When I was a little girl, I was a big bookworm. Well actually, I still am! But as a little girl, I used my imagination and resources I had around me to create my own little home library. Card catalog, library cards, and borrower cards gave all of my friends a chance to borrow books from my library.
Thinking back on this magical playtime of my childhood got me to thinking about how my own sponsored children might spend their time playing. From recent letters, Felix shared with me that he likes to play soccer, and Lina enjoys going on walks with her friends and her tutor from the project.
Children everywhere have a strong capacity to be creative because God created us that way. And research shows that when the brain is growing, play is needed to make connections that contribute to memory, learning, emotional regulation and social intelligence.
At the Compassion centers, sponsored children are given the opportunity to spend time playing and learning to play with others in safe and clean environments.

- Dominoes is a simple classic game that all ages can enjoy. This dominoes printable is an easy way to teach the game.
- Consider telling your sponsored child about your favorite outdoor games and learning about theirs. For example, if you sponsor children in India*, learn more about Seven Stones, a traditional Indian game which is similar to Dodge Ball.
