Sometimes, in the midst of any kind of storm in our lives, we start to wonder if there is any possibility we will come out alive.
Most of us lose hope in God and think He is no longer with us. God taught me about this some time ago. If He is with me, I can pass through any kind of storm and come out alive!
I was in a situation of not knowing which direction I should take with my work and ministry as a pastor. I was newly employed with the Compassion family, and I knew that was exactly where the Lord called me to serve at this time and season.
But after a while, other people told me I made a wrong decision to be a full-time worker. I felt like I was not in a right place and started wrestling within myself. You know, brethren, a battle within yourself is harder than when you’re fighting someone else.
I went through it for a month, and then one morning in our devotion, a preacher talked about the apostle Paul sailing to Rome. He just knew God wanted him to go there, but the storm came their way, and they did not think they could fulfill God’s plan.
Then Paul encouraged the other fellows: “But now I urge you to keep up your courage, because not one of you will be lost; only the ship will be destroyed” (Act 27:22). When it comes to doing the will of God, you will be shaken when you meet up with a storm or even just some wind.
But you will come out alive, just because the Lord is with you.
I want to encourage you, brethren. There are so many types of storms on our way to heaven. Sometimes you find yourself in the midst of it, and you are not sure if you will make it out or not. If the Lord is with you, just believe you will make it.
Keep up your courage! It will happen just as He told you!
“So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.” —Acts 27:25, NIV
Prayer: Lord, help all of us to believe that as long as you are in the ship, we will come out victorious in Jesus’ name. Amen.
