The Road Less Traveled

I remember discovering one of the most defiant poems of American literature, written by Robert Frost. “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by.”

In the very moment I read this, I knew it was quite a beautiful paraphrase of what Jesus had said ages before about entering the small gate, ignoring the broad way, taking the road less traveled.

We know perfectly well that all of us, children of the Lord, have found this narrow path by His grace. Some people think that they’re doing something extraordinary, living a unique lifestyle, but the truth is that most of them are walking the same street, dreaming the same dream, believing everybody else’s ideas.

However, those who have accepted the challenge of following Christ are really taking a different road. That is something that maybe we have not considered: All of us, the Lord’s children, have chosen the narrow way. We’re part of a ministry, the challenging mission of which not everyone would work for.

We are more than a global community; we are a strong body led by one Spirit.

We all are one people in this greater, transcendent nation, walkers of the truly extraordinary road that leads to life, speakers of many tongues that translate into one powerful voice around the world.

“But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” —Matthew 7:14, NIV

Prayer: Lord, we are so thankful that you chose us to be your Body, for letting us be your messengers on this earth you gave us. Because you are amazingly true, because you loved us first, we thank you and love you back.

Well said. The God of Israel loved us first. Thank you Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Thank you for giving us, The Body of Christ, your wonderful gift of everlasting life. We love the small gate and narrow road that leads to life in Jesus Christ.
