these requests at your feet, in the name of Jesus. Amen

Dear Haiti staff,
Our hearts are broken and heavy with you. We can’t even begin to imagine what you are going through but we are praying constantly for you throughout the day. I have updates from compassion posted on my FB status and many are praying for you. I’ve been reading in I Peter and have been amazed at how much “suffering” and “glory” go together. You may not be able to see at this moment how God can be glorified in this, but just yesterday, 2 of my family members sponsored children through Compassion b/c of my FB status updates. Also, our little Peterson is in PAP – HA 763. He stays on my mind constantly. I was feeling a bit sad the other night and reading some of his letters. He had mentioned Isaiah 41:10. It says “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, and I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
I know the pain and sorrow you are feeling is greater than anything I have experienced, but I have been praying this verse for Peterson and now for all of you. Please know you are loved, cared about and prayed for. We love you. You are constantly on our minds, hearts and in our prayers.
Words somehow can not express the deep sorrow I feel for the country of Haiti. I have felt such a connection there over the last 7 years of supporting our CI child. I was scheduled to come visit you all in March and my heart aches that you are hurting now. Your courage and faith are truly inspiring and my prayers and heart are with you daily. In Psalms You tell us to look unto the hills from whence cometh our help…that our help comes from You! How we need your help, Father. Our hearts are broken for our brothers and sisters…for their parents…children..and relatives. How can they continue without Your help. You have made the earth and all in it, You control the storms and can say “Peace” to them. You have said that we cannot trust in chariots or horses…but in Your Name. We call out to You, God most high for strength for our dear friends. God, help them…when help seems far away to find the children they give their lives for each day, give them wisdom to know how to help, how to comfort. Provide for food, medicine, medical help, water…safety…places to sleep safely. God be with them through this horrible storm and tempest. Comfort Your people, O God! Except for You…they will tire and faint beneath this load. But You O Lord are the Rock, the fortress, the place of refuge. Send aide Father! Bring just the right help …at just the right time. We ask that the God of wonders perform miracles on behalf of His people! My Your Word stay their hearts and minds! Use them as Your light in this time of darkness. Protect our little ones, Father. Care for those who are alone, those who are hurt, those who have lost parents or family members. We rely on the Name of the Lord our God! Because Your Son died for us and rose again…we will live and proclaim His name in all the earth! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Uplift them Father when they feel discouraged. Show them miracles, dear Lord. Father, bless them. Protect them and please help them know that You are walking right beside them. In Jesus’ Name I pray.

You are right in the palm of His mighty hand. Stand on Romans 8:31 – What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Father God, I am so thankful for the beautiful hearts of the compassion workers in Haiti. I can’t begin to imagine how hard it is for them to serve others while they themselves are dealing with this tragedy. Father, you are the healer and the comforter. Your grace is sufficient and I pray that these workers find rest in you. I pray that you wrap your arms around my brothers and sisters and uphold them with your righteous right hand. Give them strength to make it through the day. I pray that their efforts are multiplied and they have an abundance of resources to aid the people of haiti. Oh God, that your mercy and glory would shine through this tragedy. That your name would be glorified among the nations and the people of Haiti would proclaim your name with joy. God, I pray that my brothers and sisters in Haiti will run and not grow weary. And their strength will be renewed and they will soar on wings of eagles. God, you are the healer and the protecter. You never change. I am so thankful that You sent your son to die for us. Not because we deserve it, but because you Love us with a love I cannot wrap my mind around. God I pray that you hold them. I pray that they find comfort in you. I love you Father. In your precious Sons name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

All I know is you are good, and you do good. You have many hurting and distraught workers in Haiti. Thank you for giving them another day here. Please console them. Let your peace flood their hearts. Let their lives be powerful messages of the gospel to those who do not know. Encourage us who are not there to help carry the burden, financially and emotionally, and to be a source of support for them. In the following days, would you give them wisdom and discernment, and much strength. May everything be for your glory.

Lord, thank you for each and one of these precious staff members in Haiti. Please draw them near to you and comfort their physical and spiritual hurts. I ask that you give them strength to continue to do your work, to glorify your name, and to show those around them that you are our loving Father who offers the peace that passes all understanding, even in the midst of disaster.
Lord, please encourage each person, give them hope, let them lay their heavy yoke upon you, and free them to accept the rest knowing that you are always there for them.

Father God, there are no words to express our heartbreak over the loss of precious life in Haiti. I thank you, Father for the Compassion Haiti staff and each of their loved ones. Allow each one of them to be a light shining on a hill to bring hurting people to salvation. Ease their hurts…heal them…comfort them, Father. Give them wisdom and protection during this difficult time. And, Father, please help our beloved brothers and sisters to feel the love that goes out to them in our prayers. Let that love be so overwhelming to them that it lifts them up and bubbles out of them to pour upon their capital city and all of the hurting people around them. Bless the children especially. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hello to all of you wonderful people! I read that many of you have lost loved ones or are injured yourselves. I cannot imagine what that must be like, but I feel strongly that you will be able to do the good works that are needed in Haiti’s time of need. I also believe that God will begin to smile upon you all, and the prayers we are saying for you will help, too. Please know that many people throughout the world are sending not only prayers, but money and food to you. Please take care of yourselves. I love you all!
You are there because God has chosen you; Trust He will equip you for what He has called you to do. Have faith, be strong, and know that legions are united in prayer for you. God Bless and protect you all.

I can’t imagine having to do what the Lord is asking of you in these difficult days, but know that the prayers of many are with you, and the Lord will give you strength to complete His tasks. I hurt for your losses, and wish I could be there to help, to just hold your hands, and to let you have a moment of rest, but I cannot get there, so the Lord will have to provide some of that for you in my absence. We pray that he will keep you safe, and will continue to provide resources for you to continue your work there.
We pray that you will learn through your experiences with the people of Haiti, both for your relationship with God, and so you can share with others so that they may see God through you.
