Ministry Highlight: Honduras
We first began our ministry in Honduras in 1974 when child development centers were opened in Guatemala and El Salvador. Today the ministry in Honduras is made up of 175 child development centers and approximately 41,000 children are registered.

We began our ministry in Ecuador in 1974, with the Child Sponsorship Program. In 2002, we started the Leadership Development Program and in 2006, the Child Survival Program.

We began our ministry in Brazil in 1987 with the Child Sponsorship Program. In 2007, we started the Leadership Development Program.
Ministry Highlight: Mexico
We began our ministry in Mexico in 1980 with the Child Sponsorship Program. Through the years, we have moved into highly impoverished areas to help children in need. But poverty continues to impact the country severely.
Ministry Highlight: Togo
We began our ministry in Togo in 2009 with the Child Sponsorship Program. In just under two years we have registered more than 4,300 children and we partner with 20 Implementing Church Partners.
Ministry Highlight: Peru
Compassion began its ministry in Peru in 1985, when the Child Sponsorship Program was started. In 2003, both the Child Survival Program and the Leadership Development program began.
Ministry Highlight: El Salvador
Our ministry in El Salvador started in 1977 with the Child Sponsorship Program. In 2009, we implemented both the Child Survival and Leadership Development programs.
Food Security in Uganda
Families who participated in our 2009 food security programs have now built up adequate reserves to survive two or three years of poor harvest.
Ministry Highlight: Ghana
Compassion began its ministry in Ghana in 2005 with when the Child Sponsorship Program. Since then we have registered 25,000 children.
