We sat down with the students at Elim Student Center (ID309) in the small island community of Taboso in Jailolo, Indonesia, to chat about about all things Christmas!
They shared about the big Christmas celebration they have at the church every year, the gifts they received from their sponsors, and even what they would have brought baby Jesus if He had been born in Taboso.
Their delightful stories are guaranteed to remind you why this really is one the most wonderful times of the year!

“At the Compassion Christmas celebration I got chicken, rice, beef, cookies and fruits. They were good! My favorite characters in the Nativity story are the angels because they are a messenger, told to pass the news about Jesus’ birth. If I was a wise man visiting Jesus, I would give Him clothing so He would be warm.”

“If I was a wise man visiting Jesus, I would give Him rice and fish because that is my favorite food. I like the drama part of the Christmas celebration. Last year I played one of the one wise men – the one who brought Jesus gold. My parents came to watch so that made me so proud. ” – Alter
“I take part in the dancing part of the Christmas celebration. I’ve had to keep practicing my dance skills since I’ve been at the center! My favorite characters from the Nativity are the wise men because they like to give.” – Giovanni
