I heard that its .84 cents of every dollar that we send that goes toward the child is that true?

Hi Chelsie! Compassion is committed to having at least 80% of every dollar you give to your child’s support, going directly towards program activities that impact and help your child. However, in 2014 it was actually 84%, so yes! God is so good and because of the generous donations of sponsors like you, we were able to increase the amount and give even more to your child like you mentioned! If you give a monetary family, birthday, or general child gift however, 100% of that donation goes to your child!

For gifts, i was told that 90% goes to the child and 10% is used by the local church for delivery. Is this true or is the child receiving 100%?

        1. Susan Sayler February 7, 2018

Gregory, I apologize for the confusion. Yes, you are correct. Regrettably, this was not always the case. We used to not charge for delivery and 100% went to the child or family, but the delivery fee was added a few years ago.
