Serving Selflessly

It is important to God that we serve one another selflessly, without dishonest gain, and care for each other voluntarily, without exercising dominion over others because of leadership positions.

The challenge the Father gives us is to be an example, as He demonstrated in Mark 10:45. God challenges us with the following:

During the 15 years that I have worked with this ministry, I have learned that Philippians 2:3–4 is the best way to maintain an environment of harmony, commitment, and teamwork. Perhaps in many countries we feel proud and great for working for this ministry; I encourage you to be a model of service to others before being proud.

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them — not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away. —1 Peter 5:2–4, NIV

Prayer: Father, I pray that You will minister through us and that the beautiful words “servant leadership” will become a reality in our lives.
