Yesterday was our birthday, and “Today Is My Birthday” … so says our newest widget.
The “Today Is My Birthday” featured child widget is now available for you to use on your blog or MySpace profile. It’s not available for Facebook, but we do have a featured child widget you can use there.
The “Today Is My Birthday” featured child widget DOES work on wordpress.com blogs.
And it can also be used in your e-mail signature block.
Here is our original featured child widget. It works in the same places the “Today Is My Birthday” widget works.

How do i use the widgets to attach them to my WordPress blog? I really want to show my support for Compassion, but I am not the best with the widgets so far, and all of the info that I find on Google are from an older layout of WordPress.
You can get the code for our widgets here: https://blog.compassion.com/christian-website-tools-and-widgets. Try going to appearance and then widgets to place a widget on your blog. You should be able to use a text box, place the code in there and then place it where you’d like it within your template. Let me know how it goes!
I’ve replaced the code in the text boxes for both widgets. It is correct now.
One of the quirks of Word Press is that it sometimes adds or changes the code. I’ve properly chastised it for this offense.
There seems to be a problem with the code. I’m not a professional, but I’m pretty sure you can’t have to src=”URL” items in an tag.
Not working for me either.
I haven’t tried to use the link but I just want to say I love this idea!
I’ll third that … the birthday link isn’t working!
Something’s wrong with the link. When I tried to add it to my blog, all I got was the little x in a box.
I noticed the copy and paste segment is much shorter than the old one. Something must be missing.
hmmm…the birthday one is really cool. I tried to put it on my myspace but it didn’t work! I wonder what I’m doing wrong…the other one worked.
