Compassion Connection

I got this in a letter from one of my sponsored children in Bolivia – actually a correspondent child. Notice how the child is connecting us together.

BTW, I’m 6’5″. I stand out like a giant in Bolivia. Isaias is always amazed at that. LOL!

And please realize, I don’t really wear a pink dress! 🙂

How cute! And just for the record, I don’t think anyone thought you really wore a pink dress, Kees Boer…at least I know I didn’t 😉 lol

You are the man! No kidding.

Some of my favorite heroes wear pink!

Kees, that is one gifted little guy you’ve got there…so creative! Do you draw pictures for him too?

    1. Kees Boer April 4, 2011

I don’t think I’ve ever drawn much for him outside of a little Donald Duck on a card….. Most of my letters are via email and you can’t really draw much…. I drew something for a little girl in Mexico one time, because she specifically asked for a drawing…. Then I sent the drawing to my children too….. or a scan of the drawing…..

Oh Kees this is wonderful!! I love to read your posts about your children. I hope someday I’ll get pictures drawn for me! 🙂 You should definatly frame this! 🙂 🙂
You are my Compassion hero! 🙂

I love this picture! The pink dress isn’t to bad…I really dig the yellow leggings!

  10. Tina July 12, 2009

Kees, I love it! You should frame that one. 🙂

It’s probably not a dress at all. It’s probably a robe, like Jesus.

  12. Chuck Guth July 12, 2009

Great picture and great connection…..doesn’t really matter about the dress….it is what is “inside us” as oppossed to our “outside”

  13. Juli Jarvis July 12, 2009

Priceless Kees — especially the pink dress part. Love the photo too — that is one special little guy; he seems to have a deep understanding of what’s going — so touching! Thanks!

    @Ken M.
Hi Ken, I will be on the Brazil tour too, meeting Raphaela and Kaio.

    God bless
    Misty

What a great picture! I love how “compassion” connects both or you. Not too sure about the pink dress, though – not really your style, I think. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! I enjoyed that letter too. Then all of a sudden, I noticed that the word “Compassion” was there between us. I first thought it was a little chain. He thinks of me as a giant.

This is a picture of him and I and one of my other sponsored children.

Isaias will be 8 years old this August.

I can assure you that I’ve never worn a pink dress around him or anywhere else for that matter! LOL

  17. Heidi July 11, 2009

    Hi Kees,
And both of you have identically huge smiles. The joy is priceless!

  18. Jill Foley July 11, 2009

    Awesome!!! Love it so much.

  19. Bob July 11, 2009

@Kees… God made you a “giant” to carry that huge heart you have for his children.

    Great pic!

  20. Caitlin July 11, 2009

Cute. No pink dress? I think it’d look good ;-). Make sure you sunscreen the right side of your face!

  21. Vicki Small July 11, 2009

Oh–Kees, thanks so much for clarifying the point about that dress. :o>

  22. Vicki Small July 11, 2009

@Ken M. – Ken, I’m thrilled for you that you’re going on the tour to meet your kids! I know how you love them all, and this is just going to be such a life-changing time for you. Better yet, the children whose sponsors visit them get such a boost! I so wish I could do that for all of my girls.

  23. Ken M. July 11, 2009

    Kees,
I love your picture. I’m reminded of how my youngest child from Brazil, who is 6, connects with me. Although he didn’t write the word Compassion between our hands, he did have the correspondence monitor label the 2 people in his picture as my sponsor and Micael. It really touched my heart. I’m looking forward to meeting Micael and the rest of my sponsored children in October during the Brazil tour. I always read how meeting your children forms a deeper connection with them.

  24. Cheryl J July 11, 2009

Awesome picture, Kees! I love how he connected the two of you as well. How old is he?

  25. Mike Stephens July 11, 2009

That’s a great picture!!!!!!! Looks like you don’t have to worry about rain b/c you are even with the clouds!

  26. Judith Tremblay July 11, 2009

That is such a great picture! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
