Being part of this ministry family makes me feel like part of a big army serving the Lord.
I remember several years ago before I joined the ministry, a servant of God in my local church prophesied upon my life that one day God would use me to build His Church. I never knew how that would come to pass until I saw the advertisement, “Compassion: Releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.”
Immediately, I knew that is where I belonged.
As a partnership facilitator, I have been inspired working with the Church. I remember one church partner who had a poor and dilapidated church structure in bad shape. The first time I saw the church, I was greatly saddened at the state of the house of God. This made me earnestly pray for that particular partner.
Later on during my subsequent visits, I challenged the pastor, the local church committee, and the congregation to mobilize resources to renovate and beautify the church. Within a span of six months, the church was glittering — the walls renovated, the roof painted, glasses replaced, new chairs purchased, and the pulpit carpeted. I could not hold my joy when that happened!
The church congregation has since grown from 50 to 250 in attendance on Sunday.
This reminds me that the work I am doing with this ministry is life transforming. God has a divine plan to use us for His glory. According to science, 100 people working together can change 1 million people. Only together can we change the world.
Psalm 133 reminds us that godly unity produces joy because it overcomes the sorrow of self-interest and fulfills the true love of concern for others.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” — Matthew 5:14, NIV
Prayer: Father, we give you praise for Your hand at work in our lives. May our light shine all over the world to bring about transformation in the communities that we work in. In Jesus’ name, amen.
