Encourage One Another

With tears in her eyes, one sponsor said to me, “Thank you for taking my child’s mother to the hospital. She has shared with me that her mother was sick, and that had you not taken her to the hospital and cared for her, she would have died.”

Our Implementing Church Partner staff replied to her in a gentle, concerned, smooth tone, “You are welcome. Thank you for sponsoring her. We are grateful for your love and support.”

I was stunned by the look of the sponsor. It was a moving encounter.

Regardless of what some claim, there are times when we face the unknown. We can’t see around the corner. We don’t know what tomorrow brings.

Life is filled with uncertainties, which can lead to fear, confusion, and terrible consequences.

One ministry staff member shared with those of us in the Uganda office that tears are needed to water the seed. As we go on with life, we are bound to shed tears.

However, let us be encouraged because “those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy” (Psalm 126:5).

Even in the depths of the unknown, when fear seeks to rule my heart, I have a hope that is certain: My Heavenly Father protects me, His Son lights the way, His Spirit guides my steps.

And often God sends someone who will encourage and stand with me, someone who will remind me to be careful and alert.

“Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith . . . hold unswervingly to the hope we profess . . . encourage one another — and all the more as you see the day approaching.”

Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching. —Hebrews 10:22–25, NIV

Prayer: Friends, let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Thanks for sharing with us. So interesting! tears are needed to water the seed. As we go on with life, we are bound to shed tears. Very at times not on our own cases, but for the shake of our Neighbors, like what the supporter did!

as we are doing what ever we are doing let us not forget the fact that there is a time for harvesting.
So let us mind about the nature of our seeds.

The following phrase from this devotional piece has specifically spoken to my situation:
“Even in the depths of the unknown, when fear seeks to rule my heart, I have a hope that is certain: My Heavenly Father protects me, His Son lights the way, His Spirit guides my steps.

And often God sends someone who will encourage and stand with me, someone who will remind me to be careful and alert.
