If you sponsor a child in Ecuador, at one of these child development centers*, let us know.
- Vida Abundante Student Center (EC-431)
- Eden Student Center (EC-479)
Tom Emmons is traveling to Ecuador next week (January 12-16), and he has agreed to TRY to get a photo of your child for you.
Please don’t leave your child’s name or Compassion number in a comment. Use our contact us form, and we will reply to you via e-mail.
*UPDATE: 1/6/09 – The first five characters of a child’s number represent the country and child development center the child lives in and attends. Children with numbers that begin EC431xxx and EC479xxx are in the two development centers Tom will be visiting.

When are you going back to Equador? I have a child there whom I sponsor. I heard I can not send clothes etc. That’s why I would like to give a package with someone who goes there.
Hi Carry! We don’t currently have a blogger trip planned to Ecuador. If that changes though you’ll see us post about it on the blog so keep checking back.
How generous, Tom! My child is not in one of the centers you will be visiting. I hope I’m tuned into the blog when someone does visit his center.
I have a question pertaining to staff visiting the centers. Is it possible for me to send a small gift to be hand delivered to my child that I would not otherwise be permitted to send through the traditional mail?
Karen,
If you know someone who is traveling with Compassion you can definitely ask them to carry a package for you. Even if the person isn’t going to the specific child development center, the package can be given to someone in the country office and then taken to the development center during the next regularly scheduled visit. That can sometimes be weeks or months, but it will eventually get there.
Thank you Chris. I don’t know anyone personally, but I’ll be watching! Years ago I knew missionaries in Ecuador, but they are now retired.
Thanks for your help.
I do sponsor a child in Ecuador but he is at the Damasco Student Center. What a great idea. Have a blessed trip.
Alexis,
The first two digits of your child’s number (GU) mean that he is in Guatemala.
I don’t know what site my child is at. His number is GU: 921-0018. If you could just check and see if he’s at one of those specific locations, that would be GREAT!
Thanks!
And this is why I love this blog. Lovely idea!
Tania
Awww, I have three kids in Ecuador but none are at those projects.
But thanks for doing this! I know it means a lot to the sponsors who have kids there.
What a cool idea!
