Prayer is an integral part of our programs and work. Children attending Compassion-assisted child development centers at their local churches learn to pray as part of the activities. These sponsored children in Togo pray to ask God for direction, for someone to love them, for provision — for more of Him. How different (or similar) are your prayers?
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” — Philippians 4:6, NASB
“I want to succeed in school. May God help me to understand what is taught.” — Lucien, Age 11
“I am an orphan. I want God to be giving me my daily bread.” — Estelle, Age 11
“Mom and I live in a slum. May God give us a nice shelter.” — Latey, Age 6
“Recently, there was a flood in our area and water took away all my clothes. May God give me some clothes.” — Daniel, Age 8
“Pray for me that I may love God more.” — Mawena, Age 9

I have a sponcered child that has aged out . I was wondering if we could communicate by email to each other. I have given him my address but I haven’t heard from. Is it allowed to keep in contact with each other.
Hi Laurel! We would be happy to help you reconnect with your former sponsor child if possible. Please send us an email at [email protected] and provide your sponsor number or your child’s ID number with whom you wish to continue communicating. Thank you!
Who looks after orphans who are Compassion children?
Thank you for your question, Lynda! If a child that is registered with us is orphaned, they may live with a caregiver that is their relative, or they may live at an orphanage. While they are registered in our program, the community at their Compassion center helps to encourage, uplift and mentor them as they grow. If you have any other questions, you are welcome to send us an email at [email protected]. We are happy to help! ?
Yes, Robert M.
Michelle answered your question.
I have given money thru Compassion for my two boys families.
It was well spent in things they could use and which was much needed.
Kind regards ,
Carolyn Bonner
What a beautiful reminder…of how we can pray for these specific children & families, of how we can pray for our Compassion children & their families, and of how quickly I can take the smallest of blessings for granted… Thank you for this today–God’s using it in my heart.
I just received a gift catalog, however it does me little good to have these choices when I have no idea of the needs of the child I sponsor! Please send me information as to how I can find out the needs of my sponsored child!
The gift catalog doesn’t provide gifts to your specific child. It goes to other children in the program.
If you would like to send a gift to your child, you can send a monetary gift. The Compassion staff at your child’s project will sit down with the family and help determine the best ways to spend the money.
To send a monetary gift you can call Compassion M-F at 1-800-336-7676 and talk to a phone rep. Or, you can log into your account at compassion.com and click the Give a Gift link.
I hope this helps.
