Anyway, download functionality will be available when the redesigned compassion.com launches.
Remember us mentioning the redesign thing … back in early June. We’re still working on it. Making great progress too.
For now, this is where you can find your photos.
- Log in to My Account at compassion.com
- Click on Child Information in the left hand navigation
- Rejoice!
When you click on the Child Information link that is next to your child’s photo, you’ll get more detailed information about your child and a bigger photo.

Hello!
I just noticed an updated photo of my boy whom I correspond with in Ethiopia and I was sooo excited! I was just wondering if the info will be updated together with it? or no?
Its stated on the website that the child info was updated in 2007! I just started corresponding with him so I got his old photo not and old info not too long ago… will compassion send me the updated info and pic soon or do I have to wait 2 years? or how does it work?

You should receive the new photo and updated child information in the mail soon. You won’t have to wait two years. 🙂

No. The photos are not able to be downloaded.
If you send me your sponsor number and the child number associated with the photo problem you mentioned, I’ll have someone look into it.
You can send the information to me via the contact us form.
Are the pictures downloadable yet? Because if they are, I can’t figure out how to do it. Also, is there a reason why when I click on ‘contact your child’ there are new pictures, but under ‘child information’ it’s still the old ones?

What’s new is that the photos are now visible. They used not to be. The photos that are shown are the most recent photos that we have received.
I just went to see my two sponsored children’s new photos and they are still showing the old ones. Can you please tell me how to see the new ones or are there not new ones up for my children for some reason? I did exactly what you asked me to do. My sponsored children are Baseke, Juliet from Uganda and Safali, Clarisse from Rwanda. Thank you for any help you could give me!
WOW! It works! Just tried it . . . while I understand from Vicki Small’s comment that photos are updated every two years, how often is the information updated? Just curious to know; I do keep a running file on my child’s progress but just wanted to know.
Molly, children’s photos are updated every two years. If it’s been longer than that since you had a new one of your child, call 800-336-7676 to inquire.
This is such a great idea– but my child’s photo hasn’t been updated in a long time, nor the information… 🙁

Thanks a lot for implementing the pictures in ‘My Account’.
I noticed the photos on the ‘Child Details’ page are of 160×240 pixels. It’s understandable, as they should load fast.
I would love to be able to click a link somehere close to the photo and download the big, 800×1200 pixels photo of the child. I have received some of the high resolution photos from the Compassion office and there is really so much difference for me when I can see the children in this high resolution pictures!

To answer Carrie and Lydia’s question, yes, Amy is correct. The information gets updated every 2 years. It is quite long considering the development of a child and the things that can happen in 2 years but in many areas it is very difficult to even get this.
Someday, maybe like getting the photos on the web we can get updates more often. The more and more that technology reaches the far ends of the earth the more possible it becomes.
Now I’m going to go look at the pics of my sponsored kids in My Account. (smile)

…side note… while viewing this new feature I noticed my child’s profile has not been updated since her mother died 7 months ago. Once a child is sponsored, do any updates get made to their profile information afterwards?
this made my day today! seeing their faces & details of their worlds is a reminder of how real it all is–God is using each sponsor and it all is having a tremendous impact.
