For Ebenezer Scrooge, life seems full of disappointments. The people in his poverty-stricken community can’t pay the debts they owe him. And his riches? Well, they’re not enough. He needs more.

To make matters even worse, the people of his community are way too cheery about the holidays. He can hear shouts of “Merry Christmas!” from his desk while he works, making him cringe with every word.

But lurking just outside his door is actual heartbreak and difficulty. While Scrooge spends his time greedily gathering money, the poor and powerless around him suffer.

And if he doesn’t change his ways, he’ll be destined to suffer a lonely death, haunted by the truth that he didn’t help those who needed him most.
