What Gives You Peace?

We think the world needs to hear more stories about peace right now. From the state of our broken world and global worries all the way down to our personal day-to-day troubles, worry and helplessness can threaten to overtake us.

So this past weekend on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, we asked you what gave you peace. We asked for you to share with the world through stories, pictures and videos how you experience God’s peace that passes all understanding with #GivesMePeace.

We want to know about the last moment you felt no worry? Or what thought calms your heart and mind? Or how you know that God’s peace is with you? You overwhelmed us with your compassionate, serene and joyful thoughts. And today, on International Peace Day, it’s time to share your inspiration with the world!

Knowing the love of your family gives you peace.

Random acts of kindness give you peace.

Realizing that God is in control gives you peace.

We hope that when your world threatens to crumble around you, when you feel brokenhearted or alone, that these stories will remind you that God is with you. That He is filling you and others around you with His Peace.

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me — put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” — Philippians 4:4-9 (NIV)
