Any country that signs up to host the Olympics faces its fair share of public scrutiny. Leading up to the games this year, Brazil has been poked, prodded, dissected and inspected by the media. But what the media has portrayed of this culturally and economically diverse country is just a slice, just a sliver of the full story.
What would you say if someone asked you the question, “What do you know about Brazil?” Could you spout off some fun Brazil facts? Maybe share a little about the community that the child you sponsor lives in?
We’ve been working in holistic child development in Brazil for more than four decades. Because we partner with local churches in communities with the greatest needs, we have a unique perspective into the issues Brazilian children face. Our slice of the story is told through the eyes of children in poverty in Brazil.
We’ve created the following infographic of some interesting and important Brazil facts to help you buff up on your Brazil smarts. It’s not the full story, and it’s just a small slice of our story, but it’s a great place to start to build your knowledge!

I agree with Michael Kientz, I would love to see an infographic on all of the countries Compassion works in! I sponsor a girl in Mexico, and I’m kind of addicted to searching out every tiny piece of info I can dig up about her area when I have free time…call me crazy, but it’s true lol.
Love this! Would like to see one on all Compassion countries.
Great idea! Find it difficult to “capture” Haiti’s essense … I am passionate but not everyone else is…thank you.
