Top 10 Instagram Photos of 2014

One of the great advantages of working in countries around the world is capturing images and stories of the amazing people and places we see every single day. While we like to show off the best pictures on our Instagram feed, you might have been a bit busy this year and missed some of our favorites.

10. October 20

This little cutie from #SriLanka just brightened up our afternoon and we had to share her smile with you! Our work in Sri Lanka began just a few years ago – in 2010. Since then, our program has grown to serve over 7000 kids in 60 development centers to help children and families become all God has created them to be.

9. September 29

Baby girls around the world, like Viviana from the #DominicanRepublic, face a lifetime full of hope and joy when they are the focus of the global Church. Our Child Survival Program ensures that moms and babies get food and clean water, health education, Bibles and Bible teaching, and counseling and emotional support. October 11 is International Day of the Girl Child. The power of helping girls dream big dreams can influence the destiny entire nations. Even today, the #NobelPeacePrize was given to 17-year-old Malala Yousafzai for her work in promoting education for girls in #Pakistan. Simply amazing! 7. September 15

Four boys in #Indonesia proudly display Bibles they were given through @Compassion’s program. In Indonesia, over 100,000 kids participate in more than 500 child development center through Compassion’s partnership with local churches. For over 40 years, we have served this beautiful country and its precious people. And we couldn’t do it without your faithful help. Thank you!

Meet Baby Gift (Yes, that’s his real name! Isn’t that great?!). Gift is one of the kids enrolled in our Child Survival Program in #Uganda. This program serves both mothers and children and gives them the resources to become healthy productive members of their community. 1. November 17

Celebrate Universal Children’s Day on November 20th with us! #Kids are the heart of what we do. Kids like Baby Ontu, who is nestled and sleeping soundly. His parents can’t afford a cradle so they use this beautiful cloth and pin it to the roof of their house in #Bangladesh as a makeshift cradle. As part of our #ChildSurvival Program, his mother, Geeta, and he receive nourishment, health care, and health awareness teaching.
